I went to their museum in LA with some friends of mine awhile back, and discovered the following things:

1. They don't know what Shrapnel is.
2. They like to sell books.
3. I'm easily fooled into buying aforementioned books by women who pretend to understand me.

Damn scientologists...

Response to: The working world is prostitutes. Posted February 28th, 2006 in General

Aye, but think of the money the government could make by taxing prostitutes! They could have health plans, there would be a prostitute certification bureau, thousands of horny losers would pay top dollar to get laid, and if it was legal, there would be a significantly smaller chance of someone 'cutting the ho'...I think that would certainly be a decent way to slow the decay of the american economy...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

what highschool does is basically teaches you how to learn. so no it isnt overrated

...but there are plenty of people who made much more of themselves after dropping out,
oh yeah, name them.

yes there are SOME people that make a great living with no hoghschool degree, however, it is RARE.

And in response to your first...response...true, but I don't think it's the only way to learn how to learn, if you have the will to learn, you can do a lot, especially in the age of the internet...

High school is overrated, it helps if you're planning to be like the masses, getting a traditional 'Job' and whatnot...but there are plenty of people who made much more of themselves after dropping out, if you want to be a doctor or lawyer or something along those lines, then you'll want to go through with high school, but if you have the will to start something new, I'd say go for it. I myself dropped out, got my ged and started college when I was 16...sure, you miss out on prom and gym, but there are better things out there.

Response to: Chef? Good or Bad? Posted February 28th, 2006 in General

The culinary arts can be tough and stressful, but if you follow through with it you'll have potential for a great career. Namely, owning your own restaurant. Back in my home town, there was a guy that started his own restaurant, things went really slowly at first, namely because it's a pretty small town, but he kept at it, kept making new recipes, and people kept talking about his place to all their friends, so on and so on, these days he has a huge house, great family and has graced the covers of several cooking magazines. So basically, if you don't let other people talk you out of following your dream, you can go really far. Go to colledge, get a job as a prep cook, work your way up to a chef, and when you make enough money, either study up on buisness or find somebody who already knows about it and start your own place, that's what I would do anyway. ^_^ Best of luck in your future endeavors.
