Internet browsers come with flash plugins already installed, whereas you have to go out of your way to get the unity web player plugin. Since most casual browser gamers won't have this already installed, you're selling yourself out of a considerable chunk of your potential audience, and that's never a good idea if you want your games to be anything more than technical exercises in smoother running / compiling etc.
Hmm. every time I've built a computer and installed firefox I've never had flash player automatically installed. Not saying you haven't experienced that but I mean even Netflix requires Silverlight and that has millions of users. I'm pretty sure most people especially gamers know how to download a plugin - its seriously small. 1.1 mb plus it has native export to mobile, mac, linux, and even extends out to xbox, ps3, ps vita. I'm sure a few of you know of a few games that would play awesome on those other platforms but AS3 doesnt allow it. But I don't want this to be a AS3 vs Unity discussion here.. this is more about the beta for my game. I'm down to talk about it at length in another forum section though

The Flash export was dropped and the Unity plugin may be on it's way, it doesn't even have an official Linux version, so I had to move to my Desktop to play it.At 9/8/14 04:35 PM, MintPaw wrote: About 2% of all web browsers have the Unity plugin while 97+% have Flash Player.Yes it is true that Flash Player has been around longer so it has a larger install base at the moment but Unity is quickly gaining territory. And wow man that sounds amazing - 5 seconds is what I have with Unity but Idk how you squeezed that out of AS3. Perhaps I had too many import statements? I was building a game engine/framework for a while and there were lots of imports but it made the coding a lot easier imo. However all of that work is now obsolete as Unity takes care of so much so well.
You should of learned to use AS3 properly, I have less than 5 second compile times on huge project on my crappy laptop.
Otherwise the game is ok I guess.
Actually the latest versions of unity have native linux support! It's pretty awesome actually how easy it is to build on multiple platforms.
As far as I can tell Unity is growing really fast and the reach that is given to you from the get go is priceless. Plus C# is a much stronger language than AS3. Give it a try! I was hard pressed to download it and port my code over but I love it!

Thanks man! I love the ganja as well, and there just aren't very many good games featuring the sacred herb. More content is coming soon! Anything you might be interested in seeing!? :} PS. I have a new cannabis game also scheduled where you grow your own plants out - I know hemp tycoon already did that but I found the mechanics in that title to be very shallow and not conductive to learning about cultivation.

Thanks for the compliment - I know its not as polished as it could be or as original but I needed to get my feet wet and this seemed to be the easiest thing for me to finish. I'm incredibly eager to begin on a new project I've been cooking up. Its a tile / turn based board game style wizard combat game utilizing rock paper scissor and checker-like mechanics in new and creative ways :D

From some of the other posts, I'm guessing it's not just broken as I first thought, but honestly, games that only work on certain types of systems never do very well on NG. Making it as generic as the description sounds (I remember a Michael Jackson's baby catching game, that could fit this game's description almost perfectly, from almost 15 years ago) isn't going to help either.
You should've just stuck to AS3. It has less of a chance of running into compatibility issues on phones than Unity3D does on computers.
Hmm if you are using a computer then it should work fine as long as you have the unity web player plugin for your browser which you can get here. Its exactly like the flash plugin except for unity :]
Yeah I know its not the most original game but I did add certain elements that make it a bit more tense. Managing your cash and high adds a resource micromanagement element to this. Plus more game modes are coming soon that differ from the standard catch formula.
As for AS3 I just couldn't keep with it man! I had a pretty good version of this game going with AS3 but my compile times started getting ridiculous ( like 5 min between compiles) and I couldn't live with that! As for compatibility flash has its own problems and though I do love flash - I love unity more!
PS. An android version will be arriving on the play store - as for flash games I've never been able to access them through my phone - I had a shitty tablet that claimed it could run flash but it was pathetic. Then again that tablet was $50... anyways my HTC One m8 can't run flash at all :[

Yeah - the dimensions are not ideal for pc but some of the assets would be fucked. I could work on this though. As for now I would suggest pressing ctrl and - to shrink your screen - sorry!

Why would we want to play a game about monsters catching candy? ;P
Honestly this game type is simple and has been around a while ( this is my first full forced game dev project ) which is why I decided to make this game. Why would you want to play it in regards to the theme - personally I enjoy the graphical aesthetics of the plant. Did you play it? :]
I would like to say thanks for trying guys!
Are you attempting to play it through a phone?
According to this forum post you can't play the web version of the game from a tablet or android phone.
However I do have an Andoid version that plays very well if you are interested PM me I'll send you a link and try to install a beta build on your phone! :}
Been working on a cannabis game for a few years now. I first started in AS3 but switched to unity once I saw how fast the compile times were on that platform. Still polishing this title and am looking for any input. Please try it out and let me know what you think!
Cannabis Catching Reflex Game
More content coming soon including modes similar to the japanese game pachinko as well as another mode that will debut soon!
damn forget to say the name of that product is the Pyptek Prometheus. love it!
get yourself one of these pipes - they hit like a bong, strong, smooth and big plumes of smoke!

Smoking out of tin foil is NOT a good idea- tin particles line your lungs and can/may cause bleeding! :[
Learn C# or any other programming language so you can talk to computers :D
