Lawl! You are the Newgrounds poster child aren't you?

Haha, maybe the art forum, but definitely not the entirety of Newgrounds.

That would be too awesome.

Looks almost like crayon, which is definitely not what you want to use.
If you're gonna colour these by hand, make sure to fill in everything, don't leave white spaces.
Or you could digitally colour them, just get a freeware art program like Gimp or Paint.net

While it's definitely one of your better pieces, it still seems rather underwhelming.
You finally have clean lines and shading, which is nice to see, but the main issue is that the drawing is still rather simple, and looks like it took maybe 10 minutes tops.
Also, the fact that the text takes up so much of the page compared to the drawing, really takes away from the image. Almost seems like you were more concerned with the text than the character.

My biggest gripe is the blurring, especially on the ground. The ground has no depth and appears more like a strange fog instead of a solid surface, really throws me off.

Yeah your icon has only really had a background change. Think you drawn the short straw there.

Well, his icon has a bit of an icy reflection in the background, which I don't see any other having.

One tip I may suggest - stay away from filters. They add a cheapness to your pieces that really detracts from what they had without the filter.

The shading is too close to the original colour.
When you're working with a cel-shaded character, the shades need to be darker so that they can contrast against the natural colours of the character, gives more emphasis on the shadows.

Best way to get some critique is to post the art in this thread. People are more likely to give you feedback on them then.

I think totoros are bunnies

Totoro is the name of the character, not the "species".
They're a bunch of forest spirits, and Totoro is the name that Mei, the little girl, gives to the largest one through the phonetic interpretation of it's roars.
Totoro is somewhat like a bunny, but his ears are nowhere near as large, and he's also a good 8 feet tall, I would presume, judging by comparisons to Mei.
