Seriously though, it's one thing to hate gays and I'll never be ignorant enough to say I hate "gays" as a group, but damn, if one of them calls you gay that's like the ultimate insult to a lot of people.

And for that one dude that said that so many straight men get away with snide sexual comments, that's equally disgusting, and I've never done that.

yes, it is equally disgusting, well done for saying so. not differently. thing is, its not worth punching someone in the face in that situation. evidently the gay man had been having a few drinks and was just joking around - it's not worth taking something so seriously. they have every right to take the guys mate in.

That's bullshit. If a gay guy called me gay I'd punch him in the face too, and press charges for sexual intimidation.

It's like walking up to a cute girl and shouting "HEY, I BET YOU'D LOVE TO HAVE MY COCK INSIDE YOU, HUH" because that's basically what the gay guy was insinuating.

wow, well done to contradict yourself.
if it was insinuating, the amount of men that say sly remarks at women and get away with it is astounding. if the gay man had said "HEY, BLAHY BLAH COCKS" then I'd understand, but you fucked up your own argument.
if your going to be a homophobe, please do it properly.

I'd have said "CIDER" otherwise. I'm not an idiot, if you buy a "fruit cider" it tends to be a mix of several fruits, rather than just the supposed apples.

everyone IS born with a camera. They're called eyes. What have you seen with your camera? Isn't it more important what pictures you take with it than the actual type of camera. ON that note, OP, I would love to see some of your photography. I will look through your posts to find them.

yes, but not everyone is born with a produced, manufactured camera.

...therefore making it incomparable.
I apologize, I was stating what you stated in an attempt to make you see that it was simply not so. If it was, we'd all be the same, now wouldn't we.

yes, but that could be comparable to saying we all have hair - and then comparing it by the way it looks. the way our minds function isn't in itself something we own, more something that makes us who we are.

well, you make sense there. it IS more interesting, but it seems like your looking down on people for having a material attatchment, when the start of the thread was simply asking what your favourite posession is.
I'm not looking down on anyone, that first post was a bit derogatory, needlessly so. But hey, you replied so it worked. Why am I not allowed to take pride in my natural possessions, is all I'm saying, why are they not equal or more valuable than the outwardly ones.

The point is, I am more interested in WHY these possessions are valuable to you. What do you do with them. I expected to see the answers to this, but sadly, as I looked through, it was simply, "I have this," not, "I have this because."

and thats a very noble cause.
I'll evaluate then - my favourite item of material possession is my drum kit, because music is my passion and I have put alot of time into tending to it. it leaves me feeling satisfied.
needless to say I wasn't trying to offend you, more pull apart your reasoning.

thats like me saying the coolest thing I own is me - the initial point of the thread is to come up with an item that you posess that makes you happy - and an item doesn't encompass yourself.
yes. 4 pages of guitars and x-boxes are much more interesting than a questioning of self.

it has to be my drumkit really.
the actually three toms and the bass are incredably cheap (buying a new shell pack soon though) but the cymbals, snare (and theres alot of cymbals) and percussion are all expensive - it's a big monster of a kit. a metal kit. hell, somedays I come back from college when it's late, turn on the light and sit and just clean the cymbals.
I love it to pieces.
