4.09 / 5.00 12,195 ViewsOkay since you're bored and I'm hopefully not wasting your time.....I want my game to begin with a small intro in form of a text scrolling up, telling a little bit about the story. So far that can easily done by tweening the text from the bottom to the top and then out of the picture. Is that right? Or is there a better way to do this?

Ahhhh. Okay. Thing get much clearer know. A good feeling when you finally get how something works......thank you sooooo much for your help. Although it were, until now, mostly dumb questions, you really helped me a lot....so thank you so far ;)
Ah damnit....I feel stupid now. I forgot to set the background to a different layer. That's why it did not work. Thx buddy :).
Another thing that im thinking about is the timeline management. Isn't that completely confusing with all these different layers in later stages of movies? Like you get lost in that shitload of layers? Or is there any way to prevent that? I mean if I want to tween 2 characters I'd need at least more than 10 layers for that. Or is my thinking there wrong?
Okay Im getting completely confused now. Suddenly it worked, when I used black color and a white background. But when I draw the background completely black and try the same with white colour it does not work? What the hell? :D

Then, go the amount of frames you need (at 30 fps, about 60 frames away should suffice, the number isn't important though and should be in/de -creased to suit your needs) and press F6 to create a new keyframe. The MC will still be blurred, but go back into the filter option and set the blur to 0. Then, right click the original frame and select motion tween. This'll tween it for you. You can also set some options on the tween. For example, easing in will case the blur to start slow, then get really fast at the end. Easing out is the opposite. Or vice-versa, idk, i'm not sure. Try either one.
Okay somehow Flash doesn't want to work the way I want it to work. I did it exactly the same way. STep by step what you did. And what happens? Right nothing ;D All i get is a tween which stays at the same blurr level for 29 frames and then suddenly jumps to completely clear at frame 30. Inbetween there's no change visible. What am I doing wrong?
Just a usual motion tween.
Heya guys. I have already been interested in Flash for a long time, so I thought it's about time to start making my own flash movies and games, just to realise that it is really freekin' hard to get started at all. But since I usually don't give up that fast I thought it would be the easiest if I learn it by doing. So I created this new topic to ask all questions that occour while working with flash. Im hoping to learn a lot from you guys and hope you share your knowledge with me. So get prepared for some really stupid questions.
Okay first question: Im currently trying to create an intro to my own point and click adventure. So what I want to do is, after the preloader is ready, having a text being blurred and getting sharper from second to second until you can finally clearly read it. I tried doing this by just blurring the text and "unblurring" it a few frames later with a tween inbetween( hehe). But it just won't work. All I get is the text suddenly jumping form blurry to not blurry. So any help on this?
I wouldn't use different scenes btw ;)
It makes things much more complicated later on....
Oh and I forgot the most important rule and tip I can give you. It's rarely mentioned in any tuts.....
NEVER EVER GIVE UP!!!!
No matter what, don't stop working with flash. If you feel to lazy or are not motivated listen to music while learning or working with flash. But get your la´zy ass up and work no matter what ;)
Well first of all you should check out this tutorial collection : http://www.newgrounds.com/collection/fla shtutorials.html
there are pretty damn helpfull ones there. Check out all of them and if you have any questions left just come back here and ask ;).
Well what different kind of FBF animations are there? I'm just curios you know? I want to leanr as much about Flash as I can.
Another question: It would be quite good if I draw each character on his own layer right?
Okay guys i opened a new thread in which I will ask all those questions I will encounter during my work with Flash.
So here comes the first question: If I animate with FBF, do I have to make each character a MC and then animate his movements inside the MC or do I have to do this on the main timeline?

Lol plz read the first post again ( not meant offensive ) ;)
It's quite funny that i actually mentioned these 2 points there :)
Thanks for your help so far :)
I already own a tablet ;) it's from WaCom :o
Well was there any important stuff that I missed in my first post?
Well you should check out the tutorial section since there are quite a few good tuts on moving cycles. If you watch them it should be no problem to make your animation with a guy walking, his hands in his pocket.
make a fucking good flash!?
Yeah I started working on my own flash movie after learning with tuts and trying stuff in flash.
But as everybody, I want to make it as best as I can. I don't expect it to be as good as the ones from those experienced animators, but anyway......
So, what in your opinion are the most important things you need to be experienced in to make a good movie.
So far, I've learned (of course :p) animating ( tweening as well as FBF), masking, lyp sync, background drawings, good effects ( `stuff like rain, explosions and blood )......but did I forget anything that's important for a good flash?
Except of course all the obvious stuff like a good story, good drawings, good characters and stuff like this. I'm more talking about all those different techniques that can make your life in flash easier.
Thank you guys for your help :)
Well you could either create this by FBF or by using the Vcam. I would recommend to use the cam. Just google for it or search for it in the forum. The Vcam is really easy to use. Just read the description on the website.
I feel happy for you that it went out like that ;)
But if I'm allowed to give you one small hint......spending 2 days on an animation isn't much. I hope you don't expect to get high quality work after 2 days. Most animators need MONTH to release another one of their series.
But just keep working on it and you will get better and better ;)
Uhm....well first of all I got to say that the text effects are nice, but nothing special. Actually it's hard to say something about your preview since it's rather short. Oh and the text is hard to read. You could easily fix that I guess.
HOLY BANANA!
This looks awesome. I loved your series and just found out about you making this game. So far it looks pretty damn promising. Really terrific.
Oh and thank you spending so much time everyday in finishing this for us.
Go mow some lawns......or sell your body :P
:100 posts btw......yay:
I'd really like to draw the girl fom the grudge or the ring. But since I'm not such an great artist.....would anyone of you guys do it for me? ;)

that's kinda weird...
I don't know exactly what you are trying to say....but as far as I understood you want to make an image cover the face of your character? I'm not sure but I guess that masking is the answer. Just watch a few tutorials. Btw taking an image from google and putting it on a self-drawn person looks crappy :P
You should either redraw the object or at least make a bitmap.
Wow that's just disgusting :D

We could as well make this the official "i passed my driver license test" thread :D

Sorry to be a dick, but its true. We don't care. Make us care.
Wow a bit harsh. And arrogant don't you think? It's people like you who badly fail in beeing friendly. You know, I passed. Im happy. And I wanted to share this with you. And then there comes some stupid idiot who thinks he's cool cause he has been here for sooooo long and has over 1000 posts and has such a big amount of exp. Who the hell do you think you are? Chuck Norris? I've the right to post whatever I want and Im not gonna let some dickhead take away that right because he thinks he's so much better than me according to his stupid post count. You know what? i give a shit about you and your account. I mean, how stupid are you? This is a goddmaned forum. Not some kind of hierarchy in which you are placed "higher" than me. And Im NOT supposed to make you care. If you don't care...well you don't. But don't write shit like this making yourself feel cooler.
Ha I finally did it. Remember me? I was the guy whining about my fail at the driver license test a couple of month before. I did it again and what happened? As you might already expect :p, I passed. I actually passed perfectly said the instructor :). Isn't that awesome?
NOOOOOOO Rick is EPIC. He is pure sex. You can't just replace him with someone else :'(
