I'm gonna ask one of mods to close the thread since people aren't willing to be open.

That's it.

I simply think that the planning phase for the competition was rushed. While paved with good intention, ultimately people need to be confident that what they're doing matters, and unfortunately a poorly thought-out judging system discourages all possible contestants.

We're not doing this because we don't want it happening, we simply want this competition to be functional so that everybody has a great time, including you.

We could possibly discuss more about it in the suggestion thread and restart, I'm willing to take part in the planning and possibly judging phase of this competition.

I know this is the audition page, but I'll just leave my two cents since everybody seems confused about the peer review process.

I'd actually propose to go with NeonProject's approach with his RAC Competition. In this contest, people are separated into groups, much like this form, and are asked to provide a top 10 of their favorite tracks from the whole competition except for their own group. I feel this prevents autovoting and pushes people to listen to every track.

Now, of course, this tournament is looking to be much larger, so perhaps the best strategy would be to combine both ideas, and attribute groups to vote on a single other group? (E.g.: Group 1 =Â-> Group 2, Group 2 =Â-> Group 3, Group 3 =Â-> Group 4, Group 4 =Â-> Group 1, etc.)

Response to: Ideas for classical. (Noob) Posted August 2nd, 2012 in Audio

I have absolutely no idea where the heck you're getting at.

You want to learn how to compose classical music? Suggestions as to where and how to use them?

You can't just "remix" a song into classical if you don't know classical theory, so I don't see how any of this is relevant if you don't actually know what you're doing, and seeing as you emphasized the word Noob, I'm willing to bet you don't.

As long as you don't use any sound samples from the original, I'm pretty sure you're good to go.

What exactly is it that you would like us to do? Promotion? Don't really see how we could do anything more than what's already been done.

The art portion... we're still deciding on when to push the deadline to.

So, let's review the situation now. EBF4 is going to be out in September. It's now July. Shall we:

1) start discussing ideas on what we want the Flash to look like, or
2) actually take this discussion to the Flash Portal, all of us, and discuss it there?

Well my computer's dead right now, so I'm in no position to finish my song. Seeing as I'm the last person to finish though, we can say the audio portion is complete, I'll simply send it to Troisnyx when I'm done.

Response to: An idea-- about Epic Battle Fantasy Posted July 1st, 2012 in Audio

I would imagine that we at the Audio and Art Portal would come up wtih ideas for what the Flash would look like -- it is in good timing after all. I've posted Draft 1 on the forums, but this is around the time we talk to the Flash people (collectively). It'll be best for us to come up with an idea, all of us, and then present it to the Flash people. And then, of course, we've got to decide for a date where we actually end the Audio and Art legs of the collab.

Thoughts? Anyone wanna add anything?

I'm fine with that, and seeing as pretty much everyone's done audio-wise, I think it's safe to say that the audio portion is over.

Luwano has posted on the Art Forums reminding us that EBF4 is only gonna be out in September or so. Also, this weekend is the weekend of Game Jam 7, so a lot of people who want to participate in this will be participating in GJ. He suggested that we show the Flash people what we already have starting 1 July, but continue submitting until a later deadline.

I like his idea, but....... what do you think? When should we end it?

Really good idea, though I'd like you to specify what exactly you mean by "showing" the opus, considering everything we've done so far is pretty much open for anyone to see.

In any case, I've had an extreme amount of difficulty getting all of my new equipment to work properly, so I've at least uploaded a WIP to give a rough idea the work done up to now.

It's, as you'd imagine, far from the final product quality-wise, so keep that in mind.

P.S., I'm not taking Abelton Live as a answer.

I'll just say that the DAW is never the problem, it's how you use it, but if it's the interface that's bugging you, I'd recommend using Sonar.

BTW, I've changed plans, I'll be collabing with Jiimaan, a fairly inactive artist here, so you might want to add him to the collab, since I don't think I can do that by myself.

Yes, what track might that be? I've finished the Bullet Heaven medley, but I'm glad to do another. Have you any ideas?

Well I was referring to the vocal part in the score in question, but an actual second score could be interesting.
