Anyway, nuff of the soundbites. Religion as a concept divides the people, and it suits the world rulers to divide people in this way. Everyone should share the same religion, completely everyone, or have no religion at all, for the sake of human lives.
Of course an idea like that would stop many wars and problems in the world, but come on, it's not even remotely realistic. Not to mention really boring. One religion? Bah. Even if it managed to happen all the world would just break into cults (or denominations, that sounds better) and there we go, round 2.
But seriously, religion is much too useful of a tool for any world figure to give up. You can get all the poor, hungry, disease-ridden populace together to remind them that they have a purpose in life. A DIVINE purpose, that's the kicker. And then have them invade your neighbors. Recipe for success.
We can only be playing God is there is a God anyway...
And the death penalty would be cheaper if we shot and hung the executees instead of go through such a tedious process. It's doubtful the people they brutally murdered recieved such fair and just treatment, what makes them deserve any better.
Rights are only rights until you take the rights of another. In this case, that's the right to live.

but also, many people don't find killing a killer is right, kind of like we shouldn't torture a torturer
But doesn't torturing a torturer sound like a fitting punishment? Or raping a rapist (though I suppose in our prison system, that likely happens anyway).
Meh, look at it this way. Every sick and sadistic person we make go away leaves more food and air for the rest of us. So really, the death penalty helps the enviornment! ...ironically... so do the murderers...
My REAL take on the whole thing though... take all the people on death row and let them have the option to join a battle royale to the death for their freedom. You could sell it on Pay-per-view and VHS and DVD and the government would make a killing. That, and it would be fun to watch.

Why not just vote for the third party. If you think it doesn't matter anyway, and your planning on not voting at all. Just vote for third party. If a third party gets 5% they get funding in the next election, and allowed into major debates (or so I've been told). Half of America doesn't vote because they don't like the two options. If that half voted third, then they would SMOKE the dems and reps.
Because I'm lazy. And no one else will. Half of America doesn't vote because they're lazy bastards, and I think that's a decent category to be in. I'll sit in the middle.
But in '08, when I actually think there is a chance, I will vote for a third party candidate, assuming he doesn't put out before then. Ventura '08!

You have my pity. Do you have a Hastings near you? They're not so bad with music, though I usually only get books there.
You're alot braver than I am, friend. Those don't even SOUND plausible together.

Not sure if I feel old or ignorant. I seemed to forget not everyone has seen that abbreivation before.
Yeah, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I still have all the toys I had from years ago, though I'm not certain if that's for profit accumulation or nostalgia. Probably not gonna part with them though.
Ya know, a haloween costume of Evil Rabbit Santa would probably sell really well. To bad no costume company is brave enough for something like that.
Ya know, things like this wouldn't happen if people beat their kids when they did something stupid... in an ideal world, it would go a bit like this...
"Mommy! Mommy! I found lots of things and you have to get them cause I was good and I did by chores and I promise to be good and I..."
*SMACK!*

Shrek Toothpaste

Shrek Pastrie Swirls (or something like that)
Shrek Pop-tarts
Shrek Wafles
And a lot more but I can't remember them right now.
As long as little kids are able to annoy their parents into buying them all this overpriced crap, this will continue to happen.

Aside from the horrible food, I HATE McDonald's new 'urban' ad campaign. Even if they had awesome food, I'd boycott it.
At least they USED to 'love to see me smile'. I guess I'm just not 'Lovin' it'.
And, through sheer stubornness and die to the fact that both candidates suck and no one else will vote for third parties, I'll become part of that big non-voting chunk of America for this election. I just can't bring myself to choose the lesser of two evils. I'd rather not influence the choice at all. Like a one person boycott that no one cares about.

My guess is either tax money (us), which would be heinously wrong, or his political contributors and close friends.

He lived to be over 90. People were starting to expect immortality after he struggled for so long.
But I guess he finally forgot to breathe. Heh.
Just kidding ;)
And if I get cursed for joking about the dead, I had it coming.

The children of these people can be untaught by society, through many different outlets. It is not like children are solely taught by their parents. I do see your point though, but there is the gradual decline of acceptability concerning this sort of behaviour.
But you're forgetting something again. You are making the assumtion that these people are influenced by a positive society. However, the societys that house these hate groups tend to be out-of-the-way, and often the teachers at their schools and the law enforcement of their cities support this idea.
And you'd be surprised how effective the parents can be when they tell their children for years that media lies, people lie, and these groups of people are evil - God hates them but loves you.

Ok, I'm a bit confused here... what side are you on? You shouldn't have a right to choose...but it should be up to her? I don't understand the logic. I'm just going to assume you are pro-choice, since you insulted Bush (damn, that's good logic!)
Anywho, I really don't care one way or the other, because the topic doesn't effect me, and never will. Kinda pointless to have a stance on it then, eh? Just avoid the situation of having kids you don't want by taking precautions (as many as you want). Then there wouldn't be much to debate over.
One of my favorite comedians, Eddie Izzard, did a joke about this very event. He was comparing the genocide in Turkey with what happened in Germany.
"He got away with it because he was killing his own people. We didn't really care about that. But Hilter, he started killing people next door... stupid man. We can only stand that for a few years..."

Actually, the WASP voting group is typically middle class. And white poor only tend to vote Republican if they live in rural areas or are devoutly religious. Most urban poor vote democrat, regardless of race.

You're forgetting one thing, my friend. The ability of these ignorant people to reproduce and force their views on their offspring. And since many of them have more than enough children... they will probably go on for some time.

That's fairly ironic, in my opinion. We orchastrated Saddam's election before the entire Gulf War started, but that's beside the point.
Saddam may have caused problems during the Gulf War, but there is a bit of a gap between then and now. A few years or so. Saddam did not openly attack us or threaten us to start this conflict. We are the bully this time. Do you think that because he attacked us over a decade ago that we have the right to jump on him unproked?
And no, Bush didn't start the war, but neither did Saddam. Bush's puppeteer started the war. I'll let you contemplate that one for a bit. See what you come up with.
Besides, political views and philosophy are often closely related. Just look at the number of people discussing religion and quoting Aristotle. Another section would just be redundant.
Though, to save space, they could install a 'Bush' Forum. Half the threads here would fall under that category.

That's a nice idea, but most people I know are more likely to knock you unconscious than admit they know nothing. Not that you could blame them. Repetition is annoying. Yep. Repetition is annoying.
Ok, ok. I'll agree that we do need to pull back and cut overseas spending on... everything, but we have enough healthcare as is. A simple cut across the board in taxes would accomplish the same goal of more money for medicine...that is assuming the person spends it on medicine. But if they don't, hey, not my fault. Not like they didn't have the money. They just didn't choose to spend it wisely.
I just hate the idea of a government that is like a parent, slowly taking bits of money away from us without our choice to give back to us all at once later. What if I only want to live to be 35? I could spend all the money the government would be saving on quality of life, and live happily that way. Not everyone wants to waste away to nothing before the die....
Wow, that was a tangent. Anyhow, to sum it up, lower taxes, smaller government, less overseas spending, recalling the military from countries unless specifically asked to stay, and not ever again having any presidential recounts (at least not like it was) ought to be a good start.

Silly man. Things like that don't exist here in America. Only in theories and in our minds.
"click it or ticket" (seatbelt campaign in America) = give us your money as we pretend to care about your safety by enforcing socialistic policies and forcing people to be safe despite the unsafe actions you can partake in legally.
Jesse Ventura '08! Though he does need to clean up a bit... he is looking ridiculous now.
And the reason there is not a better third party is because not enough people vote for third party candidates. So support them, and gain a new choice.
