I don't know.....do whatever you want. It kinda depends on how ood you make it.
Don't tell us your ideas, but show us your final products :)

cause it's very hard to rate an idea

Response to: Question: What makes a good flash? Posted July 5th, 2007 in Game Development

Well I guess your main problem is that you don't put enough effort into your flashs. To make a good flash that does not get blammed you really need to work hard on it. That's the main reason why most very skilled flash artists just submit something now and then, just every month.

Response to: How can I learn Flash? Posted July 5th, 2007 in Game Development

For me it goes quite fast right now. I'm working with Flash for nearly a week now and I gained experience quite fast, considering I didn't work with it ever before. How to animate can be learned very fast, since there are many many good tutorials on newgrounds. I also liked the Tutorials on www.superflashbros.net
These helped me very much. Of course you have to work really hard to gain skills at animating and drawing and stuff like that. But believe me, it's worth it :)

Response to: can ya help? Posted July 3rd, 2007 in Game Development

As good as your idead may be you have a big problem there, which is that most animators have so many ideas that they usually dont have time to help others with their projects.

@ otreely

Never ever post something personal on these forums. Most people here are just assholes who want to rip you and your stories into pieces. Some do it because they are yuny and think it's cool and some do it just because...well they are assholes.

So rule Nr 1 here is: Don't post personal things

Is it just me or does nobody uses the search engine?
I'm here for like.....wait.....three or two days and these Forums just get SPAMMED with the same questions , the same topics and stuff. Isn't there any way to prevent that? Because sometimes really important questions ( that are NOT asked every 3 minutes) don't gte the attention they are supposed to get.

So my call to all noobs....: Use the Search Button!

Response to: All about tweening Posted June 29th, 2007 in Game Development

Well in "Decline of Video Gaming 3" I saw these Guys making one character turning his head. And if I'm not completely wrong, they did this movie with tweening, too. Can somebody please tell me how to do that? (I don't care if it looks that crappy)

Or did they do the head-turning-animation by using FBF?

All about tweening Posted June 29th, 2007 in Game Development

So here I am...again.....with a lot of questions ;)

I've encountered a couple of questions while using tweening a bit.

1) Let's say I have a guy who is looking directly forward. Now I want him to turn his head to his right, then look there a bit and then turn his head to his left side. Is there any way to do that with tweening?

2) Now I want my guy to raise his arm and then stretch one of his fingers....or suddenly point somewhere. Is that somehow possible with tweening?

Response to: Animating rotation... Posted June 29th, 2007 in Game Development

Yeah im sorry. I didn't mean Symbol but graphic. So where is the difference between Graphics and Movie Clips?

Response to: Animating rotation... Posted June 29th, 2007 in Game Development

Yeah that's it I guess. But I don't know if you have to make it into a movie clip or a symbol.

BTW where is the difference between those two?

Response to: Animating rotation... Posted June 29th, 2007 in Game Development

Did you make the line as a layer?

Response to: Animating rotation... Posted June 29th, 2007 in Game Development

Yeah I just saw it. It's late here in Germany you know ;)
Sorry for that....my fault

Response to: Animating rotation... Posted June 29th, 2007 in Game Development

As far as I know (I'm a flash noob, too) that is not possible. If you want your guy to turn around you have to use FBF. Maybe that's wrong....since I'm not an expert.

Good news for me ;)

Response to: Animating Posted June 29th, 2007 in Game Development

Hey guys... I didn't want to create a new topic for this so I'm posting my question in this "old" topic.

As I played around with flash and animating yesterday and tried out all of your tips, a new question came up to my mind. Do all Action Sequences, like for example in "Madness" or in "Killing Spree" have to be FBF animated? OR is there a way to do that with "tweening".

Right now I think that tweening is just for the simple stuff, like for example making a guy walk from left to right or havin him raise his hand while talking or shake his head.....you know what I mean ;) So basically tweening is for simple actions or actions that go into one direction....

FBF on the other hand, is for more "complicated" stuff like turning around or having fight scenes or a firefight.

Is that right? I'm asking since I can't really decide bewteen using FBF and tweening in different situations....

Thank you guys again

Response to: Animating Posted June 28th, 2007 in Game Development

Uhm...whats easing? :D

You woke my interest about it ;) and now you have to tell me :p

Response to: Animating Posted June 28th, 2007 in Game Development

Sounds good j1mp. I really like how fast everybody helps here :) Thank you all guys.
So every Frame that I draw new has to be a keyframe right? Or did I miss something there?^^

Response to: Animating Posted June 28th, 2007 in Game Development

Good. I guess I will use keyframing first....

Do you guys know the flash: knee deep in death?

I like his style and his animating a LOT. Do you know how exactly he does it? I don't want to copy his style or something, but I just want to know how it's possible to get animations like that.

Response to: Animating Posted June 28th, 2007 in Game Development

Wow...that were two damn fast answers. Yep they helped me thank you guys :)

But I have another question, I just forgot to ask.

If I make a movie or a clip or something, and I use FBF, how exactly does it work? Do I have the draw the whole guy again and again in each frame? If yes, how is it possible that my characters always have the same height and dont look completely different in each frame?

Right now, I imagine it as quite hard to draw the character new in every frame and have him looking exactly right as in the frame before, except the small movement he made.

Animating Posted June 28th, 2007 in Game Development

What's up? This is my first post on these forums and I'm quite new to Flash (buyed it today).
But I've got a couple of questions....

So let's go :
1) What different kinds of animating are there? As a Newbie I just know of the FBF Method and the"tweening" method. If there are more. please tell me and if possible explain them or show me a good tutorial. Thank you :)

2) Right now I'm working a bit on a Stick movie to improve my animating skills. But I have a samll problem though. Of course I want to make other movies than "just" stick movies. Let's say , just for example, that I want to make a Madness tribute and I want my character to turn around. Do I have to use FBF or can I somehow do that with "tweening"? The problem I face here is that if the character is running from left to right, his arm is the last layer, so you cant see it through the torso or something. But if he turns around now and runs from right to left, his left arm must be visible and his right arm has to be behind his torso. How can i do that? Can i let my character run with "tweening" and then turn him, using FBF? Im a bit confused now....

3) Which method do you prefer? FBF or "tweening"? Can you give me some tips which method is better or when to use which of these two methods? I actually have no clue if it's better to use FBF or to use "tweening"..... please help a confused noob :(

I hope you understand everything since English is NOT my motherlanguage.
