So ive been "smoking weed everyday" as suggested by snoop dogg and dr. dre and ive also been watching a lot of the history channel, national geographic, etc and now something has happened that i wish never did. My mind has completely changed the way i think about everything.

It all started a couple months ago when i smoked lots of dank one night and got extremely high. I looked down at my hands and the rest of my body and i was like "HOLY SHIT". im a fucking human being. the most complex and intelligent creature on this planet. AND THERES ALMOST 7 BILLION OF US. this really blew my mind. 7,000,000,000 is such a huge number. All with our own minds, point of views, etc....

then i experienced depersonalization. I felt like i was just another animal on planet earth, coexisting with all other life that has managed to form... that i wasnt special in any way shape or form, but just part of the most advanced species on this planet. but I started looking at everything from this point of view. and now i cant stop.

And then i started thinking about all the technologies we have. and then i realized we are the most advanced and intelligent creature to have ever been on this planet, and right now at this very moment, we are at the top of our game. We are getting ready to travel through space to a planet close to our very own... we're learning to recycle through materials so we dont run out, we are clashing atoms together trying to figure out how the universe works, etc.

and everything we do is a cause and the outcome is an effect. Ive been thinking about the causes and effects of everything ive done in my life. And then everything all humans have done that has lead up to this moment. People have gone out and discovered, and created anything they thought of. People are raised, and then they mature somewhere along the way during high school/college and then go out and do things. Whatever they think of. However, we live kind of short lives. We start aging and deteriorating after only 20-30 years in our prime.

Looking at the genus 'homo', i dont believe in God. It just doesnt seem plausible.

Humans are the most intelligent living thing on the Earth. However, it wasnt until recently in the past few hundred years that humans started becoming well educated and learning about how life on earth actually works. And weve been experiencing huge exponential population growth in the population and technology that just started after "the plague".

What ive decided is people created God for things they couldnt explain. And to tell their children fake stories about even if they die, everything is going to be alright, as long as you believe in God. Since death was very common back then, due to disease/sickness, people had family and friends die much more often and at a younger age than in todays world. They had to come up with a reason to cope with all the death...

And now that we are trying to move forward with advanced technologies, we have religion holding us back. some, if not all, war and terrorism is caused by religion. scientific research is being held back by religion.

i cant type anymore...what does everybody think?

Take Linkin Park as an example... Would you try to argue that they are metal because they have some kind of metal influences here and there?

early linkin park was considered nu-metal, which is a fusion genre of metal/hiphop, so therefore yes they were slightly metal. however, if you were to just listen to them, you could barely hear it at all. its most influential. I would definitely label them as more rock than metal. their heaviest song was probably 'hit the floor'

I'm not making all that shit up. The name of the thread is "Best Metal Bands". So right from the start, you know that it's about a genre classification. So don't try to put the blame on me. I'm just stating that a lot of bands mentionned in this thread are not metal.
