Stop bitchin' about your boyfriend and go take your medication, grandma.

As long as some techno artist doesn't win then I don't give a fuck.

On another note, pun definitely intended, are the musician of the year awards broken down by category? I mean, if you're going to nominate a techno artist, then he/she can definitely not be judged in the same category as say, a real composer.

OOH look at me I got a piano roll for my birthday. La-di-fucking-da. I write music with notes - actual fucking notes. Not little and big blip thingies. Half notes, quarter notes, and occasionally even 128th notes - I write them just for lolz.

Forum: Audio

I'm currently in Oberlin, OH, several hundred miles from my home computer (software, VSTs, etc.), so I can't do anything immediately.

When do you need this by? As long as I get credit for the score, I'd be willing to do a custom score for it.

What kind of music are you looking for? What instruments? Etc. You said it's a silent film - silent film traditionally had a piano accompaniment (the film was played in a theatre with a pianist who performed the score).

Yes, but they are a crazy religious fringe group.

The point still stands - we're rewarding their behavior with fame and media coverage.

Topic: Some reviews are just pointless...

Posted: 08/30/09 11:32 AM

Forum: Audio

Of all the reviews I've had, I think something like 1/3 of them have spent more time talking about the technology than the music.

They rate it 8/9/10 (which coincidentally will be my 18th birthday following Month - Day - Year format), and post something like "Cool track" or "I liked it".

Then after their one phrase 'review' they go straight into stuff like,
"So you got that library after all?" or "Hey what library are you using, because it sounds so cool and I really want a guitar/bass/drum/synth/piano/etc. that sounds just like yours!"

I mean, I guess I should be happy that I'm actually getting reviews, but... I just wish people would spend more time reviewing than writing useless, off-topic stuff like "What was the last thing you ate?" or "Where do you live, I want to rape you."

I just wish that people would write a review in the review box, and then if they want to know what software and libraries I'm using, they can e-mail me.

Mix orchestral with some technology, like really awesome violin melodies with awesome percussion. (Check out some samples of EastWest's "Stormdrum 2" for some examples of what I mean by awesome percussion.)

Game developers and directors love orchestral. Why do you think films (excluding "The Matrix") always have orchestral scores?

Ask her dad to mow your lawn. That's a good icebreaker.

Then, afterward, you can ask if you can plow her lawn, wink, and casually walk off. If she's into you, she'll definitely get what you mean. If she doesn't get it, she either need learn more English, or she just doesn't like you that much.

Topic: Photoshop Ted Kennedy

Posted: 08/29/09 11:09 PM

Forum: General

At 8/29/09 10:50 PM, Axius wrote: Proof please.

Oh you want proof do you? Well, here's proof.

Okay, so here's the story basically about why he could be considered a murderer.
From the Ted Kennedy Obituary on BBC News:

...the car turned onto a side road and crashed off a bridge into a tidal creek.

Kennedy pulled himself from the upturned car and, after swimming across a narrow creek, returned to his hotel without reporting the accident...

Kennedy pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, claiming that he had been in shock, and was given a two-month suspended jail sentence.

An inquest, held in secret at the request of Kennedy family lawyers, cast serious doubts on Kennedy's story, but no further action was taken.

And here's why most Brits - including myself - couldn't give a toss about his passing away.

From the Telegraph, a UK newspaper:

It's not often said aloud but many British people when they first saw United 175 hit the World Trade Centre felt, alongside shock, pity and a sense of solidarity with the American people, also a feeling of "now you know what terrorism is like, will you stop funding the murder of our people?"

For years Kennedy was the bang-drummer-in-chief for brainless Irish-American IRA sympathisers, dimwits who shouted "troops out of Dublin!" and sang maudlin songs from the comfort of Boston and New York, giving money for strangers 3,000 miles away to murder their neighbours.

For despite the pseudo-Marxist justifications the IRA used, which was obviously lapped up by useful idiots on both sides of the Irish Sea and across the Atlantic, their goal was always ethnic cleansing against their neighbours, the people who Americans still call "the Scots-Irish".

There's your proof. Want more?

A drunken, murdering guy who supported the IRA (basically, an Irish terrorist group if you didn't already know).

Unfortunately, because he's a Kennedy, people are supposed to think he's 'awesome.' You just have to love the liberal American media!
