Happy birthday Brahms & Tchaikovsky!
thanks guys. i must be cool now.
If any of you guys had ever been in an anechoic chamber you would have a little different opinion on real silence. It's literally sickening.
I got dizzy and nauseous from it.
That said, silence in the more practical term is just as important as noise, and therefore equally respectable. Meditation in good silence can be quite enlightening.

Actually it may very well be an audio mods mistake too. Because if they follow your youtube link and check out the same song there, you actually do cite your sources. We're supposed to investigate stuff like that when making these decisions. Who knows.

Damn you guys. I finally put out the effort to type up a nice long detailed response which i promptly just deleted, and I get so hardcore ninjad its not even funny.
ANYWAYS...
@OP:
I see no other potential problems with the track. Doesn't sound like a duplo or spam or anything. Unfortunately you will need to make a new account to submit music. Luckily you don't have much account activity built up so that should be no problem. When you make the new account and upload the song again, just make sure to include that it was made in FL studio with the stock orchestral library sounds and you will be fine. The list is short now so approval wont take long.
If for any reason more problems arise, please refer to this thread instead of making a new one.

Best Way To Win an Argument on NG

Sure victory will ensue.
Not sure why people are arguing about programming a synth versus playing an instrument. Performing with a synth seems to have gone over everyones head. That takes both the skills of a piano player as well as the additional parameters that piano doesnt offer. In fact, with a decent amount of pots and faders the skill cap becomes so high it's easily impossible to do many things live.
If so facto, performing with a synthesizer has more variables then any acoustic instrument and is therefore infinitely more difficult to master. Although it definitely isn't common to see people attempting to learn live performance with synths as musically dedicated as one might with a traditional instrument yet.
It just looks like a fancy granular synth to me. Still the UI looks nice. I think they overplay the whole "look how easy sweeps and what not are, no more of those pesky automations" thing. It's gonna have to get some more interesting percs before it can take me away from Alchemy

right click the file, go to properties, change something like title or artist name. Likely if you don't know what metadata is then that will be blank and you can just add in your proper info.
Like I said i'm not sure what the system is scanning for to say its a copy so you may need a waveform change. that could be as simple as adding half a second of silence to the end so as not to need to change anything written

Sounds like you only tried my first of 3 levels of solving this problem. Changing metadata or making a small edit and re-exporting the audio are still options.
It is checking either filename, metadata, or the wavefile as a means to say it's a copy. I don't know which one, so try changing them all.
Get rid of the other project files. You only need one. If that doesnt work, change some of the metadata. If that doesnt work, make a small edit, reexport it, then it will work.
Just put a donk on it
Electronic musicians are so spoiled. It's quite easy to find very useful great sounding free material like VST's and effects and such, but simulating live instruments usually requires a sample based software, and a quality sample require quality gear and staff to create that. It's just not out there for free. Little bits here and there can be nice, but this is really a capital venture.
On top of that, producing orchestral music requires intelligible orchestration. I think you'll find thisto be helpful of that.
ive been wanting to link back to that thread for soooo long. finally its relevant! success!
They'll need some editing to loop but nothing fancy.

This.
Repeating Chord Progressions:
Don't do it unless you're Pachelbel; even then don't do it. 99.99% of the time having repeating progressions throughout an entire piece is a recipe for shallow music.
I had the same problem a few years back that the OP is having. I couldn't seem to expand my songs to the lengths that were normal and made all these awkward sections to do so. The main source of this problem is honestly your idea in the first place. This tends to happen to people most of all who build their tracks from start to finish and who don't have a great foundation in theory. Of course its not an exact thing, but I see those two conditions the most.
I find that taking the time to hear the piece in your head from start to finish or at least attempting to complete the song in your head is a good way to lessen the awkwardness of those expanding sections. Do that a lot. Obviously the song will change in your head each time unless your memory is great, but it's a good exercise and it will help. Possibly more importantly though may be the way you write the song. In western theory, we are taught to begin by writing at the beginning, then moving to the end, and then filling in the middle. It was a strange idea to me at first but it can definitely help. It's easier to fill in the middle sections to make things work rather then just writing new sections until you find a way back home for a finish.
Understanding functional harmony is another way to get yourself out of a lot of trouble. I try many times to feel out a progression but without success i turn to my knowledge of theory and am able to patch things up and extend the piece as I please.

Um....no not really. The IV chord refers to a chord built on the 4th scale degree. So if you were in c dorian then yes the major F chord would be right but you would be going to a minor c and a diminished a chord not majors. Also IV-vi dim-i would probably not sound very good although since the vi dim does share 2 tones with the i chord it could probably be tailored to work. still id avoid it. I would suggest just back and forth i-IV or incorporate some ii's or v's as well. The melody itself has no restrictions to scale or mode, just play with what sounds foresty to you.
Dorian Mode. Use that major IV....sounds mystical and foresty.
It works.
Nobuo Uematsu uses this all the time.

On the Topic of Insanity
Not that this is anyone in particular's case, but I find that people think of themselves as crazy quite a bit. I've noticed that being crazy is almost considered cool these days. Most of the people that tell me they're psychotic or skizo or something just make me laugh. Having been in protective services for 3 months because of a skizo that was trying to kill me and my family after living with us for a year has kind of opened my eyes to the reality of a truly insane person. So why when people borderline any kind of mental disorder do they tend to lean towards being such a person? Is it honestly cool to people? Is this just a way to stick out of the crowd to subconsciously gain popularity and be noticed?

They are both indie films, and I'm on a NDA so can't tell you the names =P
So looks like I'll be scoring at least two feature films this year. I'm excited to see my name in theaters. Already working on the first film. It's pretty crazy to write up 40-50 minutes of music that has to fit exactly to the various emotions on screen while maintaining a main theme, but I fuckin love it.
Here's to hoping my music doesn't sound like shit in a theater system.
My vote would have to go to ProudAardvark. He has been active in the NG competitions and submitted tons of respectable work last year. He is one of the people that gives me hope for the Classical genre here which IMO has the largest majority of intelligible composers/songwriters versus the other genres. (No bias)
I'd like to give my vote for BrokenDeck because he is so present and helpful and is a genius musician but he just didn't really contribute much music in 2011, so ProudAardvark it is.
I am classically biased, but technical skills & good repertoire are usually the best way to approach any instrument.
Learning to sing is in many ways learning to hear as well. Ultimately you want to be able to just write on sheet music anything you hear in your head, or vise versa to sing repertoire.
If you can sing all the modes as well as all triads and seventh chords (without any aural help other than a starting note) that would be a good technical base. Sight singing is important to practice too and there are plenty of ways to do that. I use a sight singing book for my practice which is full of thousands of short tunes and rhythms meant to be sung once each.
Read into proper diction and pay close attention to words meanings and their notation making sure you are singing them with true musicianship.
A good daily routine would be to warm up practicing good breathing, technical skills, and relaxation techniques (be it massaging your cheeks or meditating or whatever helps you relax)....then working on 4-6 songs that are challenging in some sort or another be it speed, intervals, or range. The songs you approach and study as such should be challenging enough that memorization and accuracy may take you months.
Don't be afraid to sing infront of people. In fact I encourage you to learn a song and sing for a crowd as it is good practice to build stage presence and get over the whole "people are watching" aspect.

This just made me so depressed. Thankfully I am working in a portfolio based industry not a degree based one. So at least I can have some hope for myself haha. I am dropping out of university because of this though. I have a cumulative test average from all my classes of ~98%....and I am failing them all.
