I never mentioned Samples being Sound FX but I guessed you were talking about Sound FX -> " (to use them as sound-effects in their games/movies)"

This is different, because samples aren't a musical genre.

I never said they were a Musical Genre too xD

Ooooo! :P

I will have to download this for sure, what version of Kontakt 5? I only have 5.0.3.5812, just making sure it wasn't made on a version above. :)

Find 'Royalty Free Sound FX' on the internet... There are many websites that provide free Sample FX and its easy with the license. You just have to credit who's sound FX it is... There is a lot of Sound FX packs from specific people so you don't have to give credit to loads and loads of different people for different sounds.

It is easier than making a whole new category to the forums.

Working now. These are good stuff, that's wise of you making these free.

That means a lot to me. Thank you.

I would sell it but I have had big problems with figuring out to sell big downloads.

SO I thought I would be nice and the first library I am selling will be on Disc just to save hassle. (And it works out the same price of setting up a account to sell big downloads online!)

Free Amateur Piano Library!!! Posted September 1st, 2013 in Audio

I have released a free piano library which is very basic, hence why I am releasing it for free...

The design/UI is very novice like and not very professional as seen on the website.

Here is the link: http://brandonspendlove.wix.com/centralcomposersnew#!freedownloads/cyjn

The piano library consist of 5 different velocity layers (FF, F, M , P and PP)

There is nothing fancy about different mic positions or any advance script but I wondered if any one would find it useful for a free product. I personally think it could be useful for beginners or 'Pop' composition.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

This instrument patch will only load on Kontakt 5.0.3 versions and above so don't bother downloading it if you don't have that version or above...

All the samples are in .wav format (I should of converted them to NCW for size compression but oh well...)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The download is split into 2 parts.

Each part contains half the samples for the instrument patch and if you don't follow the installation instructions clearly then it will not load properly.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT NOTE: DOWNLOAD PART 1 AND 2 OF CENTRAL PIANO. THESE BOTH INCLUDE THE SAMPLES FOR CENTRAL PIANO.

Once you have finished the installation from the setup.exe Drag the samples from PART 1 into the installation Directory (Default: C:/programfiles/CentralComposers) inside the Central Piano folder.

Then drag the samples in PART 2 and you will be asked to merge the folder. If this is not done then half the samples will not load in the instrument patch.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The setup.exe will install the instrument patch and other resources to where you direct it after typing the serial password (Sorry for time wasting, I just wanted to test it out... Just C+P (<-- Haha get that? Central Piano??....) the serial key.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope some people enjoy it! I want to work on a more advance script and different positions for variation and more choices for you guys soon. I might also work on a Metal/Rock riffs library similar to 8Dio's Apocalypse Guitar (I think its that)...

Yes, I am shit at web designing so any comments on that would be appreciated to make it better!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, what is the best way to sell libraries online?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for reading!

I will be updating the site to centralcomposers.com once I have actually made a couple of libraries worth selling. I HAVE a long journey of sound design and ideas to come!!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

HINT HINT, I am also looking for a partner to work with on Kontakt Libraries. I want to learn as much as I can because I really want to take this seriously and get in depth with selling Kontakt Libraries.

Over the past year, I have been inspired by 8Dio and Daniel James. I really enjoy Daniel Jame's videos and his new product is insane, I wish I had it.

In the review thread, we only post our songs that are on NEWGROUNDS because we can 'Review' them on here.

Is what I mean. :(

But I am with you on that request. I would like one too!

At 9/1/13 06:34 AM, Axel7 wrote: hi there, as the title suggests, I'd like to request that the soundcloud player be enabled for direct play from the link.

The reason being that it would be conveniant to have a quick access song for instance in signatures or in the "review" section or any other of those high traffic forums where seeing so many MAY discourage one from checking all of them out.

I don't think the Soundcloud player can be embedded into our post or the signature. I am only aware that if you post a Newgrounds audio link then it will appear more neat and for easier access. In the review thread, we only post our songs that are on Soundcloud because we can 'Review' them on here. You can not review songs on Soundcloud, only comment.

But if there was something that happened so we could provide our Soundcloud link in a more neater way, I would bombard the review thread. xD

I also heard its good to print of Bach Chorales and actually play them and of course! Analysis them! So I am back to studying Chorales!

Bach Chorale Research Posted August 31st, 2013 in Audio

So I started to study Bach Chorales in school roughly around 2 years ago and wanted to share a lot of what I have learned through my Music Teacher.

All the information might not be all right because my teacher told me loads and expected me to remember everything without any paper :( I AM SO SORRY if I say something and its not correct, I am pretty sure a lot of people studying Orchestration or even Bach Chorales will find this information useful.

I think all this information also applies to when starting to study Bach Chorales. When you study them in A-Levels, you have to take the rules seriously to avoid problems with the examiner.

Here it goes:

S
A
T
B

S A T B are 4 voices that are used in the Bach Chorales.

Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass = In the order of their pitch ranges... (Go look at what there pitch ranges actually are)

Chord Construction = Using scale degree traids to form the chords of the phrase? (Something like that)

Spacing in a chord : The notes are not to exceed distance between the voices except Soprano and Bass (because they are far apart from each other quite often when writing)

-------------------------------------

RULES of DOUBLING :

Doubling notes should only occur with the most stable notes of the traid

The most stable notes in the traid are most commonly, 1st and 5th.

Double the root if possible

Doubled fifths = if warrant by voice leading consideration

In Chord V and VII you should never double the 7th (Makes the voices weak)

Soprano and Bass (Outer voices) define the Chorale texture

Alto and Tenor (Inner voices) play as the 'support role'.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parallel motion is weak in the outer voices (Although its strong in the inner voices)

Parallel motion is when 2 voices move the same way at the same distance...

eg parallel 5ths (WHICH ARE 'NOT' ALLOWED!)

Similar Motion is 'stronger' than parallel (Similar motion should be avoided in outer voices)

Similar Motion is when intervals move in the same motion but not at the same distance

Example : C - E and D - G

Oblique motion is when one voice stays on the same interval as the other moves another way:

EXAMPLE : C - E and C - F

Contrary Motion is when voices move in the opposite direction - This is a very strong motion with the inner voices.

EXAMPLE: C - E and B - F

---------------------------------------------------------------

Advantage of empathizing the independence of voices involved - Very strong but takes procedure over stationary one :

(Basically causing problems if you focus to much on only one voice, it will lead to weak harmonies)

Parallel motion is forbidden with octaves and perfect fifths (My teacher said this rule has changed now? I am pretty sure it has).

---------------------------------------------------------

VOICE CROSSING :

Alto must never be higher than the Soprano. ----|
Tenor must never be higher than the Alto. ----| IN THE SCORE............
Bass must never be higher than the Alto. ----|

When composing with Bach Chorales - Concern from the outer voices IN A NORMAL MANNER...
If you create the voices in the outer voices to be very strong, it may lead to problems when introducing the INNER voices.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Succession of the 'four voice chords': "All four voices move in rhythmic unison -> This does not apply to every part in the Chorale. It is just good to bring all the voices to RHYTHMIC Unison at some parts. (Rhythmic unison is when all notes are moving together at the same time)...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Open Chord Positions: Positioning voices evenly across the SATB in a chord which is not too spaced out.

Closed Chord Positions : Positioning the voices so the S A and T voices are fairly close together (Like a block chord...)

THIS is all I have in my head and in my little study book at the moment... If I have not explained anything properly, ask me or feel free to do so yourself.

This is not a lot but hopefully it will get you started/or add to your 'Theory sucks' File cabinet up in that brain! :)

Can someone do me a favor please Posted August 28th, 2013 in Audio

Hey I am asking for a small favor to see if something I have scripted works in Kontakt....

This is for anyone who has version 5.0.3.5812 otherwise the instrument patch will not load....

I figured out how to create one instrument that has the custom text 'Rock Loops Part 1' where you can click and it will load the samples from the group... (NOTE that there is only 1 group to see if this works )

(Pretty easy but took me a while to figure out)....

Don't worry about the effects or the design, nothing is near finish so don't say that the FX don't work and the interface is just a thing I am working on atm... (I AM shit at graphic design so if any body knows anyone who can create good wallpapers then give me some contact details.)

Here is the download link: (Hopefully it works)

http://www.mediafire.com/download/dupdjvzr1r4ad8n/Drums_interface_test_in_progress.rar

Once you have downloaded... Place it anywhere and find the instrument patch in the Kontakt Browser bar under the Folder 'Instruments' that is inside the 'Test' folder.... You will come across a 'error'.. just direct the location to where you put the download and it will load....

Once it has loaded up you can not play any samples... Click the 'Rock Loops Part 1' to load the first group....

DOES IT WORK? xD

It should load up some samples that you can now play? Hopefully....

Tell me if it does/doesn't work.

----------------

Thanks for people who will do me a favor.

P.S.. I am not using this to sell or to work on, its just a little demo to see if the script works....
