You are all in my nice list. Please stay there <3
I am not planning anything soon... xD
Hi mate, try:
public static string example = "ExampleK";
public static string example2 = "Example";
//Put code in correct places, I'm not at home to write it properly...
if (textBox1.Text.Contains(example))
{
//DO this code
}
else if (textBox1.Text.Contains(example2))
{
//Do this if text box doesn't contain "ExampleK"
}
I'm assuming, for the CPU your using Win32_Processor class to assign the CPU Name to a text box, and check if the user has the specific CPU?
Best thing to do, is look for the 4690K first, not the 4690. The code will find the 4690K but write it out as the 4690. SO if you find other CPU's like 4770K, 4790K, 5960X - Make sure it looks for the K or X first.
Hope that helps mate, if not send over the project and I'll comment and show.

Ahaha, yeah I had tons of items, and most of them are from Topics I haven't looked at nor posted... :(
New notification system is awesome...
I was like... wutttt? I have 69 things to read? I've been seeing this number everywhere I go... You know, I was 10 away on BF3, 59kills... xD
A got a few perc samples in my very old release "Cinematic Rhythms". You'll be able to find that on the internet ;)

8 CPUs
xD
I know the i7 can enable Hyper Threading, but it doesn't mean you have 8 cores lad
I loved the "Freehand" VST synth, it was a good starting point to seeing what could be achieved with SynthMaker.
Got some cools free presets, but never really seen the name anywhere recently

Can Kontakt 4 files open in the latest Kontakt Player?
Kontakt 4 files can only be opened in the player if they are licensed to NI I believe? If you were to create an NKI patch in the full retail K4, you can't open in the player unfortunately :(
I hear another Kontakt based project...
;)

So, what's your reason?
@Troisnyx
That book is called The Inner Game of Music:
"The Inner Game of Music is that which takes place in the mind, played against such elusive opponents as nervousness, self-doubt and fear of failure. In this book, noted musician Barry Green explains the basic principles of 'natural learning' and shows how to apply them to reach a new level in the learning and performing of music"...
It's a really interesting book to read when looking at it from the "self-confidence" point of view... I'm not confident in performing to large numbers but it changed the way I approach a gig if I am extremely nervous,
on the EQ, venue etc.. This book doesn't really cover that xD
At 5/16/14 02:35 PM, Troisnyx wrote: The worst feeling is when you play or sing something to share it with others, and no one applauds or gives a toss...
Yes I agree,
I've had a few times like this in local areas: I just done what I had to do: Got up, bowed next to the piano, walked off... Went home and forgot about everything like it never happened... I've had that with some successful performances though. I like to forget about everything once I leave because next time I play I might think:
"I hope it goes as good as the last time I performed" and then that is when things start to go bad...
About sound:
Get someone you trust, both personally and musically (for honest feedback) and before the actual gig, get them to sit at the front. Play+Sing...
Then do the same with them sitting different places of the venue, such as the back, middle left, far right etc... or try and hear for yourself and get someone to sing/play while you are sitting as an audience member. (It helped me getting a few things down)
You know, I've always hated performing piano in public...
I get extremely nervous, sweaty hands... Stiff hands, I start to breathe heavy, then once I come on I can't smile unless I fake it. I try my best to look at the audience and once I sit at the piano, I hate the feeling...
I started playing more in bands instead of solo as it felt more natural and actually fun to have a laugh on stage instead of being all serious. I then wanted to perform more solo, but I was afraid... SO afraid because of past experiences...
I got asked to play some piano pieces in school and I just thought.. Okay might as well.
I hate getting up, playing the piece etc... But once it's all over, it's just amazing don't you think? I get this feeling of success as: "Yes, you actually went up and played that piece" blah blah blah...
I then started to read a book which focuses around learning to improve performance, the guy who wrote it got inspired from another book with tennis. He looked at the examples and thought, "This can be applied to Music....", it was a fantastic book to read and it didn't instantly improve my performing live (as I still don't like it) but I felt different the next time I performed. I will post the name of the book because I am not home yet and I can't think straight, but it has some extremely cool ideas to try out if your open to try anything to improve! :)

Bravo improves on most of the core sounds on Alpha, the manipulation in Bravo is just so much better than Alpha,
You can literally create 100 patches with 1 sample, Daniel shows you recording his voice and turning it into something cool in the short video
At 5/16/14 07:15 AM, SoundChris wrote: Its indeed interesting, but i already got HT 1 and dont really feel this would be so important to get it. CAGE would be far more important in my opinion if someone already has got HT 1 / 2 and Heaviocity stuff. I mean - the concept is still the same right? Boomers, risers, whooshes, downers, synths?
The only thing which could be far more cool than i expect it to be right now is the effects section. We will see ...
Yes! The code is insane, the sequencer, transformer.... CHAOS.... All awesome to use, I think I'm going to try to see if someone will send me the script over so I can look it at. I'm not really impressed with the library itself, just the controls... xD
A bit like Project Bravo, if I can get my hands on the code for both libraries, then that's all I need to fit my needs. xD
The only "new" bunch of sounds in HT3 is the Epic benders, compared to HT1+2, you can already create epic bender alikes using LFO/pitch bends... I also noticed someone say HT3. Compared to Bravo:
Bravo is essentially designed to manipulate samples into many different sounds, including your own samples whereas HT3 is the top product if your scoring the next transformers movie... It's not really impressive in terms of creating your own sounds COMPARED to Project Bravo... I think I'll pass on these two libraries...
NEw HT3 video showing Tempo synced Pulses and Epic bends...
So, after thinking HybridTools 3 was going to come out soon: It has already came out!

8dio looks like their in the challenge and released this library early because of HybridTwo's Project Bravo... 2014, so far has been an intense year with sound design.

I'd say: Create an agreement on paper (PDF) stating that the musician gives you permission to use their music commercially and earn money via ad's and ask them politely if the would be able to sign it. I'm pretty sure that should be enough in the long run

Yeah man! HT2 was pretty cool, but I missed the Synth Pulsing + Perc Loops they had in HT1

Is that the same guy that did DJ's Project Alpha? I remember getting his name, but I never added him on Facebook :(

Haha, yeah I agree. I only recently found out that EvilDragon coded REV's engines, I was gutted. I was going to hire him last year but I needed like £50 more than I had...
Talking about REV, it really gave me a new look onto coding Kontakt libraries. What's the point of coding each library from scratch when you can work on it's own Engine? So that's what I'm looking into for now xD
8Dio always seems to pull out nice designs in their GUI, so I'll love to see what is on this one..
But to be fair... "80k lines..." I bet you 50k of that code in the engine is just moving/hiding controls xD
