I'm not sure if this is allowed.. if not just tell me and I'll take down this message.

Greetings basement producers of the sound.

I am black parchment and at the moment I am having a problem... See I am currently going through writers block and one way I found to combat that is by remixing/arranging other peoples songs. I've done two already and have enjoyed working with them.

I work with fl, if you would like that give a reply.

Response to: Depth in your sound Posted April 29th, 2012 in Audio

I want to make things sound further away and more like the song is in some sort of a 3D space. I have tried the treble reduction method and panning although I found that hard panning anything is kind of disorienting to the listener. In the end it seems like everything is smashed together again even without compression, I'm pretty sure FL studio does not support 5.1 channels but I'm sure that's not the problem.

What do you guys do to add depth to you mix?
Especially those of you who use FL

Ok One way of dong this is firing the Fl Reverb in it look for a notch called dry turn this to 0%. This should create a effect that sounds sounds like a distant sound. Another trick is to use fruity stero enhencer fire it up and get the slightly pan the phase offset till it sounds bigger.

One of my songs uses this type of thing alot to give different head space to individual instruments. If you have for example a song with melody and chords you might have the 0% dry reverb on the chords to make it seem further away bringing the melody out. Have a listen

When I first joined here 3 weeks ago the first I did was submit my music, ever since that eventful day I've been checking everyday for that little message that said hey, your song was accepted. Do you know the feeling you get when that happens? Ever day you expect some chocolate only to get a lil pocket message saying 'sorry, maybe you'll get some chocolate tomorrow'. Is this normal or wrong?

New grounds.. I want chocolate
