She already lives there. Its about her getting citizenship and having protections under the law granted to other people living in France.

There's no question still. France has the ultimate authority in deciding who is allowed and who is not. If they feel she is extremist, it would be wrong not to let them exercise their authority.

So... I don't care whether she is or is not. The fact of the matter is that France thinks she is, so they're acting on it.

Well, we could always use nuclear power.

But no, the environment prefers the biproducts of fossil fuels more than safely contained waste.

I don't mind the politics in the Olympic games, because most of it involves friendly politics. The Games have brought a lot of countries together.

It has brought them together to see how badly the US can spank everyone. In general, we rule at sports.

Response to: Burka woman denied citizenship (FRA Posted July 14th, 2008 in Politics

I don't follow. What gives people the unalienable right to live wherever they want to?

So France doesn't want extremists running around making demands, unlike most of Europe. That's admirable. They're acting on the pretense that wherever extremist Muslims go, trouble goes. It's not racist or prejudice, but logical.

What about when you torture people who genuinely do not have any information to give you?

However, that is not a call to stop interrogation. It is a call to improve our intelligence so we can be sure that someone has useful information.

But yes, it is very stupid to torture someone in an attempt to find out if they have information.

If you change your laws to make special provisions for a group of people simply to appease them, you're treading on fragile ground.

Especially when the particular group of people will just grow more demanding. If you give a mouse a cookie, he's going to ask for a glass of milk.

I mean, they start talking about recognizing their marriages, and now the issue of dogs being unclean is coming up.

Their obsession with appeasement is ridiculous.

The government is saying they want to incorporate aspects of Sharia into their laws, which is stupid. What aspects? The one where a man can divorce a wife by saying, "I divorce thee, I divorce thee, I divorce thee," or maybe the one where a man can kill his daughter for disgracing the family?

Response to: Why are healthcare cost so high? Posted July 9th, 2008 in Politics

Thank you kidray. You sum it up well.

People don't fully understand that medicine is expensive. They think that they can just make it cheap, either through socialization or some retarded other means, but that doesn't work with capitalism.

People should spend wisely when it comes to healthcare, but they don't.

This is assuming that even a single morbidly obese man could fit in it.

Well the major parties have to deal with it.

The way our voting system works is everyone votes for who they want, regardless of who they think will win, and whoever gets the most votes wins. It's ridiculous to compromise your beliefs in a candidate because other people want you to vote for theirs.
