The rednecks have arrived!
The last few posts are contributing nothing valuable.
If you think its wrong then give reasons. Personally, i think its distasteful, but less hrmfull than atual CP. Its a two edged blade though. If acts as a rehab tool for CP users, fair enough. but if it acts as a gateway for otherwise normal people, then its validity is questionable.

They may be the facts (most likely your rendition of them), but the fact that you present them in the way you do, after someone graciously thanks the US for their help shows that you are exactly what this thread is about. A proud person would have said "your welcome", but the arrogant side (Cellardoor6) of the USA says stuff like "we did it all", "the allies were useless without us" or "if it weren't for us the world would be speaking German".
Seconded. I did have a grudging respect for cellardoor6. Even though we disagreed on issues, there was still worthwhile contributions incoming.
To be honest, i misseh that post on WWII, but seeing it transcribed here and now, thats torn apart any respect I had.
Let me lay down somewhat of an ace here. If you like bigging up the US's role in WWII, explain why you didnt jump into the fray in september 1939?
- A person who is arrogant often exaggerates one's own worth or importance in an overbearing manner.
- Often people who are arrogant are not aware of their own behavior or don't want to recognize they are arrogant.
- A strongly arrogant person will usually try to downplay other people's achievements or ideas in order to make himself appear better.
Sound like anybody you know Cellardoor6?
Seconded
Thanks for the pointers guys. Turns out the lecturer went over arrays today then gave us another week.
He just wanted us to sweat for a while
PM the results or reply? Its gonna be an aaawfully long topic if its reply.
Clarification:
I know about #include, but ive no idea how to get the program to interprate the text as single, comparable characters.
I have to write a C program that will take the name of file as a command line argument and then produces as output, each alphabetic character and a count of the number of times it appears in the file.
I have no idea how to get it to do this. Any help would be MUCH appreciated guys!

But it would be great if the UK started trying to pay for it itself instead of leaning on the US. Not just in nuclear technology, but in military technology in general.
I mean, I know that staying under the protective Umbrella of US might is good and all.
But you may actually want some military deterents and Naval powers.
For example, the F35 Joint Strike Fighter program has been funded almost completely by the US. The US contributed$80 billion, and the UK has only contributed only 3 or 4 billion if I'm correct. Yet when the F35 starts getting manufactured full scale, Britain will pay the same amount per aircraft as the US does, outside of development costs.
It's not that the UK can't afford to be an equal partner... people just don't want to take away from social programs and so forth in order to pay for Military expenditures. So they expect the US to pay the bills and lift them up by the bootstraps.
But look at the countries propotionaly. By taxable populaion, the US can affort R & D costs more than the UK can. We're not the biggest of countries and so if we were to spend the same proportion of taxes on weapons research, it would be a lot less in monetary terms.
Eh, I'd say that the Royal Navy is the second or third most powerful in the world. But people only don't think highly of it when they compare it to the US Navy, because the US navy is more advanced and bigger (in terms of tonnage) than the next largest 17 navies in the world combined.
The UK used to be the greatest Navy in the world.
Now they can be considered great in Europe at best.
And it was started by a Scotsman! Rock on! =D
Im not sure navies are as viable an option as they used to be. WWI and WWII they were definately viable, but since the advent of things like subs and aircraft launched torpedos, they become a lot more vulnerable. Dont get me wrong, the fleet is still a force to be reckoned with, but mainly due to the carriers, which if you want to be pedantic, carry the threat of air power.

they belong in scifi only. why have mechs when you have jets?
Because jets have to fly in a direction. They cant stay on station in a situation where they would be needed (say to defend a certain point). VTOL is generally for take offs and landings so thats not really viable.

Fine, someone who watched the program care to back me up, because I know thats what went on in the program
And even if I didnt, from the trailer I can gleam the fact that he is allowed by his parents to eat junk food. They may have argued in the program that there were mitigating circumstances (waily waily, its glandular, etc) but Im not going to sit and be fed BS.

Do you realise that the administration costs of taking 25c donations from so many people would most likely take up most of the donated cash? That many small donations would be incredibly hard to keep track of.

Well I omit important points. To be fair he said it war a feature of some piece of software on the laptop. Which program I dont know, and I cant get hold of him.
Hey all, I need some help in findong a program. One of my friends mentioned that a feature of his new laptop is the ability to save any file that goes through the sound card as an mp3.
Does anyone know of a program that does this?
One for the UK crowd. Should the Trident nuclear submarine fleet be renewed replaced or scrapped?
In case any Yanks want to pitch in have a gander here
Basicly the problem is that the UK nuclear capable submarine fleet will need replacing or renewing soon. Of course greenpeace want the whole thing scrapped, and they claim so does over half of the public.
So what do we all think is a sensible way forward from this conundrum?

the way i've been seeing this is more along the small scale, human enhancing machine. we've already been working on ways to mechanicaly enhance human speed, agility and endurance through relatively small and wearable machinery (exoskeleton type things). what a mechanicaly enhanced soldier can do is carry a heavier weapon with more rounds, move faster and have a greater range as well as being able to be armoured so as to provide greater protection for the soldier.
Thats a fair enough point. Personal combat suits would make for logical steps forward. Just saying I dont see Mechs making tanks obsolete on the bigger jobs.
Big believer in dont ask dont get. You asked. You got.
Okays, youre the merchant captain. Ill PM you the lines once I write them
I need willing warriors to captain the mighty vessels of the Imperium of man.
Im making a flash game and need people willing to appear in it both in voice and image. Still needed are:
Imperial Admiral : Posted to space station for duration. Male/Female
Imperial Captain : Newbie captain on his first command. May make an arse of things depending on the players game choices. Male/Female
Merchant Captain : Only one or two lines. Captains cargo frigate on Imperium Supply lines. Male/Female
Tanks seem to be a much more practical option. As a variant of tanks you get APCs and AFVs. The capacity to transport footsoldiers quickly and (relatively) safely. A mech capable of carrying a fully kitted squad plus pilot would be a bit unweildly.
Plus theres speed. Since a tread system is basically just driving, then theres not a great deal of complexity. However with mechs, you need to co-ordinate at least 2 legs, and you have the rapid acceleration and decelleration of each one.
In an organic bipedal situation, the muscles get stronger from repeating these same motions constantly, but in a machine this leads to metal fatigue.
Just a couple of thoughts on the subject
Have a look at this backdrop Ive done. I know its plain, butI cant for the life of me seem to think of ways of makingit less so.
Its supposed to be a space station corridor by the way.
I can see the UK's nuclear capability diminishing in the near future. The current government wants to spend £15 billion replacing the trident nuclear submarine fleet with other means of nuclear defence. (Source)
This has been met with fierce opposition, so it looks like trident will continue for now. Thing is, when the fleet comes to a point where its either replace, renew or scrap, I can see greenpeace and all the other hippies kicking up shit in favour of the scrap option.

Muchas gracias guys.
I thought that because I'd left the border undefined, I wouldnt get one by default.
I shall implement momentarily!
They used to have a similar set up in Glasgow. Although there was a guy putting oven baked pizzas into the machine from behind, then you put your money in the front and get your pizza, complete with box.
Unfortunately it shut down due to lack of business
Shame, the baked bean pizzas were fuckin a!

Its been a while since I seen that. Qustion is, why does the US need "2600 more than anybody else...whatever"
I would have thought that thats excessive. At what point did the military say
"Well, thats enough firepower to destroy every single living thing on the planet...but fuck it, lets have a few more!"
