my view on taxes......
if there were no taxes the government would have undergone a collapse like as soon as it started. an another thing, if you dont like how high taxes are now, then just think if a democrat were president....remember republicans usually lower taxes, and democrats raise taxes.

Freedom isn't free-media views Posted June 8th, 2005 in Politics

People in iraq are dying to defend your rights, and i know some of you think "o well iraq didnt do anything to us" well believe what you want....and i know this is one of the worst things i could say but less the 3000 us soliders have died in iraq, but the media is blowing it way out of proportion....and for the record i had two brothers serve with honors in iraq and one of them got a purple heart.....but think about this what about during WW2. a quater of a million us soliders died there but people supported the war. and thats because the media told them to....but only after pearl harbor. those thousands of men died to protect you, and they continue to do so everyday. another example is korea..at the very beginning of the korean war the media supported the war, so did the public....but after 2 years of fighting the media turned against the war and so did the people, yet the men fought on to defend freedom....

PS if anybody found this confusing let me know and ill try to explain it better

The only difference is that when conservatives do it they are right. If you support stem cell research, what you support is taking the life of a living fetus and extracting its code for research. That's wrong.

So you're basically saying that what you value and find to be moral is the correct way to do things? Just because you don't believe in abortion, stem cell research, upon other things doesn't mean that it is wrong to do such deeds.

im a republican who believes in stem cell research, and i openly admit it, but killing a fetus isnt the only way to stem cells, just use the umbilical cord. just for the record im also pro life

did you just compare lincoln to bush? cause...I'm laughing really hard right now. I can't finish this post...

as a matter of fact no i didnt....what i was trying to make was a point, that even though you make feel bush is doing a bad job maybe it will help in the future, just like with lincoln, people did think he did a bad job, but he turned out to be one of, if not the greatest president in history..but in a way yes im comparing them, but not in the way you would think i am, trust me bush wouldnt have the right to lick the shit of lincolns shoes

how presidents are remembed Posted June 7th, 2005 in Politics

You know many people say Bush is the worst president in history, but lets take a trip back in time...During the 1820's Andrew Jackson was considered to be a madman in office, a powerhunger crazy person bent on taking all the power away from the states, and increasing the president's power...but now we look back at him and we realize he laid the foundations for what is the modern Democratic party. Another example is Abe Lincoln. During his his time as president, his ideas were considered crazy. He was critized during the Civil War for putting unfit men in charge of the Union Army. It wasn't until the end of the Civil War that his greatness was truly realized. The point im trying to make is that a presidents greatness can't be measured during his on time period. Very few presidents were instantly reconized as great men. So just maybe what Bush is doing will acctually help the world in the future, or maybe it will damn the world to hell. Only time will tell...

I think you have it all backwards. Look at the Versailles treaty. It really did almost nothing to hurt the German war machine and industry. All the pieces in Germany were in place for another gigantic army. Hitler put the pieces together, nothing more, nothing less.

Stalin, while being a horrible asshole, made the country into a powerful westernized (in a sense) country. He set up and made Soviet industry possible. So he destroyed the middle class, yes. He killed alot, yes. But he made Russsia into a powerful country. They would have been 4x as effective if he wasnt so damn paranoid and decided to kill all his officers before the war : /

Ruling with an iron fist and demanding much, like Stalin, does has its advantages. Like pushing his people to do anything he wants, like make railroads, give up all their property, work in an industrial job, eat little. He made USSR into something.

lol and look at the ussr now.....wait you cant it doesnt exist..........all commie states will fall its just a matter of time. take china for instance if they didnt have the capitalist hong kong they would be broke, and they have the british to thank for that

By the way, have you ever heard of the Cold War? That was pretty close to nuclear annihilation as well. And if anyone threatens the U.S. with nukes, we're fully capable of blowing up every square inch of the earth 10 times over. I'd say there's a pretty constant threat of nuclear annihilation with Bush's finger over the launch button.

well you cant read can you did you even look at my first post that was all about the cold war smart guy

you know what i think is really sad that without really realizing it many of the us citizens love this country only because we can blow stuff up...........THATS NOT RIGHT the only true way to be a great country is to promote peace througout the world, and not have to use military might

bush on stem cell research Posted June 4th, 2005 in Politics

as a republican i totally disagree with the president on the area of stem cell research....this is one of the most important breakthroughs in science in the history of the world.....i mean we could have the ability to save millions of lives of only we had the federal governement with us. everyone here has to agree with me on this. i mean if we dont get in this game fast enough we will be years behind the rest of the world in research. thats lives lost!

these are what i believe to be the three great events n american political history:
1 the cuban missle cisis: this has to be one of the most trying times in our history, never has the world come so close to nuclear annilation
2 the fall of the berlin wall: if it wasnt for ron reagen that wall would still be up thanks to him the mother of commies fell
3 korean war: this was the last war we fought in which the world was behind us, if only we could have done that in the middle east.........

We just invaded a country because they made us angry, and now we are trying to change them into, well, us. You understand what I'm saying right? America is made them hold elections for a president and all that stuff. It's like we are trying to shape the whole world into our image to help everyone, when accually they were doing just fine on there own. Also i beleve that everyone hates us because we are to quick to take action. I mean after 9/11 we all desided to go to war. Did we ever talk to Iraq to see what it was that we did? Nope. That's just what i believe though, if you guys find anything wrong with what i said, i'd be glad to hear it.

if your really gonna try and tell me that afganistan was better before america brought down the taliban then i want some of what your smoking. and with iraq except for the faq zarkawi or w/e his name is, iraq was going very well. the middle east no matter what happens will always hate us for what we believe in and what we do around the world. the beginning of our own country was tough too...the war of 1812, and all sorts of rebellions aswell.

i just want to make to points.........
1. if we would invade any country and make it our own the world wouldnt just sit by and wait for them to be next.....no one country can take us but consider 50 or 60 or 70 countries joined as one.....
2. alot of people are saying about taking canada, but i thought canada was still techniqly owned by englad...........meaning we'd be attacking our own ally
