alright mr.nubz I'll give it a shot. But I WONT accept your cash if I win. You are not allowed to be homeless again.
Popularity rank I believe it based on how many downloads it has. So #1 popularity has the most downloads on newgrounds(but don't ask what it is because nobody knows)
Score I am not as sure about. I believe it has to do with how many listens and it resets on a daily basis...I think.
It HASNT started yet. If you started a song then Shame on you. Start a new one when coreman announces it.
Well I dont like how you take hardstyle the way you do. I think all those 150-160BPM hard genres are really designed for particularly bouncy styles of dancing, which is both more rhythmic, but also a lot easier to learn, and in turn quite fun to those who don't dance often.
That said I think electronic genres are going to further be branched out into new categories until some sort of unifying overhead genres are put in place by an establishment of some sort. I agree that drum n bass will gain more popularity as people attain more and more respect for the more intense listening genres as such(high density/lots going on). I think IDM music in general will turn into a avant garde like, art form(if it isnt already). Finally I think further and further we will incorporate different older genres of music (classical, romantic, jazz, etc) into our songs.
Yea these goofy random new genres mess me up too. Be it Goa or Rock n Roll or Jazz. Why don't we all just compose good old video game music ya know?

It's not $30 anymore now its $38. Well $37.99 but, you know, basically $38.

One could argue that the most annoying song is also likely the shittiest song. Hence my entry to this one haha.

are you serious? i would think if anything i would get banned for making the shittiest duplo song known to man

Ok well this is going to be my last post in the thread, so just to clarify some things. I AM NOT in charge of this album what so ever, and if you are involved in the album at all you SHOULD know this already by doing something called "reading" like you are right now.
Any asshole comments that have come out of my mouth are because I am trying to help this album get moving along so that it can have a purpose sooner; because those organizations that are helping are not going to stay there forever, so the money given will gradually spread out to other causes as time goes.
I will still be helping review songs, and I still offer my advice if anyone wants to come to me for it. However, It has been made clear to me that my experience in the industry is not wanted for anything but reviewing. Soo good luck gentlemen.
Everyone has this problem for the most part
At 2/7/10 03:19 PM, Kr1z wrote: Maybe it's better to drop the ones that get too tardy?
Trust me if there was enough people that have submitted acceptable audio, we already would have dropped the rest. However, we only have 9 or 10 songs that I would even consider to consider considering.

There's not something about your name, loans just hasn't uploaded it to google wave yet which is all I have to go by.

I mass PM'd people about the dealine twice myself.

That's about half of you guys, and I am really starting to get pissed off. To those who signed up and have NOT submitted something, send me a PM why, because YOU FUCKS ARE DELAYING OUR ATTEMPT TO HELP THE PEOPLE IN HAITI AND YOU FUCKING COMMITTED YOURSELF WHEN YOU SIGNED UP SO YOU BETTER HAVE A DAMN GOOD REASON.
If I dont hear from you, or if this album goes under, prepare to be zero bombed everyday for the rest of your life if you didnt submit/dont have a reason.
To the rest of you who even relatively made the deadline, thank you.

Rolling bassline side chains are pretty common. Instead of just a single note side chain, use 16th notes.
LUCKY*** i meant to say
Damn my excessive typos and doubleposts!

Luck you going to Berklee. I speak from my experience in the studios here in Chicago, and over in L.A. Recording Studios tend to stick with protools and logic like you said though.
And I would definitely place DP7 with Reason and FL studio. Great program, but not up to snuff with the professional industry standards
At 2/7/10 12:31 AM, KgZ wrote: the big three professionals use in the industry right now is Logic, DP, and Protools.
Protools is kind of like the industry standard, however they are some serious jive turkeys. Protools HD comes with hardware to take away from computer processing, it cost 16k, and all the cords you use with it have to be bought from pro tools. It's kinda BS. People are leaning a lot towards other DAWs like Logic Pro (I think it was nominated in the IDMA's for one of the best DAW's), but dont forget that Cubase and Ableton Live are just as much used from "the big professionals in the industry"; it's not just Apple based programs.

YES
ALSO: Loans, Mich, and the other guy are currently located in a different dimension, and so reviews are going to take a while(as I still need to fix the light beam converter in order for the dimensional warp to work properly). Thank you for your patience.

If you dont have full licensing to the song, you CANNOT post it on the audio portal. Period. If it's m4a I presume you downloaded from itunes or something. It has to be your song, sorry bro.
Otherwise try using a search engine before making us take our time to help you. There are hundreds of audio converters online. Just search google.

Do you honestly expect people to help you when you respond like that?
Fact of the matter is, its like asking how do doctors know what kind of sickness people have? It's ridiculously broad. You should do some research of your own, and if you were honestly with a label you would know what to research(that means ur label was probably crap or you werent involved in the slightest). Don't make us look up and type up stuff for you. The internet is full of online videos, documents, etc.
Why not try...IDK...Looking for tutorials on your program?!?
Well DAW bashing seems to show up in a thread about once every 2 weeks, however I haven't really ever participated. Most of the bad things people have been saying about FL studio have been pure ignorance, HOWEVER, there are faults I might note. First thing, MIDI out's are not assignable to mixer tracks which can be a pain in the ass when your trying to use a plugin with multiple outs. Also, I believe each instrument/sample should be automatically assigned to a mixer track, but fl studio doesn't do this, so keeping the file nice and neat takes a good amount of assigning, coloring, labeling, etc.
As for serious production, you should be going for either Sonar, Ableton, or Cubase. All international award winning DAW's.
For beginners, Reason or FL studio.
