I suppose I should start with thanks. Thank you for having the time to stumble across one cryptic topic, and taking the time to at least give it a glance, which is better than most people would have done. Yes, many are too busy to take a good look at some common sense, and, that was fast. I've already gotten to the first reason for writing this. Introductions are in order of course.

I'd like to be able to announce myself as a professor, a great social scientist with field-changing studies on the human psyche, but keep in mind - this is Newgrounds here, after all. No, I'm just a fifteen year-old boy, with some rather uncommon common sense, sitting here typing In Word and going back with Spell-check every few minutes. I'm not perfect, nor do I claim to be. What I do, that I feel entitles me to be writing this, is watch. I'm an incurable people watcher, and not in the least ashamed to admit it. I like to observe people and guess at the ticks that make them work. Surprisingly to both myself and others, I've been right on a few occasions - some of those 'subjects' have become my friends. But already, I'm going of on a tangent. I don't know if that's my ADHD or just that there's so much that needs to be said. On to the real point of this column.

When I people watch, I've been seeing an increasing level of shells, fakers, whatever you call them. People who operate by culture GPS and have no thoughts for themselves. Usually identifiable by Twilight shirts. The ones who would exclaim how George Bush was the worst president ever, but when asked why, would quickly change the subject. Not that the opinion is wrong, by any means, but they've arrived at it for the wrong reasons. (A warning here, this isn't for discussion of politics; I'm just using that as an example.) We - and I'm assuming that, unless you are a troll, you have - have all seen the same kind of people. It's sickening to think that these people are my generation's future, the Idiot Masses incapable of thinking for themselves. I want to wipe these people out and give thought a chance. That's why I've started this, one little pearl of wisdom in a sea of stupidity. (Editor's note - Blue is pretty big on analogies. You'll get used to these odd musings after a while.)

I believe it's time for anarchy, not of the political kind; that will come later. Here's what I mean: I think it's time we destroy these so-called writers and their fans - people who don't join in on anything to express themselveves, but to cash in or be like everyone else. Today, I make a call to the ones who still think for themselves, and believe it or not, Newgrounds seems like a good place to start. Not to go all John Connor on everyone, but honestly, if you're reading this, you are the resistance. We will rise up, with not only words and opinions, but knives and guns as well. Unfortunately, it seems the Idiot Masses have progressed too far to be stopped by common sense, so yes, there must be killing, a storm before the calm. But there will be more time to discuss that later. This paragraph will provide enough shock value for one post.

So have you figured out the name yet? This column, Lethal Dose of Reality, will be just that. Doubtlessly, my way of thinking will be fatal to some, and lead to the deaths of others. But the true answer lies in the abbreviation. Any gamers here? I'd never suspect any on Newgrounds, ha ha. But those who play games, who involve themselves in clans, will surely see where this is going. LDR - A common shortening of the word leader. That's all I hope to be. Not some one who is worshiped or fanned or popular. I just want to influence people in some small way. Make people laugh and make people think.

The new year has just passed. There's no better time to start something. And starting something... is exactly what I plan to do.

I'm not usually much for the whole environmental movement. But polar bears have a special place in my heart. It irritates me that they're dying left and right due to climate change. At the same time, I know a lot of proposed solutions are unrealistic. Like it or not, we're stuck with oil until we run out, and then the oil companies will release the alternitives they've had all along. (but that's a whole other story)

My Dad and I hatched this idea over breakfest. Rather than focus on stopping emissions to save them, why not build their home. A floating platform.

A space to laugh it off and then consider. Ready?

I think we could build a floating platform, with ready-made structures you'd normally find (fishing holes, shelters, etc) for them to live on. I'm no engeneering expert, but I believe it would be possible, and (in a world where Obama throws money at every problem) fundible.

Nintendo really has the epic win here. Profit off hard and softcore games, while other companies won't touch a causual game with a 3-foot pole. Then add in in the Mario and Zelda fanbase to fall back on.
