A fading notion of hope and beauty

Well I started playing music when I was really young, probably around 8. Nothing serious, just messing around. Then when I was around 12 I picked up the drums. At around age 14 I started taking drums and music very seriously, spending 1-2 hours a day practicing drums, and then my free time was spent listening to music (usually while playing video games). One thing led to another, and through some lucky connections, I've now been teaching drums at the local Long and Mcquade (Canadian music store company) for the last 2 years to help me pay my way through college.
Writing music, I probably started seriously trying to write music about a year ago, and I must say it's harder than I thought it would be. However, in the last few months I've been beginning to realize how much I love writing music, and it's something I would love to hone my skills in.
I could never see myself wanting to do anything in life as much as I want to just play and write music. It's the best emotional outlet I can think of, and there's nothing more fulfilling than finishing a song that you've been working on for the past few weeks. Like the song I just finished uploading: "Fading" :D
Music man, there's something magical about it.
Hey everyone,
I was wondering if any of you fine fellows know of a good VST for choral voices, for things such as epic orchestral pieces. Perfect example of the kind of thing I'm looking for would be the choral voices in the Hollow Bastion theme in Kingdom Hearts
Preferably a free VST (if such a thing even exists) or moderately priced.
Thanks guys!
Alright, thanks for your help in clarifying!
Oh and also, how do you get it so people can vote on your music? I don't think of of my stuff has the voting thing on it yet.

Before the scouting system was to be, mods had to check your the stuff you uploaded and approve you. Scouting is pretty much the same thing but everyone's involved.
When someone scouts you, you'll get a notification (i think) which you can accept or decline (idk why you'd decline).
So only one person is needed to scout you.
Alright makes sense, I thought it'd have to be more than just 1 person. Although, the 1 person has to be an already scouted member right?
Can any user recommend you for the audio portal*
...wow I need to proofread
So I'm really new here, and I was just wondering how the scouting system works? Can user recommend for for the audio portal? Also, how many people need to recommend you before you become scouted and your works become public?
For me, the best way to evoke emotion through your music, is by establishing the emotion before you even start writing the song. So for example, when my girlfriend moved back to Germany, all the music at that time was filled with hope that maybe I'd see her again, yet had subtle undertones of grieving, like I'd already realized that it was over. Once the realization that we will probably never see each other again fully sunk in, everything I wrote became sadder. The "hopeful" part of my music was gone. But then as time went on, and I began to see other people again, the emotions in my music shifted to a happier tone.
If you write music to express the emotions you're currently feeling, that is when your music will be the most powerful. However, I find writing music based on the past and previous emotions can yield music almost as powerful.

Errm, apparently you can't edit posts.. Here's the link to the song that I forgot to link in my previous post.

Sneaking through an eerie forest
Wrote some video game style music. A piece where the character would be sneaking through a mysterious forest, perhaps trying to hide from/escape someone, or something.
Thanks for the tips guys. I've never thought of writing melodies and finishing songs to be 2 separate skill sets, but putting it into this context really helps. I've managed to elaborate on a few melodies I've been wanting to work on for a while, hopefully I can have them finished and up on here in the near future.
Hope you guys all had a merry Christmas, and enjoy the new years!
So quite simply, I'm wondering if you all have any tips, trick, or helpful ideas for how to elaborate on melodies to turn them into full songs. Right now I only actually ever turn around 1/10 melodies I come up with into full songs. Despite loving the other 9/10, i find it incredibly hard to elaborate on the riffs and turn them into something more. Any help and ideas are welcome!
Setting a somber, yet hopeful tone
So I wrote a classical piece, something RPG-esque perhaps. All feedback welcome!
