It's a little bit better, but not really worth the price. You could always download the trial to see if you like it.
you need to put
_root.gotoAndPlay(2)
instead of just gotoAndPlay(2) .
just do a hit test between the player and diespot, then move it to the gameover frame.
if(character.hitTest(_root.diespot)){
gotoAndPlay("GameOver")
//or whatever frame the gameover is
}
You need to actually understand what you are doing, this is very easy stuff.
Try adding _root.
on(release){
_root.gotoAndPlay(36)
}
You should probably just go for the latest version, although it depends if you would be using it for making games or making animations.

I clicked on this thread.
I am pretty sure that means 4000BC, so it would be 6000 years old.

That's two words.
Object: mouse
Action: I click "Post it!"
Don't worry, it won't be long before someone finds out how to bypass it.
You can edit it though flash, what reason do have to edit the file?
You can use an if statement to check if a textbox matches a string, then navigate to the frame needed.
if(username.text == "username" && password.text == "password"){
gotoAndPlay("correct")
}else{
gotoAndPlay("incorrect")
}

You could do either, but it's better you put the listeners in the document class and movement functions in the player class.
Push all the enemies into an array, then make a loop hit-testing each one.
I don't think it's possible to dynamically change the frame rate in as2, but it is possible in as3.
You won't get in trouble, the most they can do is confiscate the book, unless you actually make anything in it.

It works. Why does this need a thread?
Tell us your ideas before it's too late, don't suffer the same fate Jeff did.
I have always found the best way is too get a book on it. They can be quite expensive, but it will teach you everything you need to know basic and advanced. I can recommend Essential Actionscript 3.0
