AWSOME PIC THERE MAN! Hell... that's some damn good art...
Btw... from next next week i'll be following my new time table which means finish at 2:30 on monday, 12:00 on tue and thurs and 10:00 am on friday - oh, i dont have school on wednesday :D So, unless i'm blinded by this awsome time table and get flooded with assignemnts, i should have more 'week time' to spend on this collab.
And tomorrow's the last day for this assignment stuff and i'm still not done!!!! D:
Well, my 2 assignments close this friday - no school today so i'm finishing off my final 'relief'. I still need to finish off my three 3d sculptures, 1k word assignment evaluation, finish off history and design research... yep...quite a lot of stuff.
Good thing is i'll be 'off' next week so i'll work on this collab :D And my xbox... and mah models... and go watch Avatar... and have a kitkat
So much to do
So little time

Dw man, post it here once it's done. However, could you email me the process till now (dw about bugs and incomplete scenes) - i'd like to have a look at it and point out if there's anyhting that needs arranging :) [thebomblu@hotmail.com]
Sorry for my recent lack of activity here - it's been a rough week and the next one's going to be the same. Apologies for that.
But, bright side, it looks like the collab's moving on - keep on working on your stuff to reach your highest standard :) And no due dates till now :)
Had a couple of mins to spare, here you go :p

I saw it earlier in the week in 3d. it was spectacular
Yep, i still need to go watch that thing - what if we made this collab in 3d? :P
Jokes apart, that mr.T looks pretty funny (slightly thin but hey, he's a necromancer right?)
Looks like this collabs starting to move again :D
The lack of activity in this thread is pretty worrying, full of fine ideas, voiceactors and animators and suddenly - poof...
Quite a pity.
Chances are i wont be online till the 26th, so Merry Christmas to all you guys :)
I hope not...
Here in malta it's just warm, as usual... sometimes it gets v.rainy but thats all... the closest we get to snow is hail and that's nothing like snow...
:'(

THE MORE THE MERRYER! Serously, excuse me for forgetting you mr.Magicswordz :'(
That means we've got around 8 of you guys, not bad - not bad at all :D
As for Magic's idea - yeah i think we should 1st stick to our ideas (say, if magicswordz wants to do his idea it's only fair and logical that he animates his own bit) but if anyone's got an idea, just share it here. It may come of use in a time of need ;p
Now... where are those drawings and animations boys? (ps. i'm dead curious so if you're still drawing stuff, pm them to me or email thebomblu@hotmail.com)
So let's see...
there's me, flashbound, forbid, redharvest and nuttro seem interested and they had v good parts in the last collab, mickey posted his wishes and hengen's fixing his audition. Say everyone's in that's 7 so i'm assuming it's 6 for now, we're 1 down from the final number of animators for the 40k one - not too bad... BUT KEEP COMING!
Good to see you're trying it out again - i'm pm'ing you the idea i had for your storyline - just some more development to make it as funny as possible - and get that art to the highest level possible ;p
At 12/13/09 02:37 PM, hengen wrote: well.... Here is my audition guys ;)
Thanks for auditionhing Hengen - as always, we still need more and more auditions to tell each and every one of you if you're in or not.
You've just got one thing wrong, and that's the dimensions - our canvas size is MUCH bigger than the one you've used so if you REALY want to join i'll suggest you follow these tips:
1) Read the full 1st post (yeah it's a bit long, but we wanted to get things out as clear as possible)
2) Increase the canvas size
3) bring your stuff to the highest level possible - it's an audition so take this seriously
You can re-fix it if you'd like man :)
Little update from my part - i'm sketching some stuff for the slaanesh one :D
All your end is nigh talk Forbid... tut tut ;p
Yes, hopefully it'll be my baby and there wont be any miscarriages... let alone an abortion by Forbidmetal... british bastard....
Sorry for the double post - Re. Deamonette:
Let me come up with some visuals... i might do this sketch :D
PS. I've got this school project (western based animation) so it might take me some time till i start contributing 100% here - but i'll sketch the deamonette and stuff, i likes ;p
Keep working on the stuff guys, i liked the slaanesh one ;p
As for the supposedly 'lack of people'.... well i think we were all expecting some of the funny40k one to come back (apart from us 3) - all i can spot is mickey and redharvest....
Then again coming to think of it there werent many animators in the 40k one after all :P
I'll try scout some ppl dw - i find your lack of faith disturbing Forbid... serious 40k... i'm tired of the 41st millenium :D
So - to keep this thread going...
Why do ppl play more 40k than Fantasy - the rules are relatively simpler, you normally need less models (lets face it, 50% of the players use marines or chaos marines) and the game is much faster than a Fantasy one would take. Fantasy needs more brains than brawn (generally speeking) and it's more time consuming - i for one take quite a long time painting my models and making sure they all rank up nicely, thats why i prefare fantasy to 40k. Not that i was never tempted to start 40k, but the armies i love are all metal (deamon hunters and sisters of battle).
So, let's keep discussing the hobby and our cartoons on this page guys - and stop losing faith in this stuff, we're still in the v.early stages of it all...
There is room, just work on that sketch as an audition :)
At 12/7/09 10:33 PM, TheFarseer wrote: By the way, should I PM someone the script or joke or just post it here?
Keeping the scrypt 'secret' with the animator is a good idea but we as organisers and the other collaborators NEED to criticise it if possible (both the good points and the bad) so we'll hopefully have a 'Win' joke in each short...
So post the joke here 1st ;p
We were criticised for not having original jokes in our 40K collab - i dont know about the co-leaders but i for one will not accept a simple 'rip off' joke in this collab, for the simple reason that we're trying to reach a decent level of originality.
There it goes... our 1st damn funny idea :P
Quite frankly, i dont see much lore in it but man, when i read it i seriously laughed out loud :P
Cant wait to see that anim then flashbound ;p
At 12/5/09 09:58 AM, flashbound18 wrote: dude... your still on page 1. it took us like, 3 pages If i remember correctly... even 4.
I see, just to clarify ;p Well, i'm liking this thread to get one of the authors i know to start contributing a bit - he might come up with a good one for your pics flash :)
At 12/5/09 09:34 AM, flashbound18 wrote: well I am a child to him. 16/17 (Tuesday), hes 21
bare in mind its been like, 8 months now since I animated that however.... my voice has changed a fair bit.
Testosterone doing it's magic then ;p Nah just joking, all you guys under 18 should enjoy your feminine voices for now - once you're 18 worry about manhood ;p
So, we've got Redharvest joining us again (lucky bastard for that wacom - but you've earned it with the work you've done in the past year ;] ) Flashbound, Forbid et moi. That's 4, around 8 parts...
Did it take this long to recruit ppl for the 40k one?
At 12/4/09 09:33 PM, flashbound18 wrote: good god an active lot you all are :/
Keep your hat on, remember the time zones :D (ps. i just woke up and it's still 9am here in Malta)
Yes, i do find this lack of activity disturbing; but more will come, after they've seen the new Playboy featuring Eowyn Horesmistress! (little tribute to the lotr one here on newgrounds :P)
I, too, am quite short of v.good ideas, mainly cos i'm sort of resorting to the same humour i used in the 40k one so i'm trying to refine my stuff.
Hopefully some more guys will join soon...
At 12/3/09 05:49 AM, Nuttro wrote: Was there a due date there? If there was, I missed it. I might do a better part without being slow if I am allowed to make a part in January/February. I shall audition whenever I feel I will have time to work on something.
The earlier you post your audition, the higher the cances of you getting into the collab. I'm keeping someone like Phobotech in mind, who came in v.v.late but (in my view) delivered a great part. But, as i said, mainly because ofg size limit, the earlier you're in the better :)
At 12/2/09 12:55 PM, ForbidMetal wrote: THIS!
IS IT!
At 12/2/09 01:30 PM, RedHarvest wrote: do u still have to "audition" if u were in the last collab?
For the sake of fairness, yes, each animator has to produce his little audition animation. Remember, we consider this audition as part of the final collab (obviously, if good enough) so you may very well have your 1st collab part in :)
It's just a 10second clip, but keep in mind that this time round rules are going to be slightly more tight to get the highest quality out of all of you.
Small tip, your stuff's good, just try make the movements more fluid - other than that *wink*

Can't say fairer than that.
I very well understand the ammount of freedom we as animators, authors and voice actors have. The statement might have been a tad too harsh. I believe a certain ammount of improvisation, however, could very well lead to the joke being much better than when written down (i'm mainly talking about voice actors here).
But for now i think all the animators should focus on having an entry piece for the auditon as, without that, he or she would not be able to participate ;p
