The band I sing for, Kineto, changed names after the former guitarist accidently fired himself. We used to be called B-Phase. Everyone used to hear the name wrong, so...

I didn't photo-shop that. It's legit.
If you think I'd fake a score on an online game to impress a few NewGrounds BBS posters with my 1337 gamer-skillz, you obviously don't know me.
I know it's not faked, and that's enough for me...
I get all the attention & aproval I need on stage, ya'll.
(if you've seen S.A.M.V. p4: - ...fear..., you've heard some samples. to hear some complete songs, click http://www.kineto.net and listen to some complete songs in Audio.)

If that's Memphis, TN: about average.
if it's West Memphis, AK: it doesn't get any easier than that, my friend.
if that's Memphis, Egypt: you'll never pass, so the NG BBS is just as productive a use of your time as studying...

I've always been beefhaze on NG, but in reviews & posts & so-forth I often sign off with variations of that, usually a translation of "Mr Beefhaze" into various other languages, such as:
-Sr Calina del Carne deVaca (spanish)
-Herr Rindfleischdunst (german)
-Monsieur Brume De Boeuf (french)
Does that count? o_O

No, I can't say that I've ever taken that trip. I have researched it, though. (even got a few links bookmarked) I'm not sure I'm ready to meet the lady.
I've never taken DMT, either, though I understand it can be extracted fairly easily from common plants.
I haven't even taken mushrooms in years, and I can walk into the buffalo fields in Golden Gate Park and pick my own. I guess I just haven't had the need/urge.
I'll tell ya, having grown up with a charismatic preacher for a dad, I get into some really deep, sometimes really fucking frightening, places if/when I take psychedelics... like the time I met the devil at a party. I literally ended up strapped down in the psych-ward that night. (if you can't guess, four-point restraints are no picnic.)
I've learned a lot about life from my experiences, and I'm pretty sure my mind has thoughts I wouldn't have if I hadn't taken such very large amounts of hallucinogenic substances.
I don't think I'd trade all of the bad (really fucking scary) times if it meant losing the understanding that I gained. Honestly.
ps: I like your handle. It's too bad churches have given so many the wrong idea about JC and the teachings.
(I'm actually trying to follow the rules JC taught, myself. I usually have trouble loving people who act like assholes, though...)
Some "odd" things about me...
-My mother took peyote when she was pregnant with me.
-My parents stopped being hippies when I was a kid, and my dad became a preacher... in Tulsa, OK.
-I took WAY too much LSD. (I do NOT recommend taking LSD)
-Every time I've ever been forced to go to psychological councelling by the courts (and I have), the therapist said I was "well adjusted" and "I don't know why you're here."
-I'm straight, but I live in San Francisco
-I sing for a rock band
Last but not least:
-I'm 34 years old, and posting to the forums on NewGrounds.
"Odd" enough for you?

Mr Jason Dix = Excellent Human Being!!

OK, I know it looks bad. I'm reviewing this and it's got my name on it - right there under Jason's - but I'm not worthy!
I want to say that ALL of the animation, the writing, the editing, the acting, the talent and the skill in this movie are direct from Mr Dix to you. I want to take a moment to point that out. I'm really just a huge fan of his work, and I feel honored that he's been so cool!
My contribution to this episode of S.A.M.V. was very, very small. Jason asked me for permission to use some music by Kineto, and since I sing for Kineto, I was able to get him our blessing.
I did get to see some early roughs, and got a chance to read his script, but that seems more like a treat for me than helpful to Jason. Truthfully, all I could say about it was that it's excellent and I could hardly wait to see the final cut!
That's it - my miniature bit of involvement in the creation of this wonderful movie - and Jason is such a generous person he gave me credit as an Author!!
I know we've all experienced free-blam-points, but I think I may be the first person ever to get a free-daily-feature-award!!!1!
Mr Jason Dix: all of that skill, all of that raw talent... and a really, really great person, too!!
Thanx, J450N! You're c00l!!

Now the world (or at least the Forum) knows the truth!!
Make the entire movie into a single clip that is bigger than the window it will be shown in, then you can use tweens to move it left/right/up/down to simulate moving a camera, or with enlarge/reduce to simulate zoom.

NO! I don't get those.
All the wood he could chuck, my friends. All the wood he could!
Thank you! Thank you very much! good night!
My 2 cents:
I usually try to vote fair and give any submission I plan to vote for my full attention... but I've noticed a lot of submissions I really like getting blammed, while many I think are horrible (think Pube Muppet) get really high scores. I can't figure this out!
I will admit, though, that I can sometimes tell a movie is going to be protected, and so I vote "2" just to get the protection point. I still refuse to vote low on a submission I think is well done, even if I'm absolutely certain it will be blammed.
Also, from what I understand, there is a very large segment of the community that only votes "0," in order to get easy blam points. I think this is rude, and unacceptable behavior. (I also know that what I think won't make one iota of difference.)
Anyway... I guess my point is... is... I don't really have a point, now that I reread this post. I'm really just saying, "yeah, that's weird. I don't know why great submissions aren't always voted into the top positions, either! Isn't NewGrounds odd?" ;)

I'm not sure how many of the NewGrounds movies you've watched. I'm guessing not many, because they are all different sizes.
There is no standard size. Pick a size that seems right to you or apropriate to the material you've chosen.

As someone who reviews, yet hasn't ever submitted any work to the portal...
No. No, I don't find that funny.
The fact that I haven't submitted any work to the Portal has absolutely no effect on my ability to recognize the difference between excellence and crap.
I try not to write reviews that are unnecessarily mean, and sometimes I'll even try to give the creator suggestions for future improvement, but there are just so many submissions that are just so very awful...
Don't get me wrong. I know Flash is not easy. I've been trying to learn to use it myself. But the fact that it's hard to do doesn't excuse shoddy work. If someone submits shoddy work to the portal, they are asking for a blam.

my 2 cents:
Your movie is well made, and it has nice graphics, and on the basis of pure art and animation I think it should have a higher score, but when originality is considered, it loses some points.
A factor that probably had a lot to do with the low score on your movie is the fact that there are hundreds - if not thousands - of DBZ tributes on NG, and I'm pretty sure most of the NG community is really, really, really sick of seeing DBZ tributes, well done or not.

ps: for what it's worth, I do like some anime, but only the skillfully animated and well written stories... not cheaply animated, low frame-rate, repetative fight genre.
I seek quality at least the level of films like 'Akira' and 'Totoro.'

I found out the one thing that all women find attractive: men who are in a loving relationship.
I had no play for a long time after my (ex)wife (the belly-dancer) left me... anyhoo.
I recently reunited with my childhood sweetie (first kiss, saw StarWars together when it was new..) and I'm totally in love with her, and totally dedicated to her 100%.
Now it seems like there's a different woman giving me the look every day! Where were all these women for the last 2 years?
That's what it is, guys. If you fall in love and don't even think about other women, they all want you.
Women find single, available men unatractive!
