Well, if the government kept it's goddamn hands outta there we would have enough, because most Americans have been paying more social security than they will acctually get back, so there should be more then enough, but alas, there won't be... And yes, either we young peoples of the future will have to pay for it, or our parents will just get shafted and get 2 dollars a month after they've been forced into retirement. I personally wouldn't mind paying a few extra bucks in taxes to help, but I think I'm in the very small minority on that thought.

Intelligent, yet still uninformed...

You cannot make any element with a high atomic number than Iron using fusion. Any element above Iron uses fision and radioactive decay until it becomes an isotope of Iron and then it stops. And the same goes with fusion; Small atoms can fuse and grow up until they reach Iron, then no more. The world was NOT created from only hydrogen atoms. And if you don't believe me, conuslt your local nuclear physicist, they shoudl tell you the same.

Response to: That's Gay Posted July 11th, 2004 in Politics

I can understand how many of you still think it is ok to say gay when it doesn't mean Homosexual. But still it's offensive and very mean... It's like if you started to say that's n****r or some shit like. You may not really mean what the word means, but it's still a very touchy subject and still the sound of that word offends many, and when used in such a trivial and negative way it offends others.

Forgot to add this to my last post, sorry.

Why does the fact that aryans existed before greek culture prevent the word "aryan" from sterming from a greek word? Atoms existed long before any humans and still the word "atom" comes from a greek word.

Good point. BUt it still is not related to Greek. Well, it seems that I have lost my notes, but as much as I can remember the term Aryan has much to do with "Iran" and several other aramaic words, rather than greek.

It's definitly not a west coast thing anymore, people stopped using it here several years ago... But from what I hear on these forums and such it is still common in the rest of the US. I personally do not get offended by it. To me it just says something about the person who says it, that they are ignorant of what they are really saying. That or they're using it purely for the shock and could give a shit who they offend.

Aryans are originaly from India, not Turkey. They have no connection to celts. Jews started worshiping their god long before they encountered greeks. How did you get Allah tied up in this mess!?

The aryans are NOT originally from India, they came from central asia, more like Khazakstan, and possibly Iran, they invaded India in the 3rd millenia BC. and they acctually are believed by many to have a large connection with Europe. They are believed to be the first civilization to come from the Indo-European races. But they have nothing to do with the Christian god whatsoever. The gods they are beleived to have worshipped (based on 4000 year old artifacts) are pagan gods, precursors to Hindu gods and were every similar to the gods worshipped in ancient Germany and Europe. And the term Aryan does not stem from any Greek word, the Aryans existed way before Greek civilization.

Why don't we all just face it, this country is a bigotted, hateful, disrespectful, childish, and close minded nation. We essentially do all we can to make the small groups in society become even smaller and less important.

War is an instinct... Most other animals have their own little wars, they fight over food, territory, mating and so on. The only difference is that our wars have become so large that we end up doing much more harm to us and our surroundings with it...

But do I think war is bad... I'm kinda half and half on this issue.

Even some democrats seem to take offence when being called a "liberal." But republicans, however, seem to like being called, "conservatives" and take pride in the word.

Why is the word "liberal" being used as an offence?

That's entirely true...
Studies show that about twice as many republicans labeled themselves as conservative than democrats who labeled themselves liberal... And the study had a darn near equal amount of republicans to democrats (45-55)ish. I personally think that this is a relic of the cold war times when liberal was communist. Therefore liberal got blacklisted. Conservative has not been popoularly labeled as anything bad (see a conspiracy here? I do.) So therefore no negative thoughts come from someone saying they're conservative.

I have to ask... Do you know what an aryan is?

OK as info to any one who thinks they're Aryan, I'll give you a little succint lesson on what an Aryan really is.

No they're not the prefect blond haired, blue-eyed pale white person, they're acctually far from it. The Aryans are more closely related to the peoples of northern India than they are to the people of Germany or the rest of Europe. The Aryans were invaders who conquered ancient India around 3000-2000 BCish. The reason that the Germans originally used the term was because in the times prior to Hitler, the German Orientalists in India were very popular and very interested in the Aryan race. In ancient writings the Aryans say that the "Dasas" or slaves (the indigenous people) were dark skinned and big nosed, thus leading certain Orientalists to come to the far-fetched conclusion that the Aryans were the perfect "white people" which is probably very far from the truth. The Aryans are also considered to origin of Europen humanity and civilization, so the Germans were also trying to say that they were the origianl people to justify their war. The Aryans were more likely from central asia and were probably similar to arabic people in look.
