Thanks a lot, in fact i'm having fun animating in black and white with the rough style...might make it a bit of my trademark in some of my future animations :P

As for singing it, yes i did sing it and write it myself, with the contribution and persuasion of ForbidMetal :p

Updateon my animation.

Response to: the warhammer 40k collab! Posted May 11th, 2009 in Game Development

Well, one of the things i learnt through these past 6 months is how to animate and draw faster, especially with my Wacom :P I decided to use yet another new style for my part, to keep some variety :) This time i'm goin to use a black and white scheme as we dont have any of that in the collab. As for the credits, i'm going to try make something like those seen in 300 (well...inspired from that).

What i'd like flashbound to do is make a list of stuff that needs to go onto the credis like all the aliases, credits to sound sites, music, games workshop ect. Something like Directed By: blabla...

Here's a pic of my chaos space marine:

Better than before. You'll have to wait for Flashbound and Forbid though as i'm not a leader.

As for my 6th and i assume final part, i was inspired by Forbid's idea of re-singing a song rather putting in a gay song, so, i wrote a little bit to a song we all love (to hate) though i think 90% of the world has heard this song so, it'll be hitting a wideish audience. Ironically, it's a girls song - and wh's mainly boys only - so, might also be funnyish.

I sang the rif this morning, only one try till now, though i'll resing it to hit the high notes cos it sounds a bit bad sometimes. I'm also uploading a flahs file on which i'll be working the 6th part on which contains the words for the song.

Well, i'm very ashamed to say it but I kissed a Spawn...

Well if you think we can put in racist jokes then i dont mind re-doing his head. I just toned it down a notch as not to make the collab racist ect.

Forbid and I also came up with something funny-er for the last bit. It's shorter than my empror one as that'd have taken too much time. Let's say i've written a bit of a song for chaos ;) But i wont be posting it here for now as it's still a work in progress and i dont want it to get stolen :'(

How many parts are left flashbound? pls :)

1st time in history...i completed a flash animation in a day :P
It turned out a bit different than i had initially immagined; rahter than focusing on asians, it's a van of Outcast Guard (Nerds, Asians...) with a badass commander and his cigar :P

Outcasts

Response to: the warhammer 40k collab! Posted May 9th, 2009 in Game Development

Well, i was discussicussing my free time with Forbid and - even though he wants me to make an epic part - i'm afraid i wont be able to finish the empror one till june as iv'e got too much stuff to study. Though, i had an idea for a short 5sec animation and i made this in abour 40mins. It's about 5 seconds long, and has a bit of a racist joke in it. I still have to draw the heads, the circles are there to show the status of the characters (normal soldier, captain, ect) their facial expression, ect. They'll all be looking at the yellow headed guy...

Ethnicity

PS. The main reason i did this was that i liked the idea, it was v.short and i wanted to help out in reaching thr 24anims ;p So this is my 5th part :)

With all due respect to saltoric, all the image needs is some sharpening up. If you'd realy like to enter the collab, the most i can suggest is try re-draw the avatar using the pen tool. I find images come out much neater when using that.
As for your image mr.Monkey; Initially, the two collab leaders asked for an image to show what they can do or not. Some ppl sent images and werent accepted. All forbid said was that 'Unfortunately not by the picture alone', so he's being given a second chance, rather than being told 'bye' immediately.

I presonally see potential saltoric. His image might not be the greatest in the collab but i feel he'll be able to reach a decent standard with a little more work/effort :)

Point 2: i have yet to see any flash animations / movies with medals... O.o if you know of any please point them out to me :3

Im going a go at getting my part done in the near future... even if its just a 10/15 second bit... :3... ciao

Great...that means i wasted 2585 Points of my life :D Hopefully they'll pay out when they introduce some new stuff to the medal system. Who knows, we might get some merch with the points :P

First of all it's great to see some replies cos the forum's slowing down as time goes buy. Obviously, they were just suggestions to make the thing more 'likeable' mabye. On the other hand, i dont know how to code for/make the medas so if the idea is accepted by mr Flashboud18, we'll work it out from there.

Medals, as far as i know, are just medals and i dont thin we'll get anything out of the points we earn....right? :P

So...exams seem to be going ok, at the moment i'm studying Wilfred Owen's war poems, and for the 1st time in 2 years i'm finding them interesting :P So, once i dont have much time to complete my 5th animation for now, Forbid and I were discussing this idea of including medals to the Collab. I've seen this in a movie (So, they're not only for games - it was on the pico day submission 'Fatherly Bonds')

The main reason for the medals would be, mainly, more people seeing the work we've been doing for the past 6 or so months, hopefully get more views, more votes, greater chance of a front page (even though the quality we've got here's quite high for a collab).

Well...Forbid and I like the idea. So it's up to Don to see if we should do this or not. Here are some ideas we came up with:

1. The Age of Battle is begun - press 'Start' - 1pt
2. Remember the Fallen - View the 'in memory of' page - 5pts
3. Chaos' all seeing eye - Watch the collaboration from beginning to end - 10pts
4. - Download the Official Collab Wallpaper - 10pts
5. Ork Toof' - Find the Easter Egg animation (this is an old animation by Forbid) - 25pts
6. I FEEL THE COLLAB OVERTAKING ME! IT IS A GOOD PAIN - Watch the collab 3 times consecutively - 100pts
7. Librarian - Visit the 'Author Bio' page - 10pts
8. FLASH-BOUND are we by his guiding light - in the chapter select menu, click a scene made by Flashbound18 - 5pts
9. FORBID the Heretic to live - in the chapter select menu, click a scene made by ForbidMetal - 5pts
10. Foolish Monkeigh - in the chapter select menu, click a scene made by TrojenMonkey - 5 pts
11. BOMB-LUck - succesfully click on a scene and hope it's BOMBLUs - 5pts
12. If in doutz NUT'em WAAGHH - in the chapter select menu, click a scene made by Nuttro - 5pts

So...there's a little run-down of what ForbidMetal and I came up with. Contribution, modification, ect is as alwas, greatly accepted :D

LETS RAPE THE FRONT PAGE FOR A MONTH!

I dont think anyone's obliged to enter the collab. The names are also just there for the fun of it. I dont think any one of them will be considered to be used. Mainly cos they're silly and our next collab - if i'm not mistaken - will be serious.

that's a great idea actually. We could make a forum with a basic little home site. I'm capable of making flash sites, not so much html though. Forums however, are easy/

I'll gladly help out once we get done with this collab :) I took a webdesign course last year for Dreamweaver so i've got some html basics + flash aint a problem.

We also came up with an idea for the name:
GDFC
which may mean:
Grim Darkness of the Future Crew
Games Day Football Club
Golden Demon Football Club
Golden Demon Flash Crew
Genestealers Demon Fucker Crew

It doesn't take much; there are fairly small colletions here. there just needs to be a handful of popular movies as a backbone. there's already that SRM flash, those epic tributes, and than this collab and the collab to come.

Well i know this is thinking quite far in the future, but we can always organize aw wh/wh40k collab once a year. It'll be smaller than this cos we've been working on it for quite a while, but with the annual collab - and the random warhammer flash submitted througout time - the collection will grow quite a bit ;p

Oh and, did you ask Tom for the filesize limit? If he can increase it a bit? :P And how many parts are we missing?

Response to: the warhammer 40k collab! Posted April 23rd, 2009 in Game Development

Yep i think he's talking about flash ads that are placed directly onto the animation. I was thinking about asking this question, even though it's something very minimal, and i dont know how the ads work. Will we be paid per person? Split out by the ammount of work/effort (ie. no. of flashes) each one made... is it even worth it if it'd be devided? :P

You're quite good at ideas. You can also say that of a young age (maybe i'm breaking the fluff rules), when they used to be kids, the now-librarians used to spend time reading books such as 'insert appropriate name of scientific-nerd books' rather than beating the shit out of other students, like the now-terminators used to do...

Well it's good to see some new faces around once in a while. Even though i have absolutely no power over deciding who's in and out (i just make all the others cry with my flawless artwork - right guys? :P) I for one like the idea of a picky marine, consiering a fly as a Xeno (might be silly, but i think it's funny) I havent tried CS4 yet but from what i gather/tried out for a bit, the bone-tool-thing's quite east to use. If i were you (seeing that you'd like to enter the collab) would be to make a short animation of the marine rather than the fly. Your artwork's decent compared to a good portion of the crap that reaches the shores of newgrounds, though some polishing up never hurts. You've got to wait for ForbidMetal or Flashbound18 to tell you if you're in or out though *shrug*

Art is wonderful; you even made the beginning bitmap trace look good. however, you ought to have the alarm keep going and than fade out shortly after the music begins

Thanks :) I'm spending quite some time drawing the stuff. To be quite honest i'm not too pleased with the bitmap tracing as i'd rather draw the citadel ext myself but that'd take a VERY long time :P As for the sound, yes i think it'd be better if i extend it a bit more though before i do that i'm going to ask Forbid or Flashbound to voiceact some marine text for me and then i'll integrate with the music. Something like:
My Holyness (or whatever they call the emperor), the forces of chaos (or maybe Horus?) have brached the gates to the citadel (or palace?)!! All is lost!

I'd also like to get the final deadline for the collab if you dont mind (again, not trying to delay it again but this animation's going to take quite some time cos i might have to do A LOT of lip-sinching....and drawing :P)

And the credit song (i was thinking - Forbid suggested the song and it's quite good i think) will be the 'harder' part of the song at 2:55. I'm still trying to come up with some sexi ideas (as opposed to simple text scroll) so, if anyone's got any ideas just post and i'll work on them :P

I decided that i'd better try make another animation to try and reach the 24 anims. I'm going to admit, it's going to take quite some time to complete as the style i think would be the most appropriate is the one i'm using now (Seen in the pic below) as - thanks to forbid - i'll be using a relatively dramatic and emotional song, as we see the empror despair during a seige on the citadel (or something...) I also discussed with forbid that i can continu off the credits with this song, so flashbound - if you like the idea just tell me what i've got to write on the credits and i'll prob be making them more than just scrolling text *wink* :P

Flashbound, may you also please give me the exact deadline if you dont mind? I am by no means trying to re-extend the deadline for my own cause, just to see if we're still aiming for the 24 parts and see if we've actually got enough (as we didnt see any new faces in the collab for quite a while now)
