Also if you're using the line tool you'll need to break up the lines to fill it in. I JUST realized that this doesn't apply for the brush tool :o wow.

Sorry if I don't really understand the problem. Are you sure you put the movie clip on the main timeline? Just working on it within the movie clip doesn't make it show in an exported movie. To put it on the main timeline, make a keyframe on the timeline outside of your movie clip and drag it from your library to the stage.

If it's a more technical problem, I've got no idea what's wrong.

A) Think it's hard with a mouse? I'm using a touchpad, on my mac laptop.
B) I usually draw it all on one layer, myself.
C) Practice, practice, practice. Try using some tutorials to get a basic walk cycle down.

You probably made your brush tool make your strokes objects - sleect all of them and break them.

I can't tell if it's better, they're all quite terrible. Practice on paper before on your computer, and MS Paint is not the best program for drawing anyway, try Flash.
