kingbastard a couple days ago contacted tom - again - and requested that all of his songs be removed from newgrounds. There will never be any more of his songs on this site ever again.

many other ppl have considered leaving as well - sonicEclipse, ZeRo BaSs, ParagonX9 and probably others that I am not aware of.

All because people simply downrate their stuff as soon as they submit it.

the audio portal didnt used to be like this - it seems the more sogns are shoved into the genres the more songs are downrated just so other people can maintain their positions on the first page.

I think something needs to be done about the audio portal. Maybe moderators? Or maybe some way of finding out who is rating for your own songs? all it would take is an option in your user accoutn to open a log file, its not that hard. Especially since users can only vote once in the audio portal.

I have heard other suggestions as well - one being that users should have to give reviews if they rate - but thats just ridiculous - a person could open an alias account and type gibberish and noone would be the wiser -

also ip bans dont do much - the person can just go on another computer or change their ip.

user bans arent that useful either - they can just open up another username and have that one banned all the time.

its so frustrating because while sometimes a 0 is necessary - most songs in the audio portal DONT SUCK THAT MUCH. some might merit a 2 or a 3 - but a 1 and a 0 are usually very harsh. Also it shows that not much can be done - but if we could see who was rating us - if a certain pattern of 0s began to show up from a user - they could get a warning - or be banned - it would at least slow things down a bit.

I just dont wanna see any more of my fellow musicians leave newgrounds - and if you dont want to see that either - than maybe something should be done.

I hope someone that cares or can make a difference reads this.

no i dont email jim every little song i make - he usually emails me back he just didnt this time - he said before that he hadnt forgotten he was just budy - hes probably just forgotten - and why are you people so quick to flame? It was just a question.

I just wanted to know why no new audios have been entered from ANYBODY - dont make it seem like i was whining that mine werent put in. I also realize that i do get exposure anyways and yes i still need to get better. So ya.

i know quite a lot of us have made those little loops and sent them to liljim - who appears too busy to respond to emails at ALL - and I know that it has to then go through every newgrounds worker, and then tom, before it will even be considered...

so whats the verdict?

I think you should at least get an email back saying - "your song has not been chosen for the following reasons:" and then blah blah blah.

any comments on this?

it just seems so frustrating... its like being a cartoonist and sending your ideas to disney and them just throwing them into a giant pile without even looking at them..

i live in stoney creek (canada for those unawares) we have a KK around somewhere - neways they are pretty good - but good lord i can only eat 1 or 2 before i feel like ive ingested a whole cheesecake - those things are mighty rich! I grew up with timmies -it was the typial loitering place and their timbits rule! what? KK doesnt have timbits? what a shame. Also i can but a doxen donuts at timmies and eat them all without feeling sick. Also, i dotn drink coffee - but my sister has like 5 of them a day from timmies so it must be good - everyone seems to agree on that - the beans even SMELL good.

listen to the first 4- newgrounds loops have a slight pause right before they loop - but they all loop seamlessly when actually used - tell me what u guys think

click above to hear - the song came out a few weeks ago on the radio - like a retro sounding dancish song on 102.1 the edge (for us canadians) - they play it every thursday at night, but they never friggin' say what song it is! - its like one of the only songs on the radio ive heard with an 8-bit main theme in the song - if anybody can tell me what song it is id greatly appreciate it!

1) Dragon's voice : think of Korn when he says "IM DYING" in somebody someone, or slipknot when hes scream singing - i need someone who can scream talk like that. "

you need to say "How the mighty have fallen!"

2) Resident evil girl - like voice - either that or a voice like daemon from Reboot

you need to say "this place is called the white void of souls"

ppl are not being helpful so if u ever want to see a series from me try to help me out ok?

record it and send it to my email and i will consider it - make sure to leave a contact so i can get back to u if i deem you acceptable of the part
