I have, I actually really like the art style. Which is weird because it seems like that's one of the major complaints about the game.

I dig the art style, but I'm not really a graphics whore. It looks like it'll be fun to play. I probably won't buy it though, looks like nothing more than an enjoyable rental.

Made me chuckle, helps that the art is much better than most of the comics that get posted here in the forums.

I finally downloaded Skype today, because Nae and my mum keep pestering me to get it. So next time there's a big orgy someone let me know.

Scetch you think all games look like shit.

I think Brink looks like it could be pretty cool, but I've only seen the initial gameplay videos. It's just basically Mirrors Edge with more emphasis on gunplay right?

I'm also a huge movie buff, so the whole "interactive fiction" thing really appeals to me.

I almost always paint with acrylicz, and I've never known it to be all that glossy. You could always just put a matte finish on it when you're done if it's that much of a problem.

I personally find ps3s menu to be easier to navigate than 360s, but I don't play 360 too much so I don't have much experience with it.

Posca: The character and such is cool, but the quality is pretty bad. Clean it up and you'll have something solid.

Tieseit: Looks good, not really a fan of the tentacles though. They seem kind of sloppy and really take away from the well done faces in the middle. Try working on them a little more.

ZaneZansorrow: You have to make your piece on one of the 3 preset backgrounds supplied in the first post, or on a piece on lined paper that is the same size as the 3 preset backgrounds.

My only gripe is that there isn't a lot of the notebook paper in the piece, which is kind of the main theme of the whole collab. I don't know anything about gimp, but does it give you the option to lower the opacity on your layers so the background shows through a little bit? At least in some spots.

tgvulture08: Not enough of the actual notebook paper is visible, try and actually make it work with the lined paper in the composition.

Nickola93: I like the drawing, what did you draw it in? Any chance you can smooth up the lines a little bit, and maybe lower the opacity so some of the lined paper is visible underneath it.

Dillinger Escape Plan (kinda metalcore...sorta, but still awesome)
Everytime I Die
With Blood Comes Cleansing
Job For A Cowboy
Devil Wears Prada
All Shall Perish
The Chariot
Dethklok (dethalbum 2 is surprising good IMHO)
Soilwork

At 2/7/10 05:07 PM, Peglay wrote: thanks for the tip, but i think i have the necessary tools and clay to do this

You just have to be insanely careful when baking the vinyl. I did a Munny a year or so ago that involved extensive sculpting, and the piece that's under the neck that snaps into the body warped when I cooked it and wouldn't fit into the body properly anymore. It almost literally turns into like playdough when you cook it at the temperature needed to bake clay.

Sculpting is just a lot of hassle and has the potential to ruin your Raffi, so just be really careful. I personally always find it more interesting to see what people can do and come up with without actually altering the base in any way.

That's a lot more effort than I'm willing to give a demo. In my mind a demo is supposed to be trying it's hardest to make me want to buy a game. Releasing a multiplayer demo that blatantly doesn't work pretty much cemented it as a future rental in my book.

I don't know if you've actually tried sculpting/cutting into vinyl toys before, but it really isn't that easy. Cutting more so than sculpting, it's not easy to do it and make it look clean. Sculpting on them is kind of hard to, because most good sculpting materials require you to bake them hard. If you want to get that seemless look of the clay on the vinyl, you have to bake the clay while it's on the vinyl. This is pretty tricky because when the vinyl gets hot, it gets really soft and will warp. It can also lightly burn the vinyl, which will change it's color.

Unless you've successfully done it before, I would try and come up with some designs which rely less on extensive sculpting and alterations.

On the subject of lack of competent leaders, I'm in agreement. I hate how many games I go into and our squad leader all but refuses to give fragos, even if I sit there and yell at him on mic. Because of the lack of decent leaders, I started actually applying for squad leader in every game (something I didn't really intend on doing when I bought the game).
