Do we have a pianist? Who's playing the head, solo order - stuff of that nature?
We really need to know who's with us on this. The only ones i think that are 100% on this are you,SBB and usernamemyarse. (im judging this by the amount of posts of the thread)

Oh yeah, here's the fix'd version.
Thank you

I just thought I was being blatantly ignored since no one acknowledged my offer, but yeah, I'm still down.

I can't remember the name of it but I felt like it had something to do with rain. Anyway, the game had a black and white backround and you had to get around puzzles and stuff to get to the next level, I think he used his mind (yes it was a boy avatar) to move things and it had music to it! HAAAAAAAAAAAALP me find it!

I bet that would be SHIFT.

Also, this barely has anything to do with audio, please keep these kinds of threads to the game/general forums next time.

Why are there points allocated to Japan/Turkey in block 1? Did I misread the voting instructions?

I thought it was forbidden to vote for people in your own block?

Wow, pretty surprised to be on top of the list already, and it'd seem I'll be competing aggressively with my block buddy.

Freakin' dibs on the trumpet part, if Mihai doesn't show up!

I'm a jazz trumpeter, and I'd be glad to participate. I've already got the book, so it's no problem, and I'm pretty sure I could manage that song!

Can't today unfortunately, so I'll have to pass on this one :(
I'll try my best to participate if there's any other by tomorrow or by next week.

Fair enough, just wanted to make sure! ;)

Response to: Question about ID3-tagging Posted March 20th, 2012 in Audio

At 45 minutes ago, LiquidOoze wrote: Ok, let's say I make a remake of a song (not a reMIX, but a reMAKE, so I don't use any material of the original), and want to ID-tag it. Who is the author then? You'd say it would be me, because I made all the sounds from scratch. But I didn't write the melodies and everything, those were made by the original artist, and if you used MIDI's it would get even more complicated because it also might have been someone else who made those (btw I never use those, only in contests). Thoughts?

Generally speaking, in acoustic music, when someone uses material from another song and gives credit to the original author, we call his version an arrangement, and the credit is given like so:

Composed by "Author Name"
Arranged by "You"

So I'd go with the original author as the author, and you as the arranger.

Ah, so you mean the deadline is today, rather than midnight yesterday? I've got a couple of things I'd want to cleanup then, guess I'll get to work!

Time limits do allow for 15 seconds over and under the set time limit, so if you'r struggling with that area try to keep within 15 seconds of the set limits.

Err, my song's 4:26, is that that much of a problem? I GUESS I could cut off certain segments, but I'll only do it if it's absolutely necessary.

Response to: Represent A Country 2012 [Contest] Posted March 18th, 2012 in Audio

Okay, so my piece is coming up to be around 4:20-4:30, as much as I'm trying to compress it as much as possible, is it really that bad, or can I keep the excess?

It'll be for dirt-cheap, too. If they want to get in on the profits, they're going to have to contact me.

I'm thinking $2.99

That's just looking for trouble man. No one's gonna stop you from selling stuff with music made in their program of course, but getting caught will get you in big legal trouble.

Besides, bragging about breaking the law on the internet is probably the most retarded thing I've ever seen. Don't expect anybody to believe you when you'll tell the court you weren't aware of their legal shenanigans.

Well I need more people to contact me and enter their tracks before I can even start to think about organizing it, which is starting to frustrate me a little now. We need 14 acts to get the full score system working... so far we've had 4 entries. So you can see how this is getting a bit concerning.

Make that 5, I'm nearing the end of my track, I'll be posting it somewhere in the next 2 days.

It'd be nifty to know in advance the interview schedules as well as the topics so we can prepare in advance.

BTW, the OP is from the UK too, so, of all the countries, I think that's the last one who'd be discriminated. :\

Also, punctuation much?
Yeah that's ok i guess i just wondered why really and about punctuation this is a forum post not an essay :D

No prob, just clarifying.

As for punctuation, I know I'm just feeding the troll at this point, but really, it's mostly just so that your point gets to whom you're talking to, for clarity and all.

But yeah, do whatever you like, in the end you're the only one affected.
