im asking someone if they can please do it 'causally', so fortunately there is no pay

Hey,
Im half way through making a new game called VIRAL!
Basically the main game concept is one of those 'eat the smaller, dodge the bigger' kind of game but with some awesome addon features like campaign, stats, customization and sandbox mode just to name some.

So, im here asking if anyone would like to help me with the character and animation.
It's just a casual thing and im not pushing you and you don't need to be good, just better than me :)
All i want is just some drawings (and simple animation) that will be used for the enemies, player and environment.

if you are at ll interested please reply.
thanks allot.

Response to: Help me with Pivot Posted July 4th, 2008 in Game Development

People turn pivots into swf by importing the gif into the flash authoring tool and publishing it,
but i seriously recommend making an animation in flash as pivot animations never go down well.

Actionscript Variables Posted June 29th, 2008 in Game Development

and

myVar = "Something";

thanks in advance.

what does that mean?

What I need is a way to remove movieclips from the stage during the game is running (not while I am making the fla - while people are playing the swf)

Hi, anyone know how to destroy movie clips?
For example, there is a ball attached to a string attached to the mouse that can be swung around by the user moving the mouse in certain ways (<-- thats what i have) and I want the player to be able to swing the ball into stars or something that give them points...

Does anyone know the best way to do that kind of collision (just basic hittest?) and does anyone know how to remove the star mc from the stage once it has been hit?

thanks in advance :)

Response to: Ball Rolling? Posted June 23rd, 2008 in Game Development

yeah, okay thanks for the advice...
maybe Ill try making something simpler first!

Ball Rolling? Posted June 22nd, 2008 in Game Development

Hi,
Can someone help me with some rolling/physics code?

What I mean is - there is a ball controlled by the player that is affected by the shape of the ground (hills=hard to go up, dip=rolls down gains speed, vertical=bounces off)

Anyone have an idea? I'm going to try and avoid having to use one of those huge flash physics engine things so if anyone can help that would be AWESOME!

thanks allot.

Response to: Is the Wii lame? Posted May 28th, 2008 in Video Games

loads of people will say xbox is better and others will say PS3 but you have to keep in mind that the Wii is aimed at a lower aged audience and that is why the is no BLOODBATH GAME No.2 on the Wii

the Wii is for kids - XBOX360 is for gamers - PS3 for... um... old people?

Halo 3 is best for awesome multiplayer and a huge replay factor!

lol Microsoft is getting slacker by the minute and the towel trick is just a hoax!

Red Ring... Of Death!! Posted May 23rd, 2008 in Video Games

Hi,
The other day I was happily playing Orange-Box when I went to take a break (in the real world) when I got back and turned on my 360... i... got... the red ring of death (rrod) :( :(

Basically for all you people that are lucky enough to not know what it is, well it's 3 red lights flashing on front that litteraly mean "Im a XBOX 360 - Kill me Now!", or what Microsoft calls it "multiple systems failing at once" (typical Microsoft)

I just called Support and they say I have to send my wonder device to the magical xbox repair land where mystical gypsies feast on microsoft-points all day long...
but anyway,
Before I send it to them anyone know some tricks to get it working again? Or some nifty language to get some... "compensation" from MS - my friend said he got 3 months free xbox live after repairs

what do you think?

good idea - ill try it!

it's not that easy - windows and mac use totally different programming systems, it's like telling a german person to dance in japanese

I'm not exactly sure if you need it. But it's definitely a precaution i would take when making a program based on another person's material.

Hell, maybe they'll even make it official for you if they think it's legit?

who should I be asking permission from?

also: does ANYONE here have a mac? Thanks for saying it's cool but if not enough people have a mac there is no point

Newgrounds Notifier for mac! Posted May 7th, 2008 in General

Howdy!
NG is pretty awesome and I like how I get the top portal things without having to go to the site but having to logonto my email to check kinda defeats the purpose anyway!

So Im attempting to make a Newgrounds Notifier for mac! Everytime a new top 5 is made a slider pops out of the top left of the screen easily showing the top entries

tell me what you think (img linked) feed back would be great: interface, options etc
(ps. im gonna try get it to use the xml/rss feed)

im gonna go post this at the general forum for more ideas from other people...
