If they see a bunch of Asian faces, or Indian faces, or whatever, then they just think "This is something I could get from any local movie."

Personally, anyone who is farmilar with the source material will probably feel the same as Takei on this one.

Hate to bring up a thread that's kind of already been solved, but I'd like to make a point on something. Don't be afraid to screw around with trying new things, especially if you're just taking on a personal project and not under the gun to get it done or anything.

When it comes to programming, you'll find tons of situations where you'll have multiple solutions to a single problem. One solution might be better than the others and some might have the same end result across the board. It helps though, to understand multiple solutions to a problem because a certain solution may work next time where the others won't.

Generally, tooling around with stuff means screwing it up, figuring out why it's screwed up, and then fixing it. In my personal experience, however; that's the basis for learning how to program. Trying something, failing miserably, learning what screwed up and then fixing it.

The law stills holds someone accountable for their actions under the influence of alcohol/drugs. If it's your first time drinking, you don't have to get black out drunk. It's called self-control.

bullshit. a melee weapon is not a gun. it takes time for someone to reach their target using melee, which gives them a marginally larger window of time to whip out a taser instead. and that's if they are indeed threatened on a daily basis, which i highly doubt. well, i suppose it depends on the city... still, in my city the lethal-type crime rate is low.

First - what does religion have to do with any of this? Also, a melee weapon can still be deadly, however; the lethality of a weapon is irrelevant to my point. My point is, if you're dumb enough to attack a police officer. I honestly couldn't care less if your stupid ass got killed.

T2 sealed the plot perfectly. There was nothing that needed to be addressed any further.

No, it's not illegal. It's against NYPD policy, but not illegal. So you can't charge him with a crime if the law doesn't exist to make it illegal. If you want to charge him with a crime for choking someone, then you need to pass a law that makes it illegal. This law does not exist in NY.

It would be a shame if something like this passed. I honestly can't believe that our society as a whole doesn't look at situations like this and go "Oh well, the officer is trying to arrest him and the idiot is struggling." but instead it's "OFFICERS SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO TOUCH PEOPLE, THEY'RE BREAKING THE LAW BUT DON'T TOUCH THEM." How do they realistically expect officers to be able to enforce the law against people who resist/intend to hurt officers without hurting them?

Use common sense, people are actually trying to kill Police Officers on a daily basis. They know this, so they have to be on edge at all times because it only takes once to get killed. Use your brain and don't make the officer feel as though their life is threatened.

I think you're just parroting what anyone remotely interested in Japanese culture is already told repeatedly. It is my understanding that people visiting Japan, they are really polite. On the other side of that coin, for people wanting to actually live there I've heard it's an incredibly daunting issue as trying to inject yourself into their culture they get really high strung about.

Housing discrimination is often a huge issue for people wanting to move there who don't have connections, if you're not friendly with someone there they simply won't sell you a home.

Once you get each line, you can take each line and put it as part of a String Array. This will give you each line as an individual string. From there, you can sort everything out programmatically by using the String functions within .NET.

I'll be around if you have anymore questions.
When you said "Once you get each line you can take each line and put it as part of a String Array" but how do I go about taking each separate line and taking the values from it?

Like I mentioned before, you can take each string from the array and break it apart using .NET string functions.

For example.

// Please note, this will be a VERY ROUGH idea of what you'll be doing. I'm not an expert in C# but I do know how to get around to some extent.

//Just a rough concept of what your end result will be when you finish putting into an array
// You'll probably be cycling through each line in your file while reading it and adding into the array.
string[] fileContents = file;

//This line creates a string for line "Triangle A"
//This variable should look like this -
// Triangle A: 70.7107 122.4745, 44.8288 219.0671, 141.4214 244.9490
string triangleA = fileContents[0].ToString();

// We remove the "Triangle A: " from the string, now it looks like this 70.7107 122.4745, 44.8288 219.0671, 141.4214 244.9490.
// This is kind of a rough way of performing this as this will only work if you have "Triangle X: " with X being a single letter.
triangleA = triangleA.Remove(0, 12)

// We take the previous triangleA value and Split it into another Array.
// Now, each number has it's own seperate string.
string[] triangleAArray = triangleA.Split();

You may need to run a .Trim/.TrimEnd on the final string results in triangleAArray to get rid of some of the white spaces. However, at the end of that you'll have a list of each individual value for Triangle A, you should only need to repeat for each Triangle in the list.

I'm not in a good position to refine my code and research it, most of this is coming from some quick memory, but that should be a general idea of what you'll be looking to do to obtain each number as an individual string.

Response to: Changing car insignias? Posted November 12th, 2014 in General

This certainly isn't a new trend. It's been happening for as long as people have been modifying their cars. The earliest example I can think of off the top of my head are NSX owners of the 90s.

In Japan, Honda released the NSX which was a cheaper mid-engine car. It was pretty popular in it's hayday and a lot of people in the States wanted it. They did release the NSX in the States but it was sold under the Acura brand, which is Honda's luxury brand. There were plenty of people who took off the Acura logos/emblems and stuck Honda emblems on them simply because that was the original variant of it that came out in Japan.
