While I agree with your sentiment Coaly, I think the said discussion had been going on for far too long. All discussions seemed to veer toward that topic and it's really annoying.

i heard 2004 was kinda funky to, but 6 was deaifnantly better in that sense.

Yeah I never used 04, I was just basing that on MX... =P

Most computers in the world are running an older version of Flash Player and won't be able to view stuff done with 8.
but thats mainly for proffesional use, and sites that you dont want people to have a problem viewing. i for one only use flash to submit to newgrounds, and most people on newgrounds do tend to have a higher version of the flash player.

True. I use 8, I was just thinking of reasons why someone would be hesitant about upgrading. Even thoug most NG browsers will have the latest Player if you have your own site, you might want to put stuff that is viewable in an older version. My site was published for FP 6, as I didn't really have a NEED for filters or AS 2.0.

My assessment:

Upgrading from a previous version is expensive.

The site won't load, for me, in Opera.
In Firefox it looks amazing, congratulate yourself. d(^.^d)

Sorry to double post, but it's getting a bit late Sunday evening (eastern standard time).

I'm just wondering if we can see it before it's uploaded to NG, and when it will be uploaded to NG.

No one cares, they care about the quality of the flash itself, not whether or not it's someones first attempt. If everyones first Flash stayed on the site the quality overall would go way down.

The best advice anyone can give, when it comes to learning to draw, is; practice. Draw every chance you get and before you know it you will be making decent graphics.

Just get the v-cam from here. You tween/move it around wherever you want the visible screen to be.

Is it not a bit of a pain having to work on such a small space?

Not at all

Or what's the quick fix to this, are you constantly scrolling around the screen or what?

No, the tablet doesn't work exactly like a mouse, it works more like a computer with a touch screen, wherever you touch the tablet pen is where your mouse appears.

I don't know how a tablet works, can you use it to navigate all around the screen or just in flash for the drawing aspect?

You can navigate anything, if you fancy, you could play games with it.

Do you have to install any special shit from flashes point of view?

You should probably install the drivers the tablet comes with. It should be plug and play but you'll get better use out of it by installing the drivers.

Besides, The thing that makes the PS3 so expensive is the Blue-Ray DVD Reading device.
It's for High-Definition TV's so if you don't have one than it can't be used.

It's basically a advanced DVD Player in which makes the movies better quality; But here's the catch, you have to buy the other version of the DVD to work with it which is around $30-40.

Pretty stupid, since they didn't make a different version without the Blue-Ray reading DVD device. That's the main expensive part. Heh.

Blue-Ray isn't just for HD tv, it's a higher storage capacity disk, several times the storage capacity of a DVD. It's good for games so that they can pack more data onto a single disk.

I have have Macromedia Flash MX 2004 for a while now, but as the days go I feel as if I am not getting the best out of this program. I was wondering what type of macromedia everyone is using today. 2004 seems to not have as much qualities as the programs being used today.

Flash 8 is the latest. It's not that different. Some changes to Actionscript and there are filters, like blur, to apply to movie clips.

That is a lie and you know it, it is pretty obvious. I have the book and I am looking at the exact thing you traced, page 176 and page 126 I think it was.

"if i traced them they wouldof looked good" That's a silly thing to say, tracing doesn't make anything look good. In my oppinion, everything traced looks like butt. I'm sure it would've looked better if you did what the book said, and didn't just trace it.

Just admit it dude....no wait, just don't come here and say that you didn't trace it, 'cause you did. And yes, this IS a big fuckin' deal :)

It looks like a reference job to me, not a trace. The arms are too short in the first example and the second just looks too terrible.
