Yes they are.
Well, temperature's dropped into the 20s-30s, no snow though. Now it's getting weird, right now it's 53 out.
Poor SC barely gets any snow, just once every few years. :'(
Hmph, I'm glad I stopped using the Wii to get online. It has Flash 9, but you can't do crap with it anyway. The damned channel limits you to flash memory instead of the RAM, so you can play Modern Warfare and Super Mario Galaxy, but you can't watch any Flash movie that's over a few megabytes.
Working browsers FTW!
Ah, okay, simple stuff, I getcha. Thanks!
Anyway, people are right, don't use a vcam to make a game, if you want to move everything around with ease put it all within a container and move the container.
Well, I'll look at that. I'll try out what may work, and if it doesn't (and it probably won't) I'll do the container method. What do I do for that, just group everything, scale it, and code it to move with my character's MovieClip?
Hi guys, I'm working on a Flash game (well, learning to program in AS2 and soon to work on it), and while looking through the tutorials, found out about the VCam. I figured that this would make it easier to make some scrolling games, but some people say it f***s up the coordinates. (I doubt that since it just supposed to move the whole stage.)
My first question is, if I have a MovieClip on stage, are the coordinates of it taken from the view of the original stage, or from the view of the VCam?
My second question, does the same thing apply to cursor coordinates?
Any help is appreciated guys! :D
I was getting ready to ask an AS2 question in the Flash forum when I caught my error and just went back to my page and voila! Snow!
Also, why isn't Frosty driving the tank?!

Watch out for low clearances...
Cue surfing music.
Why not just re-make it in Flash, with shapes and all that, using the original audio?
Plus the original would be removed since it's not your own work.

I think he pretty much summed it up. Except the stealing stuff and posting as your own. That applies to ALL the portals, not just Art.
And shouldn't there be something about using copyrighted audio in Flashes? We have the audio portal for a reason, you know.
Also, a little FYI, the Seven Deadly sins is only in the Catholic denomination, so far as I know.
Sadly, my mom always waits until about the 22nd before getting a Christmas tree. And then my dad complains about the height, and I'm stuck with fixing the lights and such. It does look good after all the decorating and such, but then we take it down about 3 days after Christmas. Ah, well, at least my sisters don't try to eat the ornaments anymore. :P

This. And the game looks pretty sweet too. Kinda wish I had a 360 or PS3 so I could play it. :'(
I wouldn't say I'm a total noob. (At least I don't spell and use grammar like one.)
You must appreciate your past noobish selves though, for without that, you may have never improved.
Two inappropriate shirts I've seen:
- shadow of a rabbit ****ing a duck, followed by the text "Wrong."
- picture of a cartoony sausage kicking a soccer ball, followed by the text "Always play with your weenie."
I'd prefer to buy a vowel.
What I play?
- piano
- trumpet
- guitar (working on it)
- harmonica
- keyboard synthesizer
- drums (newbie)
What I like?
anything but country
- Nirvana
- Metallica
- Linkin Park
- Green Day
- Foo Fighters
- Judas Priest
- Beastie Boys
- Run DMC
- NewGrounds Audio Portal
- a whole frickin' bunch of others I can't name on the spot
I also tend to make music, using computers mostly, unfortunately. At least I don't make it sound like complete crap. :)

Pretty cool. Maybe add a little detail on the obstacles when you're finishing. The looping background is a bit glitchy, decreasing the embedding width may fix it. Maybe add a secondary background to add more depth. Also when you jump into the side of the wall, you end up back on top. Maybe change this so you can grab the ledge and pull yourself up and accelerate from zero again?
I have a question regarding Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Flash 8. If I draw something in Illustrator, can I copy and paste it into Flash? I know they're both vector-based and use similar tools, but I just want to be sure, since there was the whole Macromedia-Adobe takeover thing...
It's probably a better idea to have the background move only when the foreground is moving, rather than the main character. Not exactly sure how I would code it just yet, I'm new to AS2 as well. :)
So here's what I can tell you...
When you have left key down:
- check a hit test to your left before you move
- if your character can move left, do; otherwise, don't move
Right key is almost the same, except you switch out "left" with "right"
If your character is moving:
- move the foreground to match (x and y)
- move the background half as much as the foreground (x/2 and y/2)
Hope this helps!
Well, at least you got a decent car that gets good gas mileage without looking like a total fagmobile.
I would've gone with something more utilitarian though, like a Toyota Hilux.
Yup, pullin' out that pict again...
Is someone trying to be funny here? Admins?
That would ruin half the song.
and leave less sweat on the stage.
I have a vicious alpaca. Does that count for anything?
Internet Warriors
An ongoing story about the flame wars that go on in 'net forums, acted out, of course.
Really?
I find it ironic that the guy's name is Tofu.
Well, you screwed yourself over with the "self-defense" thing, schools don't want you to defend yourself anyway. You should've said something along the lines of "I forgot it was in there." Sorta happened to me once. I had a wooden stake in my bag that I was gonna use to ring a cowbell I brought for a pep rally, pep rally never happened. The stake stayed in the bag and was forgotten until we got searched one day, and of course they found the wooden stake. They asked me what it was for, I told them I was gonna use it on a cowbell in a pep rally that never happened and forgot I left it there. Just a confiscation and a warning and I got off scotch-free.
tl;dr: Shoulda told 'em you forgot you had it.
My computer, flash drive, phone, phone charger, printed examples of how to use Actionscript, paper, mechanical pencils, scanner...
