Youth should definitly get into politics, and I think a test for everyone would be great. It could be about different stances and what each candidate endorses etc. to keep the informed people in and the uninformed out.

It's rather sad, because it could all be changed for the better (whatever that may be) if everyone cared at all. Too bad so many people are "too cool" to vote.

I am making a video accomanied by music. I would like for, at the press of a button, a scene to start playing and for the music to start playing, but when the scene changes for the music to stop. How would I remotely start a sound playing?

the detail is better, but it could still use a lot of work. try smoothing it out, rounding off your edges, and generally making it better. if you get a really good product, you'll be quite pleased with yourself, more so than if you keep a bad one.

its a nice character, although i would recommend putting a bit more detail into him. also, i'm assuming that he has a clock face (thats what it looks like), i would recomend changing it to something more original. all in all though, i like it. but please guys, cut out the little kid fighting. it gets none of us anywhere, and its spam in the forums.

Well, I found the cause of all of my problems with this. In one part of the code you gave me (no hard feelings, however), you put
"if (key.isDown(key.UP))", which should have read "if (K ey.isDown(key.UP))". However, thanks a lot for your help Inglor. Would there be a way to make it so that the movie clip would only play if you hit up twice in a row?

What happens when this happens is that the movie clip still just plays, and doesn't stop at the beginning. If it matters, my Flash Doc is like this: I have, in my library, an MC called jump. It is a clip of a guy jumping into the air and doing a flip, and then landing. This is centered in the middle of Scene 1, and that is all I have. Hope that helps.

Sorry, I'm not really following you, but I do see a possible miscommunication on my part. My movie clip is already named jump, if that matters. Sorry for my lack of AS ability :-(

Sorry Inglor, that didn't work. I did try to look at the code a little, and while I barely know any AS, I did notice that there was nothing in there to stop the MC at all. Would such a piece of code look like this:

jump.stop()

and would it be under onClipEvent (Load)?

Right now, I am trying to make a game where spikes shoot out of a wall at the character, and the player must move his character to dodge them. I have a movie clip for the jumping, and I want to make it so that it does not play unless you press the UP key twice in a row. What would the code for what would be attached to the MC look like? Thanks a lot for your help. Also, don't worry about my submitting this to NG, I'm merely doing this for learning's sake.
