A tad busy for my tastes, I also hope that they change the wrapper art that I see on a lot of the pages, it makes Newgrounds look more misogynistic than it needs to.

I totally agree with that assessment.

Also; I kinda wish there were some sorely needed new features, especially with the various search and sort functions (Audio Portal especially). Oh well, maybe soon...

Aye, perhaps not, however, in my opinion, you can discard certain religions that have no basis in reason/established reality. Like I said earlier; 2+2 =/= 5, if something is batshit insane, just admit that it's batshit insane and find another option. When something has been proven to be wrong or impossible, then it needs to either be thrown away or updated to include the facts.

I respect the Dalai Llama, though I am no Buddhist, he has stated: "My confidence in venturing into science lies in my basic belief that as in science so in Buddhism, understanding the nature of reality is pursued by means of critical investigation: if scientific analysis were conclusively to demonstrate certain claims in Buddhism to be false, then we must accept the findings of science and abandon those claims. "

This is a stance that other religions could benefit from.

Response to: Does piracy really hurt artists? Posted February 6th, 2012 in General

Not all pirates can't afford the entertainment products they're taking, however, while piracy is taking a cut of some profits that would go to the artists, it's really the large corporations who are hurting the pocketbooks of creative professionals.

Don't know if this is relevant to your situation, but the site does not tell you (when you're setting up your password) that non-alphanumeric characters won't work in your password, bhowever it accepts them just the same, which is super weird, so I was unable to log in until I changed my password to just alphanumeric characters through the email retrieval system (had to do it a couple of times to figure out why it wouldn't let me log in).

Good luck!

Dear current Newgrounds layout,

Though our five year relationship is now coming to an end, I sincerely hope that we can still be friends. I very much hope you will be comfortable at your new home in the Internet Archive Wayback Machine, I will come to visit you there, from time to time.

Goodbye my darling design.

Sincerely,

Response to: Giving Up? Posted February 5th, 2012 in General

As for myself; I try to evaluate things constantly, how well they're turning out and how difficult I expect the remainder to be.

When something starts turning sour I tend to try to find a way to get it to work or turn out better, but if it doesn't start turning around I'm fairly quick to put it away and once I do it's really, really unlikely that I'll ever pick it up again.

The pile of unfinished work just grows and makes for a pretty depressing spectacle. Lol.

Giving Up? Posted February 5th, 2012 in General

How far into a project does it become okay to throw in the towel on it?

Are you the kind of person who will soldier on, no matter how hard it is, no matter how shitty it's turning out, until it's done?

Will you just half-ass it if it's not going the way you want, just to get to that finish line?

Are you the kind of person who just says; "I'll just put this on pause" and never pick it back up again?

Do you see that something isn't working early on and just give up in frustration and despair or do you like to keep pushing until the push back is too great before giving up?

How willing are you to throw in the towel?

Response to: Your arcade memories. Posted February 4th, 2012 in Video Games

I was a big fan of Rabbit Punch when I was little, though, like a lot of arcade games it was completely impossible to progress very far.

The co-op beat 'em ups were also always popular before the fighting game craze. I spent a lot of quarters playing Golden Axe, TMNT, The Simpsons, and X-Men (licensed games were actually good then).

I do love my fighters though.
The contemporary fighting game formula was still a bit off when I first started going to arcades; Karate Champ was about it and it was never that popular. Street Fighter wasn't even a big deal until Street Fighter II came out, then the whole fighting game scene blew the fuck up.

Good times.

I'm not sure what this DAZ 3D is, it sounds like a beefed up Poser.
Bryce should be a vastly more powerful version of Terragen, for creaing landscapes and scenes.
Hexagon.....I have no idea.

Either way, you might as well nab them now. Doesn't sound like there will be any time limitations - you should be use them and download them after the sale.

Awesome, thank you for posting this!

Haven't heard of anything but Bryce, but they should be interesting to try.

Downloading now.

Kaiju? Kaiju! Posted February 4th, 2012 in General

Kaiju; Giant monsters with amazing supernatural powers that have a tendency to obliterate everything in their wake, aka sweaty men in ridiculous, rubber monster suits wrestling with one another on top of a miniature set of a Tokyo.

Are they outdated and silly or is there still room for giant monsters in your heart?

Who is the best?
Gamera?
Rodan?
Destoroyah?
Giant Mutant Hummingbirds?

...or could it be Mechagodzilla?!

I choose Mechagodzilla.
