No both are agreed to their percs. However the OP seems to be looking for a new DAW; not a new computer. I was just merely pointing out that buying a computer solely for a DAW is not efficient and Albeton & Cubase are just as effective as Logic Pro. Think about everything you could buy for the 1700 bucks you save? Your list of what comes with logic pro does not compare at all.
My first big recording problem was when I learned the hard way about power surges. Lost half the electronics in my apartment. It cost me about 2500 bucks and took me out of production for almost a year =/
Well it may have been avoidable, but definitely not solvable.

If money & efficiency mean nothing then yes, true.
Don't sign failtracts that people send on the internetz.
Real confrontation via telephone or person are a must, and a music lawyer consultation is also a must.

That doesn't mean it's good for producing. In fact it's udderly useless to have 7.1 unless on a home theater system or unless you are producing music for a film.
For 2 thousand dollars of which you are apparently able to spend for just a DAW use you could get an Audio Interface, a vocal mic, a couple instrument mics, a boom stand, a pop filter, audio monitors, probably better headphones(although i love those hd280's), a mixer, and two turn tables for DJ gigs if you wanted.
But go ahead and get a mac. . .like he said.

He's got the logistics handled, but don't worry i'll tackle the logitistics. i know that extra "ti" can really bare on some people.

However all genres do have typical progressions and many tend to have scales they stay away from so this isn't entirely true.
@Mystery-Moon-Pie-Aud - I think that magical chord you are looking for actually has nothing to do with a chord at all but is likely the timbre and quality =/
It cost 5 to 20 dollars to register a business if you want to provide audio services, or 15 dollars per UPC code for distribution. Forget getting signed it hardly means anything in the electronica world unless your signed by a major label, and at that point all you are really looking for is marketing anyways. If you are looking to do mastering you just have to know a good mastering facility and your set. If you need law advice there are websites that can help you for a service fee(which a label will also charge you for + middleman fees if they dont have their own lawyer), and if you need recording well then...maybe you should try to get signed haha.
Anyways I listened to your demo and that realistically has no chance. Also you need more then just an mp3 for a "demo." Best chances are with a full quality wav(96/24) thats been professionally mastered and a biography/intent paragraph and a professional picture & graphic design of some sort. Also its better to both email and mail in a hard copy unless their website or other instructions say otherwise.
My ears are at your service.
I have loads of experience in production as well and offer my services to any other FL savvy users who wish to collaborate on a piece for the album. My specialty genres are hard house, electro, hard trance, dnb, and dubstep.
I also have experience in other production services that could be of help such as making feasibility checklists, copyright verifications, biography/demo reels, mastering($$$), and CD replication($$$).

I totally know what you're talking about, but I have no idea how to help you. Maybe try looking for old speeches or tv commercials with public domain audio. I used a speech from George Bush Sr. about communism for a trip hop song years back for example.

For me, its actually on my laptop. On ze couch. Yes I'm lazy.
Given my genre, its really hard to imagine a full song ahead of time, and keep all the effects and automations in your head for very long before you forget(usually way before any implementation can even be made), and so most of all my composition(including the start) is done rather as I implement it on my computer based off of whatever current idea I can pull out of my butt. So therefore my musical ideas are all put together in my butt I suppose.
I'm really surprised nobody remixed I'm a little dutch girl. Damn you James Earl Jones!
The two names I am contemplating most right now are "Braingasm" and "Aural Sex Audio". Maybe we could have a vote? let me know which you like better.

really? Plumbing? haha. I like joint-stereo though thats a cool name.

Definitely in the direction I'm looking.
Usually I am able to come up with a nice name but I am finding myself at a lack of creativity...and weed...so I need your help newgrounds!
This would be a name for a hard house/electro artist. I am asking that if you can't easily think of a name that may fit, just give me 5 random things with 5 random adjectives describing them like "Stinky Shoe" or something stupid like that. It might not be a good name, but it may inspire a good name.
So far these are the only name's I have come up with:
Dope Smoke
Sine Warp(er)
Braingasm
So you can see why I would want your help.
Good to see epixa get some exposure. He's a wonderful hardstyle artist. Haywire is just a G and will always get song of the week when he submits but I think the general consensus is that 3 & 5 are this week's actually-may-deserve-to-be-there songs.
meh. I was playing with a plugin today. Fun little guy sylenth is. The ending is clearly the most creative part =/

i fiddle with some technique every day so i can always expand it to a song. if you would like ill post it for this.

So this is a speed contest to see who can make the best song in 24 hours? No genres specifications? No specific samples to use? Nothing? I don't think anyone would want a song that was produced in that short of a time to be marketed. Can you elaborate a little plz?

I mostly use the Es Major, I just got used to it and I think it 's good for a techno-based song. That said, I also hate all scales that are NOT Major, they sound so freaky... so I just stick to the majors. U?
Thats funny you say minor scales sound freaky because in the world of drum n bass and dubstep we would never even contemplate using a major. My favorite is A minor because its all white keys and im noob like that.

First person to say "send them a pm, retard" is gonna get their ass kicked...Like, not some artist on NG (no offense :P ) but an ACTUAL signed artist who's making money off of a track?
I've spent the past week remixing "Pjanoo" by Eric Prydz into an electro track, and it's turning out awesome...(yay for being humble!) But I don't know how to go about contacting him/whoever I need to talk to to get permission to release it, ya dig?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm pretttttty confuzzled.
Licensing is not an easy subject dude. Even if you could get ahold of the label/copyrights holder they are not going to walk you through what exact papers you will need and what you will need to do after. Your best chances are just to go through a company that specializes in helping you get the license you need. LicenseMusicNow.com for example.

I just got this software a couple weeks ago, and I've familiarized myself with the environment enough to be dangerous, but I'm still really lacking in knowledge. I've submitted one song to the portal that I've created with it so far, but if any of you takes the time to listen to it, you'll come to the same realization that I have - that I suck. I know very little about music, aside from reading it, that is, and I know nothing about composition. I guess I have two questions here, one of which relates to FL, and one of which doesn't.
Relating to FL:
Where can I find ways/things to make my stuff sound better? What do I really need? Right now all I have are the samples and kits that came with the software. Do I need more samples, and if so, where do I find those? Any tips you have will be appreciated immensely.
Not relating to FL:
I don't know much about music in general, but I think that I could be better if I learn more about arrangement and composition, if nothing else. Do any of you have any guides, tutorials, or just general knowledge you can share with me? I know that without a proper foundation, no software - no matter how great - will help me, so I want to improve myself before I work on the software itself.
Help me, Newgrounds! I've loved music all my life, but when it comes to making it, I inhale tremendously!
As to the ones relating to FL you would do yourself best to learn how to use the different VST's that FL studio comes with such as 3xOsc, Sytrus, and Ts404. Youtube is overflowing with tutorials. The best way to expand your sound after that besides finding samples for drums or effects would be to invest in one or two of the popular VST's used in all modern industry standard music such as Komplete 6 by Native Instruments or the reFX plugins like Vanguard and Nexus.
As for learning more about composition you might find this book interesting. It's called Music Theory for Computer Musicians by Hewitt - http://www.amazon.com/Music-Theory-Compu ter-Musicians-Book/dp/1598635034 (remove spaces in URL if auto added). The title says it all. If you are into electronic genres such as trance, drum n bass, or house, then check out the Dance Music Manual by Rick Snoman - http://www.amazon.com/Dance-Music-Manual -Second-techniques/dp/0240521072/ref=pd_

Your link requires a membership with filefreak so for most of us its NOT working fine. About your problem, there are any number of things it could be. Make sure you're not accidentally stretching it as well as that it's base key is C5 as mentioned already. Also try going into your audio settings and raising & lowering the buffer length(the slower your computer, the higher you will probably want it to a certain extent), and make sure that your interpolation is linear while your in there. If your using a computer with dual core or quad core processing then make sure all the CPU options are marked in the CPU part of the audio settings tab as well. If you are using an audio interface or a sound card and not your motherboards built in sound then maybe try switching the input/output options just incase its a hardware problem. I wish I could help you more but I am not about to make a membership there just for one thing and I can't hear what exactly your problem is and you didnt describe it at all. so good luck.
I have been rapping for a couple years. My voice is a little deeper then Eminem but I am pretty sure I have that same energy. Here's one of my new raps. Vindicular Vendiagrams
This is a collaboration demo for a dubstep tune that me and artist Too Long Gone are working on. I would love some reviews and I will return any review with 2 reviews. Cheers!
