Saudi Arabia: Women can't roam in public without a man, must wear a vail, .etc.
Also, the woman wasn't just to be jailed - she was also to be lashed.
That's right, Saudi woman is gangraped and is actually punished with lashing and a jail sentence!
Saddam's people were much more free than the Saudis.
If we're going forward to some kind of global value consensus then I won't abide by our alleged allies acting so Barbaric, if we're invading places under the guise of regime change then Saudi Arabia could do with one.
I don't really have too strong an opinion either way, so there's no point in arguing with me.
First off, it's veil.
Second, get your facts straight. She was gangraped, yet that wasn't what she was imprisoned and lashed for - she was lashed for being in the same car as a male stranger (quoted from a news site, the offense was "being in the car of an unrelated male at the time of the rape,") . This law is ridiculous as well, but she knew it was a law - it's not like they made it up on the spot. I also think ti's important to say that the men were imprisoned as well... but for only a few years at the most.
