My reason for my distaste against marijuana users is based on the fact that people use it simply for the pathetic social acceptance it brings, rather than the few, positive, temporary effects.

You know nothing about marijuana, do you? You don't need to smoke it for "social acceptance". It's just something fun to do. Same with drinking. The only positive with marijuana is you don't die if you have too much whereas with alcohol, you run that risk.

People don't get into marijuana because they believe it will make them more popular. It's used mostly as something fun to do from time to time.
