Topic: why is intelligence shunned?

Posted: 10/05/09 10:40 PM

The intellectuals have been discriminated against for a long time. The early philosophers were either sent into exile or forced to bow down to "authority", and this persecution didn't stop until the 17th century when religious reformations came about.

Recently intelligent man has been idolized along with athletics (not to say the two are exclusive of each other). The computer age has really brought smarts into the foreground of society.

Yeah, i see the mistake i made...i guess i should have just said 1 cent, not .01 cents, sorry. They stole a penny, not a fraction of a penny, a WHOLE penny.
That fucking changes it, those bastards!

He also said "Side not: its not the one cent that is pissing me off...it's that if they do this to all their customers each year, they are not only STEALING, but they are probably stealing thousands of dollars...a penny at a time."

Well, that's always good to hear. Unfortunately though with 21 seasons, "better than average" doesn't really amount to much anymore.

Congrats and best of luck man! One of my friends is gonna have a baby, and I'm not sure how good of a father he'll turn out to be since he split with his gf when he found out she was pregnant. Just be sure to not be an immature dick and support your baby. So far it seems like you're doing well.

So again, congrats, and raise her well! Make us proud.

I take it your gf either goes to USM or SMCC. I've got friends in both schools, and they didn't have much to say about them. But then again, it's Maine.

There are coat hangers throughout the room that I hang my jackets, and any overshirts I have I store in the dresser. If you do it neatly enough, they don't wrinkle.

Uni student here with residence on campus.

Here's my set-up. 42" flat screen. Brought a 360 and Wii (almost didn't bring the Wii, but damn, Metroid Trilogy and Muramasa looked good). All fits nice in the closet, though without the "walk-in" closet, I'd have no space to put anything. Works pretty flawlessly.

Also, I got a PS3 Slim, though I'm not sure where it'd fit. It's easy enough to unplug/replug consoles, though, so I'll most likely just replace the Wii whenever I'm in the mood to play PS3, and vice versa.

Oh, and anyone going TV shopping for college are better off getting at most a 37". The 42" fits in my room, but it's a pretty tight squeeze, and it can be awkward to work around.

I remember playing the demo to that game. I thought it was fun, but never bothered picking up the actual game. It was basically a standard platformer, right?

Eh, it's pretty easy to avoid the special infected. Tank's the worst, but there are strategies to avoid it, but as long as you play on easy, you can take down the tank before it even reaches you.

All right, so I'll know if I'll be getting a PS3 or not by the time I get out of work.
