Sometimes, you say? Sometimes people watch you draw in class? I guess I stand corrected.

All you have to do is name it Retris and you can get away with it? How about if you put ads on it, would that still be legal since now you are generating revenue?

In the US you can not legally use another person or corporations intellectual property without the agreement of the copyright holder, usually you will have to pay a royalty for the privilege.

Look into "Fair Use" to find out what you can freely do.

Second--I was bored, so I went ahead and posted my question about art and religion in General. But I'm still interested in what you guys have to say about it.

Art as a Higher Power? Posted March 23rd, 2010 in General

..::Art as a Higher Power::..

Someone discussing religion on the radio today made a comment about art and music, for some people, taking the place of religion in their lives. That got me wondering if artists and musicians have a lower inclination of persuing traditional religion in than people who do not seek those creative outlets.

Though others may disagree, I consider myself an artist. I am also a very irreligious person, a dyed in the wool athiest if you want to label me. Though I see some good coming from certain people of faith I see religion mainly as a negative force in the world. I never saw that my artistic temperament and my lack of traditional faith as being related before, but, when I think about it, art brings me comfort, art provides me with an outlet for negative feelings, emotions and thoughts and I look to art and music to bring me inspiration and joy, for many people these are things that they look to religion to bring them.

I know that, for many people, religion is a sensitive issue, so know that no one is forcing anyone to participate in the discussion and, though I can't speak for the entire forum, I know that I harbor no ill judgments based on comments made here. Though forum rules obviously apply, so don't be a douche.

My questions are these: What is your inclination towards art and/or music and your inclination towards faith? Why? Do you feel that art and/or music can or should be a substitute for religion?

Thank you for indulging me.

I think that pretty much sums up how I feel about this. Of course the producers of the show want to show a person behaving at their worst, that's when a person is most interesting to watch.

If anyone got awarded $100 million dollars for looking like an ass on TV almost every reality TV show personality would sue for that amount.

..::Art as a Higher Power::..

I may make a topic about this in General, but I thought I'd like to know what you loungers think first.

I heard a brief thought on the radio saying that art and music for some people may take the place of religion. It got me wondering if artists and musicians have a lesser connection to traditional religion than people who aren't inclined to persue those creative endevors.

I know that, for many people, religion is a sensitive issue, so know that no one is forcing anyone to participate in the discussion and, though I can't speak for the entire forum, I know that I harbor no ill judgments based on comments made here in the lounge.

Personally, I am a very irreligious person, a dyed in the wool athiest. I am not neccissarily for the total abolishment of religion, but I see it as a mostly negative force in the world. What about the other artists here, do you think that art is/can be a subsitute for religion?

Nah, I don't think there is any reason you would have to color it, some things look better black and white, greyscale or with a limited palette. Just be aware that most people will likely be coloring theirs, so consider that you may be handicapping yourself.

Most Irritating Enemy? Posted March 22nd, 2010 in Video Games

Which video/computer game enemy bugs you the most?

For me I'd say that it's the Spawn enemy from Quake. Appearing in the later stages, these things jump at you super fast once you get within their range and damage you, what's worse is that when you hurt them enough they explode and if you're within the blast area, BAM major damage. They are usually in hard to see (as is everything in Quake) areas and are difficult to spot before they attack you.

What enemies do you find the most irritating?

Post pics.

I understand the reasons for this rule, but recently there has been a lot of collaborating going on in the forum, so what about two people working on one piece and if they win anything they split the prize?
Ashy and I are Prime examples of this :P

Well Kinsei, it's not like we have super powers and can read your mind and know that you did or did not collab on a piece, though it would be kind of lame if you do.
