Im interested in critiquing some writing. Im not the best but im very open minded and i wouldn't make up shit just to have something to say. i feel that i want to learn to write better myself and by critiquing we can help each other out. Anyways if your interested let me know.

More recent work of mine (just to say i posted something)

Watch me unfold like the pedals of a flower, the mind engulfs, it frowns as it devours.
But thought is temporary, its weak, its fleeting and out of your mouth they leak, your bleeding.

? yeah i got that i think. hmm wait, i don't know what you mean but that wasn't intended to sound sarcastic. Anyways like with all good advice the solution is usually clear but its the doing which is the hard part.

yes haah that was what i was looking for, your song about writers block lol haha i have even already gave it a review. haha well now i will listen to it again. Anyways thanks for your thoughtful response, its really sweet of you to make a motivational audio recording to help deal with writers block.

Lack of motivation does eventually go away; one day you'll just decide you've had enough of this, and you'll create an awesome track.

yes :] that has happened allot before. i would stay away from music awhile, then come back make a track but its getting worse with time. thanks for the reply, i appreciate your support.

yeah that always works. i don't know, i guess my problem is i start to think of having to do everything such as automate and all that good stuff and i cant bring myself to do it. I have a vision in my head but i can never get myself to make it.

At 2/20/09 01:46 PM, sdfmusic wrote: To Help Cebster!

I suggest you take a deep introspective look at your life, find the essence of what makes you, you-- and express it unrelentingly.

i have to say, that's pretty deep man and although it seems to be expressed sincerely it feels as if almost to simple to be a solution. Not that looking at one's own life introspectively is a simple task but just the way you express it. Anyways whenever i make music (at least now a days) i try to put my essence in it....
hmm but a song that expresses me. That's a new thought.
kinda like it.

wait.. now you got me thinking, i don't know if this is what your trying to say or im just over analyzing your advice and creating a tangent. But that ng was the source of my inspiration (caring about scores and what not) and the two run hand and hand. so i was possibly creating music for the wrong reasons?

In all honesty though that the only thing score ment to me was availability of of others to hear my music. But in doing so how much was i making music for myself over for Ng (which comes along with creating music to please others). hmm maybe i do need an introspective look at myself. Even if i did take what you said out of context it still got me thinking ( although it is kinda something i knew all along, maybe now i will act on it more, P.S. just for the sake of my credibility i want you all to know that i would put something out even if i knew people would hate it, im an artist goddammit.)

anyways thanks for your input guys, i appreciate it.

Its sad, last week i was only on newgrounds like five times this week it has only been twice. i could remember a time when i would five bomb myself everyday now i don't really see a point. Even worst yet i have only opened Fl once in the past week, listened to part of a song and closed it. This morning was a good morning, i was hoping for a productive one but its not going so well. My fruity loops folder must be like my brain, full of a bunch of intros to what could potentially be amazing songs but i can ever keep going with them. Fuck... this sucks.

lol yeah i noticed that the saw had a thing for masking all other mid range sounds. But like InGenius was talking about or at least i think he was, i had almost found a way for the viola to compliment the saw giving it more movment i think. anyways ill keep at practice with mixing. thanks again.

Ok so im have been messing around trying to eq all morning just a viola legato and a sawtooth with unison and re verb. trying to see what techniques you guy's while eqing. they both take up allot of the mid freq and higher freq, with re verb off the saw they blend together more nicely (takes away from the higher) but the saw loses allot of its magic. anyways i guess i could just keep playing around but if you have any tips then it would be cool to post your ideas or pm. thanks :}

i would say that i think last weeks top 5 was pretty damn legit

They were ok. I mean can you really look at one piece of work and title an artist. I saw AloysiusRexford i saw his setup< read his blog listened to his tracks. They were all really meaningful and felt like he worked really hard on all of them.

Posted: 11/13/08 09:29 PM

Forum: Audio

so i listen to some of your beats and yeah there pretty good for breakcore well i guess as you would say "God". i messed around with the genre before and i have to say it's not to hard once you get the hang of it, but that's a big issues. sure it does take some originality and defiantly takes skill but i think back to it as the concept of taking a picture of a sculpture, is that art? i mean essentially your taking other sounds and making a new one but it was still never yours to begin with, unless of course you record everything then chop it up. Even then not only is it horribly hard to follow but most of the time its just not good music. I feel that it substitute's music with anger, as in maybe giving the user an adrenaline rush as opposed to having any type of foundation. yeah i do find some breakcore bearable but its much harder to create other genres.

Posted: 11/08/08 02:55 PM

I wish this thread would get locked now because its useless. Its going to be a continuous battle front of worthless opinions expressed through flame. Even by using logical well thought out argument it still is just opinion and in the end simply doesn't accomplish anything. The people that have something against him can ether hold it against him forever or get over it.

When he returns he said he will do a public apology and if that's not good enough and people still want to zero bomb him for the rest of his life then fine, that's just what will have to happen.

I just have one last worthless opinion to drop though. You cant hate someone for something they did your whole life. I mean think about it, what does that make you? Acting mature and finding an understanding for something know is not right is very hard, but he didn't choose to run away. Its so easy to escape from the internet, he could have just as easily dropped off the face of the earth without fessing up. In my worthless opinion he took a stand and started rebuilding on the right foot. With that note i understand that it doesn't make what he did right, but from what i heard when i talked to him and what i have seen his friends say this ordeal was not about publicity as much as it was about acceptance. Have you ever tried to credit yourself with something that's not yours? i have before and i gotta tell you its not for the "feel" that people are arguing he did it for.

jrhager84
You know im am an aimless admirer of you logic, truly you are a genius in my opinion. I have read through your post and of course they are all brilliant and seem pure. When he returns im sure you will express how you feel and i bet he will read through it, understand it and life will move on. But i just want to know why you think he did it? I mean logically. Could someone really steal work, present it as their own, become famous and live a life without that tiny little fear that creeps. Knowing that he will always have to look over his shoulder because there's people out there that know the truth.

PeterSatera
I would say this is a tough argument and entering the song in a compition i think is more publicity. But is that a good reason to stay mad at someone? That's just making it into a competition and we don't want to continue in this mind set. Who's better than who, Or because of him i lost. Its just not a good mind set.

There are a handful of people who cannot take any form of criticism at all and ruin it for those who do choose to review and tell them the truth about their music, and being able to flag a reply would balance out some of this review nonsense

I believe the ap has bigger issues such as zero bombing. The review scores don't really effect a song and if someone doesn't want to take criticism well then they don't have to they can sit there with crappy music. besides half the people leaving reviews are not good critics even when they think they are.

Thats totally not justified. He's still the same person, just with a "blip" in his rep if you will. But trashing him won't change anything, and I understand sticking up for him won't either, but it's not right to kick someone when they're down like this.

i agree with this. I have been seeing allot of people saying " i thought he was cool" like he changed or something. He would always take the time to help anyone who needed it so im guessing people acting negative towards him didn't really know him.
