Heay Folks,
I'm working on a comicmaker, it works like a dress game with drag and drop,
but my problem is, how can i make a button function which changes the layer of 2 parts,
f.e. change the movieclip layer from the underwear with the one where the trouser is on?

we (me and a few guys) worked on a pico jump and run game for the picoday,
but now all the people who worked on the graphics disappeared :/
So we are searching for 1 or more guys who can draw in pico cell shade style.

hay folks,
i think i have a question that might be answered easy but i just dont get it:

i have a term:

this._x = (this.wab)+(((_root.pks*10)-(this.wab))/2)
;
//-------------(part1)--------------------
--(part2)------

so i just want to add the two values, together, lets say part 1 is: '5' and part 2 is: "30"
so i expect the final value to be 35, but when i test it the value is 530 so how can i get this to work?

Nice speech there,
yes i read "your fucking post" and i understood it,
but the games that you find when you search for metal slug,
are the ones that i just counted up in one of my last posts,
(8 entrys by me that don't count) and the "games" with
a complete other gameplay, i wasn't just talking about metal slug games,
i was talking about metal slug games with the same gamestyle,
and for example a metal slug scene creator doesn't count at a metal slug type game.
i bet if i search for pokemon i'll get 1million results but almost none would have a similar gameengine ( i bet you comment this one).
So if i might be wrong, just give me the links to the games that have the original metal slug gameplay, and perhaps you can formulate a normal answer without telling me how much you hate me...

im sorry, i just done like you. every tom, dick, and harry has done a metal slug game/movie, yours was nothing new and you have the audacity to say your anything close to godlike.

Well there are many people that have made metal slug movies, but there aren't many
that have made a game / gamengine that plays like metal slug, i bet you can count them on 1 or 2 hands, the only ones i know is the MS rampage series, the MS stick game, alien hominid, happy & smile, and my game. And with the phrase "Zero to Godlike (almost :P)"
i wanted to tell that my newest submissions are much better than my first ones.

Hay Folks,
yeah i know that you expect this to be a Newbie post, because of the Topictitle,
but i'm not really a newb, when you check my profile you'll see that i made a few flashes
in the last years and improved my actionscript skills from Zero to Godlike (almost :P) .
So the thing is that i can code a game like metalslug with a character shooting, having different weapons, different deaths, ammo, hit detection and all the stuff, but making the complete custom graphics for such a game alone wouldn't be possible for me.
So yeah if somebody is interrested and wants to join show me what you can do =)
If not there won't be another metal slug type game, perhaps we all allready had to many :P
I also just thought of a character with horns, like this sketch shows:

here is the newest beta:

Please tell me if you recognize bugs, and tell me your framerate.
-Things i know that don't work:
Shooting upwards
3Machinegun bullets have same y position when shooting
Some enemys can just be killed with the pumpgun (thats no bug)

Things improved,
- Grenade works properly now, means no exoloding in air,
-> explodes if it hits ground or enemy or "some time" has passed
-Enemy Death Animations, sometimes when you shot an enemy he
just stopped moving, now every enemy plays death animation
-Improved Jumping, now is more realistic (especially falling down)

Keys:
A - Shotgun
S - Machinegun
D - Knife
F - Grenade
F+Aiming UP - Grenade, throw longer distance
G - Hit/Die Animation, just for testing, later not in game
Q - Pistol ( not working)
W - Reload Pistol (not working too)

thats all so far i think.

please help me improve my game/gamecode.

hay,
here i show you a picture of my level

Only the part with the red squares is the part which is actually showing on screen,
there are 3 Main movieclips
- One for the character, can't go of screen
- One for the Background scrolling left/right
- And one for the level/ground/enemys which scrolls left/up/right/down
and the whole level is always there even if parts of it aren't in screen.

So any solutions how to make a better framerate with that?

that really isn't a high framerate,
i think i have to change the code very much
to improve the performance

no the whole "ground"(floor) and enemys and powerups are in one movieclip that
scrolls over the screen so when the enemys go of screen they still are in the same movieclip as the part you see on screen then.

and i don't know how to easily make them disappear in the movieclip,
if they where on mainstage i could use something like

if(this._y > 400){
this.visible = 0
}

but it isn't that easy inside the movieclip, because the enemy always has the same
position in the movieclip

you understand? it's really frustrating that the framerate is so low :(
