You'll be happy to know that one ended in 0-1 (Roshi@72'), then, with Kaiserslautern's Borysiuk sent off.

Porto just got one star back, González has scored in his re-debut, score's 1-0 at half-time, put a smile on every Portista's face. Portugal's best commentator:
He has a Kasparovian antecipation that puts him 10 seconds ahead of everyone else (...) He seems to feel comfortable playing. - Luís Freitas Lobo
No shit, sherlock. He's home.
Wish there were space\money to bring back a lot of stars. That'd mean taking Meireles back from you, though, and Mou, of course, along with AVB as assistant-manager.
Also, on a worse note, Fábio Faria (Benfica, out on loan) is in hospital after passing out during a training session due to a now-diagnosed heart condition. He's stable, prognosis not yet available.

Making a soccer thread during Super Bowl Sunday? Obviously trying to fool everyone.
Honestly not my intent. I thought the "(with feet)" would be enough distinction, and the objective of the OP is sincere. I apologise if you were confused.

Yeah sure, the entire world calls soccer football.
You are posting on a site based in America and the owner of such said site is also American.
Here. In America. It's called soccer. Period.
We don't care.
If you were serious about this thread and not stupid you would've worded it as such.
Is it a rule? I'll gladly adapt my lexicon while on NG so as to not hurt anyone's sensitivities in the future.

Half-a-Chelsea*. You've got some 4 key players missing.
Me and Ejit are considering a drinking game where whenever the commentators:
a) talk shit about foreign players\staff;
b) jack off to English players\staff;
we'd take a shot. I imagine i wouldn't make it to half-time.

You apparently skipped the long list of gigantic games in the OP. I'll be watching the gridiron "world" superbowl later too.

It's Milano, racism was practically invented there. I counted 3 sleeve-rockets in Roma, it's ended 4-0. Inter's developing a talent for taking 4 goals.

Guess I've fallen out of touch with football
In that case, you might be interested in knowing that Italian football has evolved from the traditionally defensive rigor and discipline to scorelines like February 1st's Cagliari 4-2 Roma and Inter 4-4 Palermo, or today's Genoa 3-2 Lázio.
I don't expect this thread to have an insane turnout of replies or discussion. However, any newgrounder who gives half-a-shit about football will be very, very interested in realizing the following:
This sunday is just about as big for football as it is for the american gridiron version, as you will be able to see here.
There are so many classics and derbies i can't decide which ones to watch. I'll probably watch two at a time in separate windows. Good luck choosing yours.
Milan v Napoli
Roma v Inter
Chelsea v United
Kaiser v Köln
Sevilla v Villareal
Fenerbaçe v Besiktas <- I think the BJK fans' ban from stadia is over, not sure
PAOK v Olympiacos
Kobenhavn v Shaktar
Porto v Setúbal (League Cup) <- "El Comandante" Lucho Gonzáles is back at Porto
Santos v Palmeiras
Russia v Italy (Futsal)
Ghana v Tunisia (ACoN)
Marseille v Lyon
Atlético v Valência
Benfica v Marítimo (League Cup) <- Marítimo knocked Benfica out of the Portuguese Cup
América v Tigres
As a Porto fan, i know one i'll be watching for sure...

You're seventeen. You weren't here "back in the day".
Only adults have been both, which disqualifies underaged people from a valid opinion.

I think the issue stems from the fact that in the US they teach you to write cursive in a very specific manner, as opposed to letting you develop your own form, so it feels like a "regime". I find it a fuckload faster and easier than print face, and i'd say i have equal practice with both. The faster you write in cursive, the more fluid it looks but you'll still understand it, while with print face you have a very low and limiting "top speed", which for advanced classes makes you lose the game quite early.
Also, i do use it for science papers and i've always been a science\tech student.
Hope this shows well on the BBS.

Actually, the reason why they exist is because people don't name their thread titles properly.

Wait, what? That's odd, i've always thought that in any legal document where it says "nationality" you put in the country you're a legal citizen of, not heritage or ethnicity. How would you ask the question "what nation are you a legal citizen of?" in shorter form?
Also, i've always found it funny how Americans whose families have been in the US for generations still say stuff like "i'm German". No, you're not, you're American. Speak German to me. Name 5 German cities. Spell the Chancellor's name properly. But the one that really cracks me up is when a blond blue-eyed girl calls herself a Cherokee princess.
Chuckling facepalm.

After the first half Milan lead by 3-0 and it looked like it was going to be a very one-sided match, but in the second half Liverpool miraculously managed to equalize to 3-3. Finally Liverpool won 3-2 in penalties. It was a very spectacular match from what I remember.
Oh fuck, i remember that one. Epic, and not in the "12 year old just discovered Mentos and Coke" way, i mean epic in the real sense of the word. 6-year late congrats on that game.

I agree with most of what you've said so far, except for this, which i'll have to call you out on.
Not included in the analysis are the 4 minutes of commercials to every 2 minutes of stadium air time to every 7 seconds of game time (rough estimation, clocked it myself, ridiculously small sample universe of just one game, but still, fucking apalling). Will say one thing for the NFL though, it's certainly made TV networks perfect their opening and closing graphics and guitar riffs.
I apologise right now to any Scots here, but...
The longest 130 minutes of my life.
Audio is a bit late relatively to video.
Brits will recognize some living legends like:
Deco weaving his magic in the #10 position,
Derlei who, having sprinted for 130 minutes in Athens to arrive at this final, did it all again to win it with enormous self-sacrifice (you see him being treated for cramps right after scoring),
Vítor Baía between the sticks as the most decorated Portuguese athlete of all time,
the club president Pinto da Costa who leaves due to being too emotionally affected by the game (you see him cry in the VIP box),
Gomes who in the '80s had lost one final and missed the other due to injury wearing a club jersey in the stands right next to Celtic fans,
European president Durão Barroso,
the SuperDragões fan firm is heard in the background d
rowning out the Celtic supporters with chants of "champions... champions... we are champions",
and one little known, inexperienced and greatly disregarded manager José Mourinho, kneeling and crying when the goal is scored.
Yeah, i cried, don't care. Even now, rewatching the last 10 minutes i have a tear and a smile.

But maybe when you are so big on the mainstream radios and such a pop-whore, when you do shit like that, there is just much more people to see and hear it. I don't hear much people complainning about bands like Buchenwald Oven getting any problems for writting lyrics about how great it is to burn jews alive...
Precisely, it's as though as a collective being we like to feel like there's a boogieman we can all agree is the root of all evil who we're fighting a crusade against for great justice so it seems like our lives aren't so boring. But that only works if most people have heard of the boogieman, so right now it's rap, violent video games, gay marriage and gun ownership.
