They will look dumb.

I hope you guys don't go lazy and just stretch them. It would probably be fine if a border is added to fit the new size.

Blarg, I didn't see the thing about posting any comments in this topic until after posting =[

The contest thread doesn't mention the 60 second limit.

Thanks.

I have tried to play the new Portal: The Flash Version game a couple times. But after I couple levels I always end up accidently moving my mouse down and clicking the ad link. This link does not open in a new window. When I press back, the game reloads and I have to start all over.

Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Response to: It ends now. Posted July 20th, 2006 in General

I am confused whether this is some practical joke or that the forums are actually trying to be cleaned up. Wade has always been the practical joker, and then he comes out and says it has to stop. Then he makes replies like he always does, going against the serious nature of the topic.

I am just going to assume this is a joke to be on the safe side.

The usernames are stored in cookies.

Ok. Now I understand. Thanks.

The header file, on the other hand, is loaded millions of times per day.

It still doesn't make sense that you show someone's username in the header, yet you can't tell them they have an private message. In other forum software, all this information is retrieved via the same query, meaning no extra load. That is unless the query is structured so it only retrieves the username.

I just played through the new changes and the game was way too easy for me. Before it took me several tries to beat it. Now I went through the entire game first try without even getting below 75% health, and I wasn't even being "safe" like using cheap moves the entire time.

It's in the footer.

Speaking of that, the store still advertises the old montly console contest.

Response to: Ideas for Newgrounds' Evolution Mk2 Posted February 13th, 2006 in Where is / How to?

Sorry if this has already been suggested, but I am not going to read 27 pages of posts.

I was just looking through the top couple hundred of the best flashes seeing if I have ever missed anything good. That suddenly gave me the idea for a new statistic: the highest ranking a flash has achieved. The ranking gets bumped around so much, it would be cool if you could see what the highest ranking ever achieved was.

For example it could be like this:
Ranked # 103 for Score
Highest Rank Achieved: 55
Ranked # 3,711 for Popularity

Anyway, just a thought.

I find it funny how people are going on and on how it is unfair the same series keep winning each month and there should be room for new artists. But then those same people are putting down gayest showdown. What happened to all that artistic creativity you were speaking of?

Response to: Tips of the McDonalds Game? Posted February 2nd, 2006 in Where is / How to?

I don't think the game has an end.

I was doing so well, I got up to $60,000! But then my feed dried up, ran out of hamburgers, and it went through all the money in about 1 minute. I started producing hamburgers but it was too late.

Tips of the McDonalds Game? Posted February 2nd, 2006 in Where is / How to?

I have played it a couple times, the farthest I have gotten is the year 2029 I think.

Anyone have some tips or a guide how to do well in it?

I wonder if Gayest Showdown will make the top 5. It will certainly be in the top 20. It would be cool if it did.

Response to: the ultimate showdown Posted January 15th, 2006 in Game Development

If you think something is worth a 3, then vote a 3. Don't complain that your opinion is in the minority. The Ultimate Showdown is getting a lot of views because it is a mini-hit. Numa Numa was the same way except with was a mega-hit.

Do a search for Ultimate Showdown on Google, it is already number one.

Inglor, what does it take to qualify as a Newgrounds Forum Regular?

To anyone, if you need an actionscripter for your game feel free to contact me at jcthebuilder1 at yahoo.com. I only started actionscripting a couple months ago and haven't finished my first game yet (it is quite complex, you can view it in an unfinished version upon request). But I have been programming with PHP and Java for a while and am increasing my Actionscript knowledge everyday. Please have a concept when emailing, I don't wish to recieve "I want to make a game".

i seem to remember Somethingawful.com and Funnyjunk.com as being popular sites. and they host the same shit that's on a hundred other websites....including ebaums.

SomethingAwful attempts to create original content while eBaum creates absolutly no original content. If somethingawful accidently posts something stolen from someone else, they will probably remove it. In contrast, eBaum will almost never remove copyrighted or stolen material. He even posts letters in the legal section of people demanding content be taken down. Somethingawful also posts legal letters, but they are all for slander.

I think they will eventually, but it might be a long wait. The series is just too good and has too much potential material for it to end.

Response to: Particle effects? Posted October 28th, 2005 in Game Development

That is advance actionscripting. You cannot do partical effects in the sense of a 3D game. You have to make due with lots of actionscript.

Response to: Drawing wood in flash? Posted October 26th, 2005 in Game Development

If you want it to look like wood you have to add a grain. That is the major difference between metal and wood. Metal looks shiny, clean, and flat. Wood looks grainy, textured, and dull.
