It may be a personal thread, but "art" that gets shat out in a matter of seconds doesn't belong anywhere on this forum.
@OP: Try harder, this will not do.

LOL... good thing you kept that tablet! Just imagine how bummed you'd be if you'd actually gotten rid of it ;P
Hope you find a good deal on a replacement stylus... or maybe find the lost one?! Could it have fallen out in your car or something?
I know, rite!
Incidentally, where have you been?

I love mine, it's Wacom Penabled, lol. It could use a larger screen though... I suppose I could use the dual monitor feature... that would be pretty sweet... hmm... I'd need monies though.

this is a good question, is it more like a really basic plastic stylus or more of a full on Wacom pen?
It's this thing. I tried using the Graphire stylus on the tablet PC but it doesn't register it, there must be some doodad in it that makes it work. Thank goodness for eBay, cause Lenovo seems to really overcharge.

Hrmm, that blows hard man. Maybe you shouldn't have given them the stylus when you gave them the PC? Could that have been possible?
Hindsight is 20/20, my friend.
The pen has a little holder in the base of the tablet where I keep it so it doesn't get lost, I should have taken it out before giving the computer to the shop but I didn't think about it. =\
Going through your list, I am ingterested in these titles you mentioned:
Super Mario Galaxy 2
The Legend of Zelda
Sin and Punishment: Star Successor
Metroid: Other M
Epic Mickey
God of War 3
ModNation Racers
Littlebigplanet 2
Twisted Metal
Final Fantsy 13 versus
3D Dot Game heroes
Quantum Theory
Super Street Fighter 4
Enslaved
Portal 2
RAGE
That's a lot of games, lol. But I won't be buying many on day one... probably just RAGE (if it actually comes out this year) & Super Street Fighter IV. The rest of them I will wait to see how they fare in reviews and word of mouth.
That one looks pretty good.
I don't have a lot of experience shooting photos of my traditional work (I have a friend who did it for me). But once you have a decent picture of your art, you may want to color correct it in a program such as Photoshop to get the colors closer to what they are IRL, for some reason photos never come out with the right color values.
As long as you have an original example you're not breaking any forum rules. Also; photos of traditional art (sculpture, paintings, drawings etc.) are allowed in the Art Portal, just so we're clear. =]
BAH!!
So a couple of weeks ago the fan assembly for my tablet PC breaks down, not a super situation, but it could have been much worse. Anyway, I ordered the part on ebay and get some thermal compound and take it all to a computer shop, because the tablet PC is, well, valuable to me and I don't want to fuck it up doing repairs I don't really know how to do. So they fix the computer but they lost my digitizer pen (basically a fancy pants stylus for the tablet PC). So now I have to order a new digitizer pen, which will be another $20-$50, depending on where I get it. What a pain in the ass.
So now I'm arting on an old Wacom Graphire 3 tablet, which is okay, I just wish they hadn't lost my digitizer pen (of course they say they never saw it). Bummer.
/rant.
Cool, I was just bemoaning the recent lack of vehicular combat games. I quite hope, if it really happens, that it's as excellent as Twisted Metal: Black was.

Yeah, beacuse you totally baited everyone.
They're not going to stop milking the franchise until the franchise stops making them money. I agree that the release schedule is completely ridiculous and that they SHOULD back off a bit, but as long as they're raking it in that's not going to happen.
Very cool! I love it when people are brave enough to put their art on their possessions. =]
Back when I had more income than sense (and it wasn't a lot of income either) that used to happen to me often, now I rely not only on reviews from critics but also regular folks who have experience with a title before I jump into purchasing something. I think Metacritic is, though not perfect, a decent source for such information.

Nice, I'm loving the background and the overall darkness of the piece. Great job, I'll be looking forward to more art from you in this thread.
Not to be mean or anything to an impressionable preteen, but unfortunately (for you) you have to be 13 or older to have an account on Newgrounds. Sorry.
Alchemy is real swell, thanks for the recommendation. I'm lovin' the mirror mode, lol. I wish there was a way to use pressure sensitivity to control opacity, other than that it's an aweso program!
At 3/9/10 04:48 PM, ZOMGALIENS wrote: Could you please explain to me waht a Vehicular Game is?
Basically, what I am talking about, though the definition on Wikipedia is a lot more broad than I like, it is cars, trucks or other vehicles armed with guns and other weapons of destruction driving around and blowing each other up in spectacular, violent fashion. Twisted Metal, Interstate 76, and Vigelante 8 are examples that come to mind.
Sure there are kart racing games and destruction derby games and other sub genres, but what I'd like to see are more of the mature oriented games like the examples I listed.
What happened to the vehicular combat genre? Games like Twisted Metal and Vigelante 8 once populated the Playstation console, now I don't see any games like it anymore.
Was Twisted Metal: Black the swan song of this genre and we are not to see another great, violent vehicular combat title again?
What do you think about this genre?

While I like the idea behind this there are a couple of components that I find a tad disagreeable.

For now, the actual challenge.
Draw a face without using any black line-art. Shading, lighting, and color will play a big factor in making this look good. Have fun :)
You should clarify these rules a little, If this were my thread I would say: NO line art, period. Do not use any small brushes to create lines in your art whatsoever, whether it is hatching, lines for emphasis, contours or line work of any color.
The other thing that bugs me is the start pic. To me it looks a bit rushed, pprobably in the < 15 minute range which, as a start pic, generally does not pass.
I think you should put a little more into the creation of the actual challenge like you did with the whole idea behind the concept as a whole.
That's all, the thread can live and faces without line work is something I work a lot at, so I might participate in this one. =]
Good luck.

Couple of things:
1) Do not ask to be scouted, if your art is decent and you have four or more images uploaded to your account, it will happen.
2) Your art needs much improvement before anyone is going to scout you.
