TLDR version at bottom.
I first discoverd NG when I was 14. The Mario and Sonic fad was what got me hooked. From there on I spent the majority of my time watching flashes. Then when i was 15 i discovered the BBS, for a short period of time i would just browse the threads, getting the feel of the place you could say lol. Then i signed up. OH WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY! With my lolipop held high i wandered the BBS racking up xp and feeling good about myself.
At first of course i was like every other noob, didn't make much sence and didn't understand any memes or anything. This is where the point of the story starts, because i wasn't familiar with any of the memes, or just what people were talking about on the BBS, i started to do research. I've learned more on my computer looking up stuff then i have in highschool lol. How could this of possibly helped me in the real world you say? Well, as a result of my constant searching and reading, it became extremely easy for me to remember basically anything.
What i mean by this is that, i've trained my brain to easily hold an access information at anytime. Like a fucking machine if you will lol. Throughout my 4 years in highschool, i've never studied a day, i've actaully never studied a day in my life though lol, I wouldn't even take notes during class! I would just pay attention, and i would just remember everything. Math especially, my math grades on my report card were straight A's. I was able to remember every formula off the top of my head. No one ever really expected me to be so smart cause i don't fit the profile.

Shortly after signing up i found a club in the C&C that was basically responsible for my whole thought process lol. When i was accepted into the NG Mafia it was probably the best day of my life. I mean i was genuinely happy, i have a very low self asteem and no self confidence, judge me if you want but when i was brought in i actually felt like i was joining a family. The rules of the Mafia were that your posts had to be more than one line. This forced me to always think about the quality of my posts as well as, my grammar, vocabulary, and the way i put words together. The Mafia also taught me leadership qualities, i.e. how to deal with problems in a calm manner, showing respect, as well as giving me a strong will to help others. My biggest thing in the Mafia were my stories, I worte a ton of them lol, but they weren't bullshit stories. I put in character development, plot twists, the works. I eventually felt like a script writer for movies lol. Again i brought my writing skills to school. My essays were like reading something out of God's notebook. lol kidding but i was constantly praised by my english teachers for my work.
Eventually i took the SAT, got a good score, and now i'm in a great college, with a great GPA, and a bright future. I have learned so much more though but i can't really explain it with words. I just look at everything from a different perspective, i feel as if i could accomplish anything lol. For that i thank everyone on Newgrounds who showed me that they're are stupid people in the world and that i'm above the majority. So thanks Newgrounds!
