EWQL Strings are wicked.... (Hollywood Strings.. Although I am happy with EWQL SO gold)
(8Dio) Adagio Violins - I am happy with just the violins at the moment but I will be saving up for the others... Although the only thing I think is it lacks the length of sustain...
LASS - You can get good quality if you mix it right, it sounds not all that straight from the Instrument patch from Kontakt but I like a few patches...
Symphobia 2 is powerful for Full string phrases or to power up the cinematic feel and you can work dynamics with the mod wheel which is easy...
I recently bought action strings and I love it (It is little phrases, not sustain patches.... Different rhythmic bows and patterns... Very useful to add to a collection of strings)
Some others that I have not really tried but I would defo recommend 8Dio... Seriously... There stuff can be worthy more than a lot of libraries out there...
I have 5 8Dio products so far and I already have got addicted to start a collection from them... I am happy with each one... :)

Mac = Shit and overpriced.... Some dumbasses go out to buy a Mac for £1,000 and don't realize they can get the same specs with windows for almost half the price... You are only paying for the Mac Logo literally....
Don't be afraid to say that Mac is shit because I would never say its better, maybe for specific roles but not as one whole computer/laptop...
-External sound card, which I've tried a couple, including my pod x3live, but it is a bitch to switch back and forth for other things I need to do.
I would say a external sound card would be a easy way to stop this... But remember, there is no possible way to remove latency, no matter what there is always latency, the best bet would be to reduce it as much as possible...
Any one else have any luck?
I have not done any 'performing music' related thing on windows 8 (because its shit, I personally hate it... So many bugs with windows 8 in general...)
I would say stick to 1 external soundcard and look around youtube for advice and demos. There was a guy ( I think he is called 'HomeStudio.. or something similar) that done reviews of gear like soundcards, instruments, software, plugins etc...
Do some heavy research and I bet you will find a solution along with the help others will give you.
what do I need to do to overcome some of this? I've been playing 6 months everyday... for atleast 4 hours a day. and I feel like I rather need to find some acid to understand what it's all about... or take lessons... which I don't have the money for either.
Have a little break... I had a break from my Piano for about 2 weeks and instantly played a song (Which I have been learning)... I always find practicing too much can cause muscle strain or just a headache... I find it better to have a break like when you go to the gym...
IF you workout at the gym all week, you need at least 2 days off unless you can hurt your muscles. Why not take a break for a day or two and see what you can do when you come back...

Its brilliant with a video, you import the video and choose what external player to use.... If you have a dual screen, its really good if you move the video to one screen...
Ooooohhh :) Look forward to try this :P

Cubase... I have worked with it since day 1 and loved it... Great to work for Scores especially with real time midi...
Learn how to use Cubase and your outcomes will be as good as you want it to be (also this applies to 97% of all the other DAW'S)
Sorry, its not an error... What was I thinking > :(
Hey!
This is a very common error that happens on here at Newgrounds.
You have done nothing wrong, your song will come up when you have been scouted for the audio portal. The error mainly occurs with un-scouted people so just be patience! :)
I finally decided to challenge myself to write a fugue for this project... xD
It will be a damn good challenge and a good experience... I have only create 1 fugue that actually takes off somewhere... So, do you mind if I write a fugue? xD

1 quick question...
I have been having some trouble with college lately and I dropped out doing a B-tech lvl 3 in Music performance because the teachers are complete twats. I went there with a old music teacher and he ended up having a major discussion about there music department and how they teach....
The course was the 'equivalent' of 3 a levels but they were teaching basic standard GCSE music...
(Southend college by the way). I left and now I have been put off because I recently visited 2 more colleges for studying music and they said they would prefer people who play pop/rock...
What the actual hell? I said I wanted to study at least a tiny bit of Orchestration/Classical or even soundtrack and I looked up on there websites and they said that they would take on people who want to learn classical...
They basically turned me down because I did not want to spend 2 years learning to play pop (I was not even complaining about pop because if it would be just to get down my qualifications on some paper, then I would of be happy to do so)..
It has really just put me off and then I tried looking in about studying a degree without any formal eduction (A levels, although they would prefer it), a lot of Uni's near me would also accept grade 8 ABRSM in Piano and Theory and to demonstrate a wide range of knowledge if you want to do a foundation degree (without any A levels)...
Is it possible to study a degree without A levels?? I just broke down about the course and I thought I would study personally at home and with the help of my old secondary teacher.
The thing is, my Nan (lol) told me she would help pay for my degree if I can get the placement so I really want to study a degree (Not just so I can go around and be up my own arse about it, but I really want the experience of studying the degree no matter how stressed I get)
Hopefully I can study a degree when I get older :(

I see the potential of Symphonic Choir. Just the crashes let me down.
OH shit I forgot to mention... I don't have the play version because I think it sucks big time... I have the old one when they used the Kontakt powered version. :)
At 9/8/13 03:45 PM, Elitistinen wrote: EastWest/QuantumLeap Symphonic Choir has a phrase/word builder.
If you learn and study how to use the Word builder then the outcomes can be insane... My old school teacher (I say this like all the time) showed me a composition he done for a trailer and I think its just incredible how he done it with SC.
It would be cool to just pull something out the software without having to study it but I don't think that can happen...
It took me about 3 bloody weeks to find out how to load it with Cubase until I noticed I was loading the wrong instrument patch. xD

Thanks, I might check out the Maize Sampler too. :)

Because you said please :) I will look into releasing it in SFZ format.
Hey Guys!
So, I have been working hard on another library for the Pan Flute.
I have always wanted to sample a Pan flute to use myself and that was the plan, although I thought I would share a demo version of some samples because you guys might find it useful and I have a little something as well ! :P
====================================================
MOST IMPORTANT NOTE IN THE WORLD OF HISTORY: THIS Library will only work on Kontakt 5.0.3 and versions above! If you try to open the instrument on a version below, you have wasted your time downloading this and should read this part right here....
I have included in the DEMO version:
====================================================
7 Velocity layers (This was the plan of the full product)
3 Core Articulations;
Sustain (7 velocity layers)
Staccato (1 velocity layer because its a DEMO version)
Vibrato (7 velocity layers)
Each instrument has been recorded at a 'close' mic position. The full product will include 2 mic positions which should be able to mix the both together (Having close on 50 volume and far on 50 etc... Samulis gave me the idea)
In the Full product version, you will have more staccato velocity layers, 1 more mic position (Far) and 2 more core articulations being:
Scales and Phrases.
I might think about adding trills as well.

You can head over to http://brandonspendlove.wix.com/centralcomposersnew and download it on the 'Free Downloads' Page underneath CentralPiano...
If you enjoy this library or the CentralPiano one then give us a like on Facebook at: http://www.facebok.com/centralcomposers
OR follow us on Soundcloud at http://www.soundcloud.com/centralcomposers to keep up to date with the sounds/libraries we are working on!
If you have any questions about the libraries, then contact me through here, soundcloud, facebook or email at brandon-spendlove@hotmail.co.uk
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also may focus on a little something to anyone that is interested in this full product:
A little simple challenge for a free copy of the full product once it has been released and a HALF PRICE DISCOUNT on only one of our products which you can use at any time!
The only rule is: Use this library and make the instrument stand out (Duhhhh of course?!?!)
Create a composition using this library, the instruments should stand out and show the Pan Flute mainly throughout the song. The song will then be showcased on my own Soundcloud and the CentralComposers just as a personal thank you.
I will listen to each composition that uses it! The deadline of creating the composition would be before the full library is released( Which I will set soon!). I thought I would do this in case anyone is actually interested in having a chance to get this library!
If you are interested, give me a email or facebook me with a link to the composition!
I will contact the winner just before the library is released for a early copy of the full library and a half price discount for 1 CentralComposers Library. You can wait as long as you like to spend the Half Price offer, you could even wait like 4 or more months to use this Half Price discount on a future product!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would also like to ask for anyone that comes across any errors or bugs to please Contact me via Email.
Hope you all enjoy it and have fun with what I have included in the DEMO Version!

Be as friendly and calm to piracy as possible. Do offer a free version and a paid version.
Also, what is the best way to sell libraries online?
I mean, how should I upload them? What is the best choice to upload big files like 4GB once someone has ordered a product?

:)
Although you might find some good examples about Random round robin, the best thing to find out is about the cycle and how it works.
The most realistic sound from round robin would be for a custom cycle which allows only a certain amount of the samples to be played at parts.
Sometimes with random round robin you can end up hitting samples like:
1 1 3 2 5 4 or 4 2 5 5 1 3 (This is random round robin)
It would be best to create something when samples can not be repeated after each other (The actual cycle, not random round robin itself)
Random round robin with the cycle would be something like:
3 2 5 1 4 2 or 1 4 2 1 3 5 etc....
It gave me a bit more to think about when working with Round robin so I hope it helps? :)
Each group holding the sample....
I would guess, to create a realistic sound you will use more than 1 sample (Of course! )
1 sample per group
8 groups
script that chooses each group randomly and that might be a basic way to start out
At 9/6/13 04:49 PM, Elitistinen wrote: Have anyone found out how to use it? I'm tired of single round-robin.
Especially @Samulis @Bspendlove I know you guys are pro at this.
Thanks.
Try making a bunch of groups (around 8) and then create a random generator (script) which will play each group randomly when you hit it?
The ARP sequencer uses along the same script as a random round robin (Well the ones I have came across).
2nd Edit.. Decided to take out an orchestral phrase which mixed with the Electronic elements... So I just added more electronic after the hybrid riser :P

I MEAN TONES..... Each sample covers 2 semitones... xD
At 9/5/13 04:28 PM, samulis wrote: 150? Aww... :P
As mentioned no mic positioning, and each sample covers semi-tones (Otherwise there would be a tad more :P)
Did I say 150? How does that work? 88/2 44 x 5 velocity layers = 220 (Not much different ey? xD) Yeah I am leaving this for free, I am not actually planning on making money unlike your one :P
Stuff recording over 1000 samples and releasing it for free, I would rather get paid for the time I spend doing it and I would do what you done, Make it free for a week :P
The new library I have planned will be around 12 velocity layers (with samples per key), 2 different mic positions and 3 piano models
---> THIS will be a good experience and my fingers may feel like they are on steroids due to the amount of clicking I think I will do... :( I will release one piano model for free (1 week only).

Message me when if you do!
And also, did you still want to help out on that project of mine?
