What the fuck? You don't control me nor are in any way responsible for the way I do things around here. I do respond to PM's and IM's from any user, you're not special just because we've exchanged a few PM's. Anyone can report forum abuse to me and it will be considered equally.
It really pisses me off that you would call me out like I'm your fucking pet, get over yourself. Especially since you're the one who started the flaming. Christ.

I've cleaned up this thread a bit and I've banned the worst offenders. I do not want to have to come in here and clean up your messes a second time.

Hell, I was falling for it for awhile, it was actually another one of our art forum friends that sent me a PM about it.
I'm glad that you're coming clean, it's not often that someone actually has the balls to do that and then to continue contributing to the site, despite your tarnished reputation, is pretty impressive.
Art theft is something that we take very seriously in the forum, it's a disgraceful thing that takes credit from those who deserve it and puts that credit in the lap of the thief, who has done nothing to deserve it.
I think the art regs will, and should, give you a hard time about it for awhile. You're not going to get away from it scott free, of course, that would set a very dangerous precedent.
But I'm glad you're turning yourself around, and I hope to see some real art from you when you do come back. =]

What the Hell did I just watch? Don't bother answering, you're definitely in the wrong section of the BBS, go away.
I've seen something made in that posted before, I was under the impression that he made it himself. It looks amazing... I guess it's just a price point question, is it worth $35 to you?

Do you have any idea how long and stressful a job that film was? Trying to recreate that effect would require extremely detailed frame by frame animation in flash. It can be done, and he doesn't say that it has to be quite as high of quality as in that film. Thyvold made Tracer in Flash, it's rotoscoped and it looks great.
I think rotoscoping is by far the best option mentioned, and that's what the effect in "A Scanner Darkly" is, so if the shoe fits...

Haha. Oh boy, good stuff.
Rules are there too protect you and keep you safe from this headless baby that will come out of the computer monitor 666 seconds after you read this post unless you post it in five different forums around the web. After you've posted it five times in five different forums you will get a phone call by your secret crush. It actually works!

If you see a post b4 thats already told the topic starter what he needs to do, don't bother posting your 2 cents stating the exact same fucking thing.
In fact I believe he said he realized his mistake, and is cooking somthing up so the thread don't get locked. SO why bother telling again and again and again. Its just annoying seeing a topic with 8 or so replys that are filled with totally useless information.
Mods are here.
A have to agree with this. Some of you guys go a little overboard when someone makes a mistake. This thread was posted without art and the OP put little effort towards getting something posted as soon as he realized his mistake, soo...

Nope, I'm all NPR/PRI. I don't think they even have Air America broad casted anywhere around here. I listened to some of it when I was driving somewhere between Arizona and Colorado. But anyway, why would you make that assumption?

Fetuses have bodies and don't have teeth, they have closed eyes.
If you want to improve your abilities in 3D looking art you should do some studies on light interacting with objects and people. Really learn how to make shadows and highlights that look realistic.
..::colbert for president::..
I'm sure that less than 20% of all Americans know anything about the man. There will probably be some political polling done that confirms this.
I find his show entertaining, he's a pretty smart guy and it took a Hell of a lot of balls to do what he did at The White House Correspondents Dinner. Whoever booked him for that probably lost his job.
I can imagine, at some point in time, Colbert seriously running for political office, like Al Franken is doing (or trying to do) right now. If Jesse Ventura, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronald Regan can win elections, why the Hell not? And if he takes a thrashing he can always play it off for shits and giggles.
..::the page at the beginning of the site when you first get here or when you click on the tank area.::..
Well when the redesign launched Tom said that no matter where they put the games they still generate the same amount of traffic, so I think it works. I think if games and movies were in two columns the site would look really weird... like "Site News" = "Featured Movies" = "Featured Games." "Site News" shouldn't be as prominent as the games and movies, I like it being shoved to the side, with the three different Tom heads, and if you're paying attention P-Bot is right there to tell you what the five daily winners are. I think the new layout works.

Sorry, but these things bug me ^^
This bothers me as well, we're supposed to lock threads that do not have appropriate titles. "Hello" is certainly not a useful title. I'm not going to ban you or anything if you remake this topic, as long as it includes a new, useful title and some links to images or .swf's that show your skill as an artist and animator, maybe even a link to your script, or excerpts from your script so that people can get to know the characters a little better.

Wow, um thanks. =D
Kirk is awesome, we were modded on the same day to help out with the Flash forum, which was woefully under-moderated. He hasn't been as active being back in school, but he always has useful information and easy to understand pictures to help out with any Flash situation. I have nothing but respect for him.

thank you.
you can't start a collab if the movies that make up your batting average were submitted on clock day.
That's not really a rule (yet), but it would be awesome if we (mods) could pick and choose what movies are the three best representations of an artists skill before they go off and make collabs... or at least go back to the old system where someones BA is the mean score of everything they've submitted.
@OP: Umm... good luck with this, I suppose. I don't have any valid reasons to close it down. You just might want to reconsider, because the amount of time, effort and stress involved in leading a collab is very high. Most people who start their first collab are not very aware of the amount of work that goes into leading a project like this and the collab gets abandoned or winds up being of very poor quality.
At 10/16/07 11:27 PM, Lucas4560 wrote: Hey guys and welcome to the knock out collab!
some shit
1. I have a 3.0 BA so dont say i don't
You don't have a 3.00 batting average. You have co-authorship of one movie that scored above 3.00. If you had a BA it would be 1.1467 because, I think movies that don't exist score around zero.
2. I'm not very popular but trust me i am very serious with my flash creations :)!
Then create some fucking Flash. Of course you're not popular, nobody knows you exist. Get dirty make a couple Flash's and come back.
3. Please join it will be jolly good fun :D!
I'm not going to join, matter of fact; I'm going to lock your thread.
Noobies are accept but must prove they are worthy by noob i mean.. no submissionest. dont worry i was in your shoes not very long ago.
Drawing 50 frames doesn't really take you out of n00b territory. Make a couple Flash's that survive the portal first, then we can talk.
non of theat BA shit or anything if a mod wants to close then let them do their damn job!
Yeah!
Wait...

Link me to the tutorial, please. I looked around in the Flash section and I couldn't find that tutorial.
About the original picture of a man in a fetal position, you really, really need some more experience in art if you want to make it look nice. Try drawing from reference for awhile, until you get a feel for human anatomy and the basic framework of the human body.
At 10/16/07 10:35 PM, ChoppedMadnessColts wrote: oh ok u may delete this and when i have uploaded it i will repost
Oh may I? Thanks for giving me that kind of latitude.
I've seen you making thread upon thread, you have to have read the rules by now. Saying you'll post something later as the person who created the topic is really juvenile and annoying not to mention a violation of the rules.
It's not that hard to wait until you finish something before opening a topic about it. It just blows my mind that someone would be so absent minded and/or inconsiderate. Clean up your posting.

Well, I could post almost anything digital I've done in the past five years, because I almost never use more than one color. But I'm lazy and a lot of it is already in my art thread. Don't want to have to ban myself for picture spamming.

Actually it is a .jpg.

Nothing? Use a different browser and try again.
If it never works, well we're not really at a loss, judging by the quality of that picture.
Okay, you must have missed the rule about MS Paint not being posted here unless it's really excellent or funny, your eye picture is neither. I don't care if MS Paint is all you have, and if you're really desperate to post, post it in the MS Paint thread.
