Where can I find your stuff?
I didn't know canadians had a sense of humour... So the group has to be Canadian?!! That is a strange request don't you think?

I am sorry. It is a silly question isn't it?
For me it was drugs. Back in the 60's there wasn't that much to do ya know? One day I was getting really high on this puerto ricon shit you know what I sain'? Damn... I could hear jingles everywhere. So I started writing them down with the help of my Maria, since I couldn't write at the time... I had a label men! But the drugs... Maria left me and I still don't know how to write. Have you seen Maria?

As any of you guys checked the front page lately. This guy went straight into my favorite list:
Zerendra
I see some very nice names here that do deserve exposure. Nice thread pinkbikerider.
These are my suggestions. I second Pedro Mancuso and qeshi recomendation, though I would check his site for the full songs:

The voting would also increase exposure to the AP, so that there would be enough people that would vote, like say, if they did something like, being able to deposit 20 EXP per day by voting on flash AND audio instead of just 10.
Definitely. What are we supposed to do? What else is new?

You bet ya. Just don't go looking for songs from other guys and play them just because it isn't copyrighted. On NG that is defenitely not allowed, neither by the system itself nor by most members. Good luck covering

If you've used FL, Reason, Cubase, Acid... well.. ANYTHING, you have used MIDI. MIDI, or Musical Instrument Digital Interface is the standard for hardware interaction for music software, and .mid files are the standard of interchangeabe data between software.
I've used cubase in audio recording not through a midi controler... not that the result was all that great to be honest but nonetheless its different.
At 4/13/06 10:37 PM, LJCoffee wrote: MIDI controllers kick much ass - get one if you can, it beats the hell out of composing with a mouse!
See, perhaps we are talking about different things.I don't compose with a mouse. Maybe I should... it gives a lot less headaches.
I've checked some of your stuff over time and I'll give you that you have some very smooth and properly mixed tracks but you can still tell that it was computer made can't you? I guess it all depends on what you wanna use it for. But anyway let me rephrase it: most can't use them. and I still think it is quite useful and I've heard about some very good mods but can only post about what I do know, and this is my opinion based on my experience.
I'll equally give you the benefit of a doubt. Perhaps you have also composed stuff without a mouse.
Lots of people use midi controlers in a way that most songs sound like fake and artificial, playd with to straight tempos... I never use midi first because I'm not used to (that's not a very valid argument:P), second because songs loose its natural touch. HOWEVER (and this is for all of you "one man show" guys/girls) it is useful for mechanic or constant background, like a set of strummed chords (never, never, never used midi as main... god that really sucks, and you guys know what I'm talking about I'm sure). Instead of using a midi to audio converter I would advise real-time recording for each track - it makes a difference when you mix all together... not that I'm an expert myself but I have had a bit of the studio spotlight experience so you see a few things... and learn none :P

Need music or sound effects? Here's the resource topic for existing MIDI, MP3 and WAV downloads. Remember, you cannot use MIDI files in Flash, so you'll need to convert them yourself. There are plenty of ways to do this - either manually or with software programs.
This is the first time I'm seeing this post. Thank you so much for your help. This was most kind of you ;)
Covers ntless are supposed to be orginal "remakes" so be careful about what your doin'. Don't think that a cover is supposed to be a copy of the original.

Unfortunately, yes, it does matter a little - a lot of the peeps here will dismiss you if you only have a few posts or if you aren't generally known around these parts - it's too bad really - people here are much nicer than those in some other forums but they are also much more elitist in many ways... :(
Yes it is an "open thread" - feel free to post whatever you think is appropriate, just don't be too surprised if someone gives you the obligatory "STFU n00b" bullshit once in a while...
Oh well...
Thanks for your honesty.
If someone actually considers what is or isn't valid based on that is their problem. Just like in real life, I don't really care =P ... It isn’t really up to me to deal with it since I have no issues regarding what is said and who says it.
I'll let what I do speak for myself and intervene when I find convenient.
Cheers mate ;)

Well, I'm glad to see that there are interested people - Sure the system could be revamped but then, I've grown kind of fond of the flaws...
There are always at least two sides though - You think that pickexers are bad now? imagine what would happen if suddenly, you were also required to vote on audio to get all of your xp... First the FP - Blam - blam... blam.blam......blam
- then over to the AP - blam..pow...blam...blam..kafuckingBLAM ... then deposit your ten points... Now imagine thousands doing that... Could get pretty rough...
I don't think that the suggestion was doing that way... Some people suggest that voting on an audio file or a flash file would have exactly the same weight... others suggest perhaps two experience metters (one for flash, one for audio)... what ever is the suggestion one thing is consensual: there should be a blam/protect system at least!
Regarding blamers... good submitions still pass on newgrounds. Lets hope there are more people part of the solution than the problem!

You are right. There seems to be good emerging artists that really put some effort into it, that loop some of their long songs so they can also serve the flash artists but that, nonetheless, want to know if their music is worth something, that want to show what they are made of. I no any other way of changing this than to suggest on the NG BBS - Ideas for NG Evolution Mk2 . Does anyone have different suggestions?
At 2/27/06 05:26 PM, TJA wrote:At 2/23/06 05:37 PM, Chungadaddy wrote: Do you think that other users might see any problem with that for instance? Do you think that alowing that might be against the grounds by which NG stands or the very reason that NG was created?Well...NG has been said to have been made for flash users to submit their animations so people around the world can view them etc. etc. but the audio portal was only put there for the flash users to get royalty free music but due to the shun of NG users to the audio portal the flash movies on NG in a rough guess has about 2% of the total movies with ONLY audio portal music. Why? Maybe they wanted to make a music video for their fav. band or whatever or maybe the AP didnt have the right style in a way that i think is acceptable but when it comes to people working hard to give these people music of all different styles and for it to be shuned is terrible for those people and also the AP and become a place where if your at the top you stay at the top and people just submit crap because they know it will get through i think maybe all of it should be "purged" or deleted and peopel can resubmit with a blam/protect in order to stop this waste of bandwidth and instead of a Top 5 and 2 on the front page maybe there shouldnt be awards at all since this is a flash based site but maybe an award for having music used in a flash that did get an award or something...well im just blabbing and no one will read this because this is the audio forum and its 2 active members at a time...just think about it though...
The Portal purjing would be a real problem though I actually would like to see that done but it is nice to see that there's a group of people that feel the same way. All sugestions continue valid, even if people tend to think that one portal is more important than the other BUT for what I've seen, almost everyone agrees that this present situation needs to be rectified. The Audio Portal has really changed!
