No, the topic is UK adoption agencies. The children dont have to be orphans. They could be born to unfit parents, unwanted children, whatever. The church is trying to stick to its tradition of helping the needy, and now, to do that, they need to abandon principal.

Stop bringing the government into this in the wrong context! The government is neutral in this apart from the bringer of legislation. The government funded agencies can do what the hell they like!
Now to counter your main point. Where did I ever say that every religious doctrine should become law? Nowhere! But lets follow your logic of massive generalisation through to its end shall we?
By saying that you are saying that just because YOU think a religion should throw its SACRED BELIEFS out the window in favour of new found rights for gays, then they should throw away all their religious beliefs away. Belief in the fundamental good of the human. Belief in life after death that gives hope and encourages a decent existance on this earth. Belief in the importace of helping those less fortunate.
Fuck man, sounds like a world I want be part of.

So because a religion has its history rooted in the past, and you deem it no longer relevant, then it should be overruled by what you see as more relevant. Facist.

Yet, the topic starter has not given the information as to whether these select religious charities are governmentally funded or not.

Im making the case for the agencies that recieve funding from the Church. Even if they recieve government funding in the form of a supplemental grant, they remain fundamentaly Christian. Those are the ones I want to highlight.

xineph, Since when has the UK government been established for 5 millenia? Are you high? Up untill a few hundred years ago, the Scottish and English were still clobbering each other over who was right.. Doesnt sound like government to me. . . hang on..

Yes, the children are being exluded from a "certain" upbringing. One that the faith based adoption agency they belong to does not preach it as part of its religion. Bitch all you want, but thats how Christianity sees it. Who are you or anyone else to tell them no you cant practice your religious rights? I would LOVE to see you tell someone of the Islamic faith that they cant practice their faith. Oh the outcry! Christianity is not a soft target. Equal treatment for all the religions!

And to say that the Christian faiths 2000 year history means nothing is a pretty bold statement. So by your logic anything that has been around for less than 2000 years, their history means nothing as well? America is less than 2000 years old. The wars for independance? Civil war? Right up to the civil rights movement? All mean nothing.
Again, cretin

Thats whats happening to a few. Rather than going against their faith, they are closing down the agencies. Props to them for sticking to their guns.

So to the gay rights protesters, plead your case to the hundreds if not thousands of children who will have to remain in care, or plead it to the staff in the remaining agencies who will be worked to breaking point. Imsure they will congratulate you on your heroic efforts.

I have to say that it has become such an epidemic that we no longer osess over stars. Now its z list nobodies. I was ranting about this earlier.

I think the US has its own version of big brother, but the UK one has decended into the depths of "celebrity" special editions. For fuck sake, one of the bozos on it this time was the mother of a contestant from a regular edition. How much of a nobody is that!

I think the world is facing an epidemic of stupidity that cant lead anywhere good. Apocalyptic future here we come.

I however will be safe, as I have managed to re-program my wii to be my protector against all the other wii's sent to destroy me.

Im not saying all agencies should be allowed to. If you run a non-denominational adoption agency, you should have to abide by the governments rulings, no matter what your personal feelings are. However, the adoption agencies run by the church, and therefore under the catch all bracket of Christianity, are now being forced to abide by these laws DESPITE having a 2000 year old recognised religion that forbids it.

And not some of MY Christian groups. Im agnostic. Im just VERY against this messed up, out of control PC culture.

I know what youre saying, but even if a white person did set up a caucasian college fund, out of his own pocket, it would still be torn apart. No eligable caucasian would apply for fear of being branded racist.

banditbyte - I agree. Its a shame really. Most people are pretty forward thinking and want to see equality, but once that starts to affect chosing a person for a job over more qualified individuals, thats where the fundamental flaws appear.

Thing is, now that it exists its either live with the inherrent unfairness, or speak out and mark yourself as a hate monger. Tough choice

Is it hell. Its a religion. Established for 2000 years, that says marriage and family should be between a man and woman. To force them to cow down to gay rights activists is to force them to abandon 2 millenia of establishment.

To say a black kid cant go to a school cause the principal is white is good old fashioned racism. Theres no established 2millenia tradition of white headteachers dissalowing black students into the classroom.

Cretin

Well thats what you get. I want to refrain from using the phrase "uneducated masses" so instead ill just call them moronic. You put an idea into their heads and if it catches, feed them more of it. People got wind of this global warming thing, and its now a massive issue, with ever increasing coverage of the up to the minute doom we are descending into.

Response to: Afirmative Action Damage Posted January 26th, 2007 in Politics

Random8982, Ive noticed that. A few American ads that have flashed by theese peepers seemed to be advocating a college fund that was only for black people. Now think about what would happen in terms of public outcry if a caucasians only college fund was set up.
My god it would be a PC massacre

This seems to me to be a case of revers racism. Most people are so blinkered that they cant accept blacks can be racist towards whites.

NB Since im not from the States, I use the qualifier seems in the above paragraph

The Uk Gay Rights Act Posted January 26th, 2007 in Politics

So now religious adoption agencies in the UK will be forced to treat gay couples equally as straight couples when it comes to adopting a kid?

You have to admit, thats bullshit.

Im not debating the point that gays shouldnt be allowed to adopt, thats a different argument. Im arguing the point that since the Christian religion denounces gay relationships, and thats their right in a country where you are free to practice your religion, why should the be force to let gay couples use their CHRISTIAN adoption centres? Thats taking away their religious rights.

What does NG think? A step in the right direction or Political Correctness gone haywire?

Activists, Go Fuck Yourselves Posted January 26th, 2007 in Politics

I watched part of a channel 4 educational program before I headed out to work today. In it there was an interview with some self-riteous, uppity bint called Kierra Box. Anyone heard of her?
In this interview, she actually said:

"If youre going to be apathetic, then you might as well be dead"

So because not everyone is as pissed off at the state as you (learn the rules, beatnik) and arent up in arms every time the government makes a decision you dont agree with, we should all commit suicide? You were given the vote to let the government know your position. Use it, dont go around inciteing demos and marches cause you have inadequacy issues.

Let the riot squad loose on any march or demo faturing this bint.

They are protesting the way the majority live. They are fucking hypocrites. They campain for human rights but if you go by their standards, they want humans to live like fucking animals.
No weapons, corporations are bad, no wars, transport is bad.

Lets all go back to living in biblical times where people live a nomadic existance and worked rediculously hard for little payoff.

Its called progress. Deal with it

Methinks the post starter may be generalising a little too much. You cant lump a country under one set of attributes. And if you are, you need to split Britain into Scotland and England. English people are way more arrogant than the Scots.

OK, we get it! You dont consider this forum active anymore.

However, you consider it active enough to constantly check it for voice actor requests. So:

1)If people are leaving requests and
2)They are being read in some capacity then

why do we have to go register on another site? A shot in the dark is probably better than holding fire.

As Movie And Sound Control Posted January 16th, 2007 in Game Development

Hey. I need some help.
Im making a flash game where a short cinematic will loop untill the user makes a decision on how to proceed. I dont want to abruptly just cut it off mid-sequence. I think I can use a fade to black that begins on a button press to deal with the visuals, but how can I make the sound quiet down in time with the fade to black?

Just as an aside, does anyone know where I can pick up code for a movie control bar? Play/Pause, go previous, skip, RW, FFW buttons and the like?

Muchas Thanks in advance
